Chapter 1 - Celebrations

'It had been a few years since it happened... since the death of my parents; I was still very young and didn't know what to do. Because I was just a kid, I was too weak and too scared to do anything. I remember how it happened. After all, how could anyone forget?'

One day in Konoha, a young boy was taken to a restaurant to celebrate his third birthday...

A short child with Crimson hair and dark eyes with a hint of brown walking beside his father and mother.

'I ate so much that day I could barely move.

We didn't have many times like that. Usually, we would just eat dinner at home. However, since it was my birthday that day, it had to be special. And I'll never forget that day, no matter how hard I try.'

"Ryuu, let's go home, it's late you know."

The young child frowned,

"mum do we have to go back home now?"

She nodded.

He held her hand as they walked back home.

It was at night the wind was blowing strong that night.

"look it's about to rain." the child pointed at the sky.

Sounds of thunder deafened the sound of the rain.

Ryuu clenched his mother's arm in fear that the storm was coming. After all, he was only 3 years old;

'we lived not too far outside Konoha. My father received some gifts as a sign of gratitude, some land by the Hokage after his contributions in the second shinobi war.'

They neared their home...

Ryuu turned his back quickly

"What's wrong?"

The father asked, he was a tall man with dark long and spiky hair and a little muscular.

He carried a blade behind him and held his son's hand.

"I thought I felt something or someone behind us," Ryuu replied.

"Are you kidding? Only fools would dare attack us, don't you know who I am?" He said as he scrubbed his hair.

Ryuu forced a smile.

'Something is wrong, and I know it, this air, it's so intense.'

The two parents exchanged glances like they were communicating.

The boy was scared and shivering; he felt as if someone was watching him.

his mother noticed this and carried him on her back.

'I always feel comfortable with her, this red hair is so nice to play with.' He said as he relaxed his head on her hair.

This comfort didn't last long cause the mother began moving faster.

"Mother, why are you walking so fast?"

"Don't worry, everything is fine." She replied.

"I love you Yuri." the father said, he stood back and removed his sword.

"I swear if you die Hanzo..." She started crying.

"Ryuu, I love you, and I always will, you are my son and you are all I've always wanted."

His eyes switched into Scarlet eyes and three tomoe patterns.

"Dad..." Yuri began running and soon the father was left alone.

"we're being attacked, aren't we?"

"Don't worry about us, my sweet child, I want you to pack your things as quickly as possible, only the things you need, nothing more."

She tried to comfort her child, but he had other things in his mind.

'That night, there was something different about my father's eyes.'

They reached their home; he ran to his room quickly.

After taking my shoes off, he started packing. 'Just one more item'

He looked everywhere for it and he couldn't find it.

'Maybe if I ask mum, she'll know.'

He ran downstairs, looking for his mother.

"Mum! have you seen the chain that dad gave me?" he called many times and she didn't respond so he went to check downstairs

"The lights are off?" He said as he looked around.

'There's something wrong. I can feel it, it feels so cold, maybe the door is open...'

He went to the door; it wasn't fully closed. He shivered a little because of the chilly breeze.

The door was unlocked and as he was going to close it; he stepped on something wet.

'What is that? it's warm and thicker than water, maybe if I switch on the lights I'll know what it is.'

"Click"

His eyes widened, and his breathing stopped.

'That day, I regretted switching on the lights because of what I saw, something no child should ever see.'

He fell to his knees.

"No, no, no, I'm dreaming this can't be real!

HELP! SOMEBODY HELP ME PLEASE!"

He screamed at the top of his lungs and cried as I saw the lifeless bodies of his parents laying there with blood pouring out of their chests and mouth.

"Dad, Mum, wake up!" he shook them and pounded their chest as he tried waking them up.

'There's still a chance! I can wake them up!'

He shook them and pounded their chest.

"Wake up! Wake up! Please don't leave me, dad mum I'm scared please wake up don't go."

As he accepted the loss, he held their hands. And lay in their arms covered in their blood.

'Dad, his eyes are missing, maybe I'm imagining.'

He wiped his tears; but his eyes squinted, he felt a sudden sting.

'Something is burning in my eyes.'

He tried to wipe them and rub them, hoping that the pain would go away and nothing happened. The only thing he did was mix their blood with his tears and eyes.

When he looked around, he saw a shadow of a man leaving the house.

Then he fell to the ground.
