The sword that had touched the ground then began to spread brambles as a central point, the point of impact of the tip of the sword. The brambles quickly spread throughout the arena, killing the yellow and green slimes in one go, and then covering the Colosseum with ice.
After the sword has disappeared, Kila was huffing extremely fast. He even held his heart through his clothes because it was hurting him too much. The sword of the icy dreams was certainly powerful, but it seemed to be a high-level spell, and even using only a fraction of its true power, Kila had lost more than 2/3 of its MP. And on top of that, the spell caused enormous pressure on his body, making him extremely unwell now. He was happy that he had managed to kill the red slime, and at the same time the yellow and green ones, but he hated the fact that he was in this state.
He also could not heal himself with his spell because it only treated injuries and not exhaustion. A Man had to rest to regain strength after all. There was also something else that bothered him. The fact that the second wave was going to start in a few seconds. He did not want to see a red slime again, because he could not counter a cloud of poisoned blood a second time. He would like if possible to go against monsters that were weak in water or its other properties, as well as wind, but unfortunately, there were very few monsters like that that were low level, or at least to his knowledge.
Not even being able to catch his breath and regroup with Cayron, a second portal began to open at the same position as last time. However, what Kila and Cayron saw was not what they expected. They expected to see slimes of other elements. There were a variety of elements, after all, even elements that we didn't even suspect existed, so why not? But they were all wrong.
What appeared from the portal were giant monsters. Finally giant compared to the size where we saw them on Earth. These creatures looked like insects. There was a praying mantis, a dragonfly, and an argyronetus (= aquatic spider). These three monsters were much bigger than what a normal human could think of. The 3 were well over 2 meters high, and all three were as wide as a car. A real horror for those who hate bugs!
However, seeing them, Kila was not afraid but instead began to laugh. He thanked lady luck for this match-up. The natural enemy of insects was cold. And what could be better than an arena incubating with ice and cold against enemies like that? These insects were certainly monsters, but an insect remains an insect. Who has ever seen insects in the middle of winter, below -10°C? Probably no one. And it was the same here. It was the law of nature, and no one could refute that.
Cayron was rather skeptical when he saw them. He immediately returned near Kila when the gate had reappeared but did not expect to see him laughing while holding his heart so hard that it looked like his clothes were going to tear off.
"Kila, are... are you okay? Cayron asked worriedly.
"Hahaha... Cayron you can take care of them for this wave. I need to rest and don't worry, they won't be able to do anything to you"
"What do you mean by that?" Cayron asked, not understanding what he meant.
"I'll let you discover. Good luck, even though you won't need it"
After this brief exchange, Cayron gave up. He could see that Kila was in bad shape even though he was laughing like a ... mad man. And then he guaranteed him that nothing would happen to him so he didn't have to worry. ... Right?
This time, it was the spider that opened the ball. It did something pretty basic. Even if monsters like them weren't very smart, they still knew how to fight at least. The thing it did was create a bubble of water, like Kila's, but with spiderwebs coming out of it. However, as soon as it began to levitate in front of the spider, the bubble began to freeze at a very fast speed. So quickly that in two seconds, the bubble that was 2 meters high fell on the ground. Not understanding what was happening, the spider did the same thing a second time, but only got the same result.
While the spider made its first bubble, the praying mantis rushed towards its nearest prey, so Cayron. The blades he possessed were extremely strong and sharp, which made hunting very easy for him. However, he was rushing at a much less impressive speed than he was used to feeling, catching him off guard.
Seeing him gently approach him, Cayron rushed towards him with all his might. With full control over wind, it could go at a speed that would be impossible for a level 5. He could, however, use only the basic sylphide because the system had said that only the element would be at the maximum, and not the class, which is why he could achieve things that would normally be impossible with a low-level sylphide.
And so in a split second, he found himself in front of the mantis, cutting it diagonally, thus leaving his body slid to the side and squirting his blue blood in all directions.
Meanwhile, the dragonfly was gaining speed by turning in circles through the Colosseum. The maximum speed of a dragonfly could be 70 km/h, which made it one of the most formidable predators of insects. So it circled for a few seconds, and as soon as the mantis was dead, the dragonfly went on the attack.
It saw that one of the prey was all alone and sitting on the side, and so decided to go for him. What could even a defenseless creature do against something as fast as a dragonfly? Nothing. So it flew at 70 km/h towards Kila, and just before reaching him, it had completely stopped, thus causing the insect to fall at the foot of its prey, or should I rather say its predator now.
