Chapter 70 - Chapter 70: An Old Acquaintance

The persistent dripping of an unseen leak heard faintly in the distance, Aribelle glanced around trying to pinpoint its location with little success.  Listening to it drum on in the background she shifted her weight uncomfortably on the cot, inspiring an annoyed creak from its springs the complaint seemed unnecessary as she sat on its ill-tempered springs. The bed's wobbly frame secured only mildly by the wall it was pressed up against, Aribelle found that her feet had been planted firmly onto the fractured stone floor. Untrusting of the temperamental furnishing to support all of her weight she leaned forward in an effort to prevent herself sinking more deeply into the damp mattress.
