Crime Unit-3H, Balcony.
"OMG, did she try to use a transfiguration spell?"
"Wasn't that banned last year? She will get a severe punishment now!"
"Woah, I must laud her boldness!"
Murmurs continued to splutter around but that didn't stop a few of Kyra's colleagues from rushing toward her with concerned looks.
"Quick someone cast a Paraguas Spell!" Anna ordered as she and Venessa helped Kyra.
(Paraguas Spell- a type of basic charm used to create something like an umbrella.)
A witch nodded and cast the charm, "Paraguas Anticipido!"
Soon a sheet in a bent U shape formed over Kyra's head and protected her from the rainfall. This sheet colored in transparent gold also emitted magic rays of heat that reached up to the ground. These rays resembled the sunlight giving the same warmth and right amount of heat a person might need during a rainfall.
"Let's go!" Anna held Kyra's shoulders and helped her stabilize while the other two stood behind her. Melisa, the witch who had cast the Paraguas Spell earlier formed a bigger sheet covering all of them as they helped Kyra walk back into the office.
Andrew who was still looking at the struggling frog, trying to come out of that bundle of clothes turned towards the Guardians who landed on the ground with their magic skateboards.
He rushed to greet them as Kyra was brought inside the office. Bowing to them, he stood there to talk about the further processing of the dead creature, and they nodded agreeing to his suggestion. Standing back on their skates, they vanished again in just a blink of an eye.
Kyra was soon covered in a thick coat after being completely dried through a spell. Anna sat beside and held her shoulders as she almost looked dizzy.
"She had used a lot of magic today!" Venessa commented making everyone else sigh out loud. Kyra sat there half-conscious, with her mind completely blank and body almost giving up. Witchcraft was a strenuous job, to begin with, and always had hell side effects.
"I knew she hated him but to the point of turning him into a frog! Hahaha, Bravo Kyra!" George commented making the others in the room sigh in disappointment. He was the worst in their whole branch, to be honest!
"Huh, finally!" At the same moment, Kevin I mean the little frog managed to escape out of the sneaker and everyone looked at him, mostly pitying his condition. He scanned his comrades who had already taken off their magic laser bands and then his tiny froggy eyes fell on Kyra!
"Kyra, bloody hell! How dare you turn me into a frog?" It yelled trying to walk towards her with its limbs but fell, his face almost kissing the ground.
"Pfft, hahaha!" Everyone chuckled though they didn't mean to. Seeing a frog trying to walk with two legs than jump was funny, and what cracked them the most was the way it talked, just like a normal human!
Andrew entered inside after taking care of the dead creature, it was now handed over to Death Evaders of KNIGHTS who would help it to leave in peace. He later sighed looking at the humanly frog. He looked at Kyra who was now paler than a ghost, and sighed again in disappointment.
"Seriously, how can you forget to close the door?" He asked in a much cooler tone trying to keep his temper in check. When his higher-ups informed him that the culprit was under his unit and worse yelled for letting their rookie sneak inside the cell, who did nothing better than neglecting everyone's safety, he lost his reason to live!
Gasps and murmurs rose up again making Kyra just sigh out loud. She had her own reasons, an explanation of how freaking it was inside, but will they believe it? She could only sigh again.
"First turn me back into a human! Right now!" Kevin spoke trying to balance again on his two feet. He wasn't used to a four feet lifestyle and hell, he wasn't sure how frogs usually balanced to jump now that he was failing every time he tried to jump.
"It's late, you guys should hurry back home as the storm might worsen tonight. Pack your things and evacuate soon." Andrew ordered and everyone nodded before hurrying to their respective desks.
"Get her some energy fluids first! I need to go meet the director! He is going crazy with all this nuisance!" He ordered Anna, pinching the space between his brows. Solving one issue at a time was the best solution he could come up with, now that everything got even messier than before!
His eyes then landed on the struggling frog which was trying to stand on its two feet and sighed before holding it in his hand.
"Just wait for her to get better. Until then, I will take care of you." He said placing him in his left pocket. Stitched at the bottom of his long leather coat, it was wider than usual pockets, enough for Kevin to fit in.
"But," Kevin tried to refuse sneaking out of the pocket but Andrew pushed him inside with his index finger. Right then, meeting their chief and begging for mercy was the most important thing for their whole unit and he didn't wish to add extra pressure on Kyra.
