"Bunta, please don't tell me you're being serious." he exhaled and smoke came out.
"Fine, jump on my palm." Ryuu jumped.
"What are you guys doing? We don't have time to waste, trust me." Kakashi jumped on his palm but Obito was still hesitating, but he also jumped.
"I hope you aren't doing what I think you're about to do." He said.
Gamabunta shook his head.
"Thie kid is crazy." He said as he prepared to throw us.
"Try staying close to each other as much as you can without interrupting each other, ok?" They nodded.
Gamabunta threw Ryuu, Kakashi, and Obito, and in mid-air Ryuu activated his Sharingan.
"Multi-Shadow clone jutsu!" He made many clones and threw kunai right above the tower.
He teleported to Obito and Kakashi mid-air and teleported to the kunai he had thrown.
"It worked?" Ryuu said as he wiped his sweat.
"It worked!" Obito said while he was jumping around.
"Wait, you're telling me you weren't sure that would work?!" Obito asked.
"Well…" Ryuu shyly scratched his head.
"It doesn't matter, as long as we're here now," Kakashi said, Ryuu nodded so that the conversation can finish there.
"Now let's go deliver these scrolls!"
They entered the tower, there was an empty room with plain white paint and in the middle, there was a whiteboard that had something written on it.
"When both heaven and earth are opened together, the path of peril will revert to the righteous path forever this is the secret way that guides us on from this place today."
"Well, what the hell does that mean?!" Obito asked as he finished reading it.
"It's telling us to open the scrolls," Kakashi said.
"You're right," Ryuu replied as he took the scrolls.
Kakashi and I opened the scrolls.
"What is this? 'Human mankind' what does that mean?" Ryuu tossed the scroll away from Kakashi and his hands.
*Poof!*
"Huh?"
"Hey." He waved at us as the smoke was clearing up.
"Sensei!" Ryuu and Obito jumped on Minato, he fell back and Kakashi just slapped his face.
"I can't believe you guys are already done." He said as he got up.
"Yeah, I was aiming to set a record for the shortest time here." Ryuu Proudly said.
"And you shattered it, but now that you've all passed the exam, this called for a celebration, right?" Obito and Ryuu excitedly nodded.
"Ramen on me!"
"Wait, sensei, what would have happened if we opened the scrolls in the middle of the exam?" Kakashi asked.
"Good question, well it's obvious that an important part of this exam was to test if they could trust you with an important document while on a mission.
If you were to open it, our orders were to knock you all out with a genjutsu until the second exam was over, however, I trusted you all and didn't even worry at all."
He said.
"Sensei, what does whatever is written on the wall mean?" Obito asked.
"Right, part of the reason I'm here is to make sure you all understood what it meant.
It's the directive written by Hokage-sama himself for all chunin journeymen."
Obito scratched his head.
"Directive?" He nodded.
"That's right, in the text, the word heaven means the human mind and the word earth means the human body, if qualities of heaven are your desire, acquire wisdom and knowledge to take your mind higher."
Obito still didn't understand and was left scratching his head.
Ryuu grabbed his shoulder and said.
"In other words, if your weakest area is your brain and academic knowledge, you must study harder and gain wisdom and knowledge to take your mind higher."
Ryuu said.
"And if earthly qualities are what you lack, train your body in the fields and prepare to attack," Ryuu said.
"In your case, you need to train harder and find the riches of physical stamina and skill and you also need to train your academic knowledge," Minato said.
Ryuu and Kakashi burst out of laughter, they even had tears in their eyes.
"Ahem!" They stopped and looked at Minato.
"And once you access the qualities of both heaven and earth, no mission, no matter how dangerous it is, will be a wrong path for you, you'll be walking in a safe path even in the riskiest mission."
Ryuu nodded.
"Now can we go have some Ramen, I'm starving?"
Minato chuckled, knowing how dangerous Ryuu's hunger is for his pockets, and he knew if he gets any hungrier that bill would be an awful sight.
"Wait, before we go I wanted to ask you something Ryuu," Obito said.
"What's up?"
"When did you have time to mark the other students?" He asked.
"I too want to know how you did it," Minato added.
"You should've paid more attention, he placed the seals when he was giving out the permission slip, no one will ever know how it happened and the best they could ever do is make up some strange story."
Ryuu nodded as Kakashi stated.
"Correct as always, Kakashi."
After that they went to have some Ramen, while they waited for the other teams, after nearly a day, team Choza had finally finished and Guy had already begun training and so did Ryuu, who was working with Minato and Obito while Kakashi was working with Sakumo.
I didn't know what jutsu he was working on, and neither did he know mine. I've been trying to create a jutsu of my own recently.
"Did you get the scroll from Hokage-sama?" Kakashi asked.
Sakumo nodded.
"But just remember, I'll only be able to help you a bit, this jutsu isn't one that I know, but it'll still be fun learning it with you."
He nodded and took the scroll.
A week passed, and they announced that six teams had passed. The other four teams that hadn't passed weren't seen yet, they were presumed dead due to starvation, and yet somehow Tazumi and his team passed then after all that, The Hokage called all of us back to the tower; I had left a seal in the tower, so I just used it to teleport all of us there.
"So Kakashi, any jutsu you're working on?" He shook his head.
"Sorry Ryuu, there's a chance we might face each other in the exams, so I can't take any chances by telling you."
Ryuu nodded.
"Good call, the less I know, the better and the fight will be more enjoyable this way." He Replied.
"Shhh, focus, Hokage-sama is here."
Obito said.
Sakumo was guarding the Hokage, he stood by his side as he walked in with his pipe in his mouth, Orochimaru was standing in the middle of the arena.
"Listen carefully as Hokage-sama speaks, he will explain the third exam."
The Hokage nodded.
"The third examination is about to begin, but before I get into specifics of how it will be conducted, let me make something clear.
Why do you suppose a lot of the younger shinobi have been chosen?!"
No one except me knew why, so they all looked at each other in confusion.
"Right now, all five nations are in a war, you all aren't qualified to know why but you're qualified enough to know that your seniors are dying, they're dying because we barely have enough shinobi to hold the front lines, we have survived two previous wars at the cost of many of our own and we need more shinobi to help us win this once again."
He put his pipe away.
"That is the reason we're having this examination take place and make no mistake once this examination is finished we will have separated those who are fit to be promoted to the rank of chunin and those who aren't.
Furthermore, this serves as an arena wherein, for the honor of their respective homelands, young shinobi may fight to the death if need be!"
Ryuu clenched his fist.
"This third exam will be conducted under the watchful eyes of many distinguished guests, including rulers and nobility of the various villages within the land of fire you all aspire to serve.
If anyone of you shows extraordinary skill and superiority, the noblemen from every land or village will be quick to hire you, but if they see that you're incompetent and weak, they won't waste their time with you."
Ryuu yawned and everyone looked at him, he shyly scratched his head.
"I don't want to waste any time talking about this so ill briefly explain the examination."
"Fwoosh!"
He got interrupted when Shikaku showed up out of nowhere.
"Sorry for the interruption Hokage-sama, but I would like to take it from here."
He nodded.
"I'm Shikaku Nara, your proctor for the third and final exam, I guess I should say it's good to meet everyone, but honestly it seems like a waste of time and it would be such a drag."