The dragonfly had gained so much speed that its wings were already starting to freeze without it noticing. The cold was spreading through its wing, and as soon as it had reached its maximum speed and flew in a straight line, all the cold of the wind came upon the dragonfly, thus freezing it on the spot.
Seeing the insect, Kila couldn't help but chuckle. What had just happened was so funny to him that he no longer felt anything in his heart, but rather had a stomachache. He didn't think that low-level monsters would be so stupid, and he couldn't help but laugh when he saw them.
Once he had finished laughing and regained a minimum of calm, he looked at the dragonfly trying to break the ice that was on his wings but without success. Kila then took the ice around him and created a dozen extremely penetrating needles. He couldn't afford to use too much mana, so using the things around him was the best solution.
The needles then rushed toward the monster who was still trying to free itself, before entering its head and then into its brain, freezing it completely from the inside. Kila just needed to crush it to finish it, which he gladly did once he got up.
All that remained was the spider that always tried to move and do something, but without success.
As soon as she tried to move, she slipped on the ice which was on the ground.
As soon as she tried to create bubbles, they became icy rocks.
And when she tried to create a spiderweb, the only thing she did was create a web that immediately fell to the ground. All the spells of this spider had an aquatic property, which accelerated the freezing of all the things it tried to do.
Once Kila approached Cayron he told him that he could go and kill it, which he did with pleasure. He then slipped between the "rocks" and sliced the head of the monster, also leaving the blue blood flowing on the still-frozen ground as for the praying mantis. Once dead, Cayron returned directly to Kila and asked him why the fight had been so simple.
"Hmm how to say it, the natural enemy of insects is cold, so, normally, they can't do anything," Kila told Cayron, who began to understand. "So to sum up, the mantis who had mostly great physical abilities had probably seen its stats drop by a little more than 50%. For the dragonfly, it had simply accelerated the freezing of its wings by flying very fast. As for the spider, it was just because it was an aquatic spider, so the surrounding ice just froze faster than everything it did,"
The fight was much simpler than the previous one. So simple that they would not have said that they were fighting against bosses. But in reality, the fight had been so simple simply because of the unexpected effect of Kila's spell.
He never thought that the entire Colosseum would have been frozen and that the monsters that would come for the second wave were insects. Without the ice, it would have been impossible to resist without any scratch. And even if they had managed to get through the second wave, there was still a third, which made things even more complicated.
The two boys could only hope that the third wave would be simple because if it were not, they would have a hard time making it through it. Doing three fights in a row without any time to rest was very taxing on their body, but also on their mana, which was not large enough for them to do anything for such a long time.
The portal then began to expand and light up for the third time. This time, nothing abnormal had come out. Nothing abnormal except 3 people. Seeing them, Kila did not understand the type of monsters that these 3 people could be. He had never seen monsters of this type in such low levels.
They were three humanoid monsters. The problem with these monsters is that they were supposed to be high-level, and possessed a certain level of intelligence. Monsters in human form could even sometimes communicate with people, and if they were intelligent enough, they could even live with other races, even though they were monsters.
Well, it was possible only if they possessed the skill to hide their status from the outside world. If they did not have one, only death would await them or rape because of the beauty of some monsters, such as the 3 who were in front of Kila.
The 3 people who appeared had the form of triplets sisters. The three had the same physical characteristics, except for the fact that one of them had blue hair and eyes, another had green hair and eyes, and the last one had red hair and eyes. These two things were the only differences between these three sisters.
Seeing them, Kila could approximately remember what they were. She was probably an elementary girl, thus possessing exclusive characteristics of a certain element. So according to the physical characteristics that differentiated them, the first would possess a power related to water, the second to the earth, while the third probably had an affinity with fire. Therefore, if they could master their elements, then it would necessarily mean that water will be sensitive to ice, fire to water, and for the earth, well it will improvise when the time will come depending on how things will unfold.
But there was always a big problem. These monsters most often appeared in dungeons of fairly high levels, dungeons of level 50 or higher. Even if what seemed to be in front of them was the underdevelopment of elementary women, they remained enemies far too strong for it to be fair against levels 5. They had certainly obtained full control of their elements, but the system had not increased their max mana, which greatly complicated things.
"Kila, do you have an idea what we're going to fight against?" Cayron asked as he prepared for the fight.
"Just remember that they have almost total control over their elements. But since the system has increased our respective elements, you can always surpass them," Kila said to encourage Cayron. He did not want to tell him all his inner thoughts unless he wanted to worry him about the equality of things, which he did not want at the moment. They had to keep a calm and composed mind to face great enemies like these elementary girls.
"You take care of the green one and I take the other two," Kila said before parting ways with Cayron while attacking the blue and red girls with stalactites.
