I can not help but smile because I can hear the cockiness in his voice. I can imagine how he smiles at me when he says it. I smile in return and then I say.
"I think you are capable to get to the shore by yourself, sir. All I am worried about is the fact that you can not seem to keep your eyes open"
I do not know how I got to be so very cocky myself? I wonder.
"How would you know if my eyes are closed or not?"
I smile again as I can hear a hint of sarcasm.
"I guess you can not walk with your eyes closed? Or am I wrong in my assessment, sir?"

I must say that I am enjoying this little back and forth that we have going on. Then I hear the smile in her voice and then I say to her.
"I am sure that I can manage to walk with my eyes closed as there is a lot of people that do that on a daily basis?"
I swear I hear a giggle in the background and then she says to me.
"Then I ask for your humble forgiveness, sir"
