Just another day like any other, but that will be changing soon enough. Back in Cinder's room, after taking a lovely long shower, Cinder looked into the mirror once more, but unlike before, his eyes carried no surprise. Only recognition, that he was something else, that he was no longer human, but what that was, he didn't know. None of the doctors, nurses, scientists, or anyone would tell him, but that would change today; he would get a big clue.
"Knock, knock."
"Come on in."
The good old doctor's assistant came strolling in like usual, but he seemed excited and nervous, unlike other days. After staying here for a month, he finally started learning these strangers' names. The assistant's name was Nick, the doctor's name was Chris, the head nurse who first brought him back to his new room name was Bella, and finally, his primary nurse who brought him food name was Jess.
"Good morning, Adam; how are you doing today?"
"I'm doing just fine; how's my brother doing in school?"
"He is astounding if I must say, straight A's in all subjects."
"Great."
"Yes, but now on to more pressing matters, today is a special day if you would follow me."
Nick said before walking off into the pristine white hallways, not letting Cinder even question him, not like he would ask; that was part of their deal, but Cinder had his own informant. Even though her information didn't amount to much in the grand scheme of things, but Rome wasn't built in a day.
Another 20 minutes passed before walking into a spacious white room with someone waiting on the opposite end.
'Who is that? by his clothing and age, he doesn't seem to be an employee....another test subject? What's wrong with his skin?'
"And here we are now if you would please."
Nick said, gesturing to the doorway.
"Who is that?"
"We will inform you in just one minute; now, please enter so we can begin."
"Alright"
Just like always, the doors shut tight, with no exit; they were locked in.
Settling his eyes on the other subject, Cinder started to notice even more oddities with this 16-year-old boy.
'His skin, why is it grey? Why isn't he talking to me? He hasn't once looked up at me; is the floor that interesting?'
(Intercom - Doc. Chris) "Welcome, Adam. I hope you had a good night's rest, today will be a bit special compared to the rest, but this will start being included with your regular enhancements and test, so today is going to be a physical test."
"But where is the equipment?"
"There is no equipment; subject 0194 will be your test, he did not make it past the first test, but he did survive to become an imperfect adam. Now show us what you can do."
"What am I doing?"
"Surviving."
Confused, Cinder turned back to the silent boy only to notice he had disappeared. 'Where'd he go?' Before Cinder could relocate his follow subject, he felt a sharp pain on his back. The sound of flesh ripping and blood spilling came shortly after.
Muffled sounds came out of Cinder's mouth, but he didn't scream; quickly backing away at inhuman speeds, he once again saw his adversary, but unlike before, 0194 put his face on full display.
'What..is..he?'
0194's face was ugly, to say the least, but also lifeless, with no pupils, just pure white eyes with saliva dripping down his chin. Before Cinder could rationalize what he was facing, 0194 came again. But unlike before Cinder was ready, after dodging, Cinder landed a solid kick on 0194's back; not knowing how to control his strength, 0194 was sent across the room, rolling uncontrollably.
"WHAT IS GOING ON!?"
Cinder could only hear the sounds of the boy getting back up.
'What do I do?"
Cinder knew what needed to be done, but he couldn't accept it; he wasn't a murder, at least not yet.
(Nick) "How long till he loses control?"
"He should start losing his sense of self soon, oh speak of the devil."
Cinder's vision started getting hazy; his mind was filled with thoughts of violence, his eyes began glowing blood red, his heart rate....didn't change; in fact, it wasn't even beating.
(Cinder) "Heh.....hah, hah, hah, how dare you...HOW DARE YOU!"
At speeds faster than before, Cinder appeared to have teleported to 0194, now, in front of his enemy. Cinder grabbed and lifted him by the neck before tossing him upwards like a ragdoll only to kick him like a soccer ball across the room, firmly landing face-first into the wall, leaving a lovely black print of blood on the once-white wall before falling onto the floor. Never to get up again, at least if he wasn't human.
(0194) "Ahhh," the boy started to get up once again but, unlike before, slowly, only to fall again; it seems something was wrong internally from his crash to fall.
(Doc. Chris) "Fascinating. It seems Adam hasn't lost any of his brain functions; if my theory is correct, he might of....."
Besides moaning and pained grunts, which was odd because if this subject lost all sense of reason, why could he still feel pain? But none of this mattered to Cinder right now.
'Kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill.'
Cinder made his way to the helpless 0194 struggling to stand. Cinder's red glowing eyes seemed to enjoy his struggling; Cinder cocked his leg back only to unleash a brutal kick to 0194's midsection. An unnerving cracking sound was heard from 0194's body before being lunched once again into the stained wall. The poor boy was no longer struggling, just twitching incessantly, but this only seemed to please Cinder more with a grin on his handsome face.
(Nick) "Sir, shouldn't we be more concerned? What if he shows that same aggression towards us."
(Doc. Chris) "Don't worry; I already have our team on standby."
"In all due respect, what can they do against him."
"Tch, it's not like this hasn't happened before; you act like he can breach this room which he can't; he's not at that level.....yet."
Back to the brutal beating that hasn't stopped even though his opponent wasn't moving anymore, but would that stop Cinder? In his current state, probably not. But it seems the doctors had other plans from the sound of foreign footsteps rushing towards him.
(Intercom- Doc. Chris) "Most excellent, Adam; the test was a splendid success, but now it's time to go back to your room, so if you would please follow these gentlemen out."
Cinder didn't hear a single word out of the intercom; he was too focused on his new prey, but these intruders were making him.....hungry, extremely hungry, and these strangers knew it, why you might ask well simple really, Cinder's stomach was growling in quiet a loud way.
(Intercom- Doc. Chris) "...You have my permission to neutralize."
One of the eight-man squad members wearing full-body suits made of aramid responded.
"Yes sir, we w...."
Instead of talking, these men should've already taken down Cinder, but they were overflowing with false confidence. If they weren't, they would've noticed their enemy was fully healed; not even a scar was left on Cinder's perfect body, but none of this mattered. Why? Because one of these "strong men" was dangling by his feet with a firm grip around his neck.
(Intercom- Doc. Chris) "STOP HIM!
(Intruder One) "AHHHHHHHHH!"
(Squad Leader) "SHOOT HIM NOW!"
Before any of them could take aim, Cinder had already snapped the intruder one's neck and moved behind another Intruder, but he couldn't reach him in time before getting shot in his left leg.
'Emm, what is this.'
Cinder tried to again reach for his target, but his movements slowed down considerably compared to before, which in turn allowed his target to dodge and back away a safe distance.
"BANG." "BANG." "BANG." "BANG." "BANG." "BANG." and finally, "BANG." from the man who escaped death successfully, not like it was necessary, Cinder already drifted off to sleep.
"..."
"..."
"...."
"Alright, he's down; that should keep him down for at least 12 hours, so... who's taking him to his room?"
"..."
"..."
"...."
"One-two-three not it!"