"Don't worry. Reversing a transformation spell is easy for anyone who had cast it. You will be fine by tomorrow!" Melisa tried confronting him. The poor frog nodded, resting inside the pocket and Andrew sighed in relief. At least he was easier to handle than the grumpy girl!
Turning towards his staff who were busy packing their things to leave, he declared, "No one will ever mention that Kyra tried using a transformation spell on that creature!"
He knew she had no better option for saving Kevin at that moment and hiding it was better than severing her awaiting punishment for being negligent!
"But," George tried to obligate but shut his mouth when Andrew warned him with just his red eyes!
"If you don't wanna lose your job, better follow my orders!" He said and George reluctantly nodded. Everyone knew how capable Andrew was in the whole violent crime division. His one word could easily unsettle the life of whoever he wished.
Anna brought some packets of energy fluids. They were usually used to balance a person's normal strength and were officially certified by medical practitioners. (Note- they aren't the energy drinks we normally use on earth, in fact, are like traditional herbal drinks with higher nutrient factors commonly used in Asian Countries.)
But worse just like our herbal drinks, they tasted bitter!
With a heavy heart, Kyra took the packets and emptied them one after the other as she needed them the most right then. The moment she finished two packs of mint-flavored fluids, Anna passed her a bottle of water and slowly rubbed her back.
"Tch Tch! Only if you hadn't let me inside, you would have never been this vulnerable!" The frog which was sneaking out of Andrew's left pocket, its forelimbs holding the hem of the pocket, commented making her brows knit together. It even shook its froggy head adding more fuel to her burning fire.
"And if you don't stop talking, I will let you enjoy life being a frog!" Kyra ratted back, her voice was still haggard. She felt a bit relieved as the fluids had started working on her strained parts, but just his voice was enough to irk every part of her body. She just wanted to burn him into ashes!
"You dare do that! I will cut your throat, Kyra Yang!" Kevin yelled back, tightening his hold on Andrew's pocket.
"Oh? How? With your little sticky froggy fingers?" Kyra questioned looking down at him.
"YOU!!!!!" Kevin scoffed out loud and almost fell out of the pocket while trying to shout loudly. For a moment, he did forget he was a frog now but thanks to Andrew, he helped him fit back in his pocket.
"Looks like you are feeling better!" Andrew stated looking at how energetic Kyra was bickering with Kevin. "Transform him back, now!"
And when Kyra pouted, he roared, "RIGHT NOW!"
He just wished to hide this transformation trouble from his higher-ups. Even if they get the wind, they had already planned to make up a story. And he was doing all this to save someone from getting kicked out! Someone who loved and respected dangers more than respecting him!
"Fine!" Kyra gritted before getting up from her seat with Anna's help. She wished to let him be and enjoy a few days, but that had more trouble for her pot, and she decided to avoid more that could risk her job.
Taking the little frog from his hand, Andrew placed it down on the ground in front of Kyra, almost a meter away, and took a step back. Everyone surrounded moving away from the two of them as Kyra started gathering her energy.
Kyra closed her eyes and back-spelled her transformation spell, "Batrochos Cariato!"
A magic hue formed between her fingers and opening her eyes, Kyra looked at the frog and forced it in it's direction.
1 second, 2, 3 and a few more seconds passed after the magic ball hit Kevin but there was no transformation at all!
Kyra blinked in confusion while Anna looked at her in shock. There wasn't an instance when Kyra failed to cast the right spell, and this was the very first time she saw her standing in confusion about her spells.
The frog opened it's eyes one by one and blinked in confusion glancing down at its still green sticky body.
"Hey! What's wrong?" Kevin asked in disbelief and sighing out loud, he demanded, "Try again!"
"Yes!" Venessa hummed and added, "It's not like you cursed him!"
And her words, made Kyra stare at the frog in confusion. She went back to that incident and tried recalling the spell she had cast hastily, in that rainy alerted situation.
"Cariato Capicano batrochos!"
And the moment it flashed in her senses, her eyes widened in utter shock. A shiver ran down her spine while thin sweat formed over her forehead.
She tried repeating the spell in her head, 'Cariato Capicano batrochos!'
And it was not a spell but a... CURSE?
Her breath stuck in her throat while her eyes blurred in distress. The last thing she saw was a frog shouting at her before she fell unconscious.
No, she wouldn't do such a silly mistake! Would she?
