Chapter 463 - After The Battle

The Blackbeard Pirates were forced to retreat as Doc Q had begun to use his expertise to save what remained of their crew and those that had been severely harmed.

The arm of Catarina Devon was barely saved since if it had taken any longer to treat then it would be more likely that she would have had to have it amputated.

Despite the best efforts of Doc Q, there was still a lot of muscle and nerve damage that could not be fixed up enough to get her arm back to its peak.

If she was not careful enough then her injury could worsen through putting more strain on it so it would become a detriment to her life as a pirate.

Doc Q had advised her not to use her arm for a long time until he had approved of her using it otherwise there would be no hope of it ever recovering.

Once he saw the charred and bloodied remains of his captain who had passed out from the severe pain inflicted upon him by Alyssia, Doc Q did his best to treat Blackbeard the best he could using medicine and surgery but there was a limit to what could be done without making use of more advanced methods.

Unfortunately the Blackbeard Pirates were lacking in a skilled scientist that could come up with a useful method to give him his sight back in that eye.

His eye was completely destroyed leaving one remaining so all Doc Q could do was to clean up the wound and prevent any further damage and infections.

He marvelled at the prevision and skill that it took to be able to do so much damage to his captain without accidentally killing him by letting the Electro reach beyond the eyeball and shocking his brain.

The eye socket was burned up and had mostly been closed up by the strong voltage of Electro and the heat produced by it so it had also helped Blackbeard to survive long enough to be treated back on his ship instead of rapidly losing blood from the open wound.

Blackbeard spent a long time being treated until he had been resting for a long time with bandages wrapped over his eye with a black eyepatch lying by his bedside that had been prepared for him.

Meanwhile the MMA had continued on its journey as Alyssia had taken stock of each of her new captives.

The new Devil Fruit users had sparked her curiosity and interest so she collected samples of them to further look into her studies on the Lineage Factor and the Devil Fruits.

There was the Clear, Big and Glug Devil Fruits that were within her grasp so she would not let them go to waste.

She did not have any big plans for her prisoners at present but she felt that they would be useful to her.

They would provide her with hostages to keep the Blackbeard Pirates in check a little more or they could be used for ransom if the Blackbeard Pirates cared enough about their lived.

Their value in other places was very high since they had a rather large bounty on their heads.

Each of their bodies were very strong and still not past their peaks so there was still the option to make use of them if she decided to kill them and extract their Devil Fruit abilities to give them to others.

If they could be used further to increase her trump cards then it was definitely something to think about carefully.

It was not like she would go bankrupt anytime soon and would need to be in a hurry to collect their bounties since there was a lot of berries awaiting to be collected from her winnings.

No matter what she came to decide later, Alyssia was certain that the captive would be put to use in some useful way that would be most suited for them.

The amount of restraints and Sea Prism on them had to be increased past the usual amount due to them coming from Impel Down where they had been locked in the Sea Prism restraints for many years and had built up some minor resistances to them to still be able to move around and put up some fort of fight when they saw an opportunity.

Luckily she had enough expertise to be able to put them into a deep sleep before putting several strong restraints on their bodies making them unable to make any attempts to escape.

Meanwhile back at the Marine Headquarters, there was a room with a figure sitting back in their chair with their feet resting up on the desk.

He had just finished listening to the news about what had happened between Garp and Alyssia along with the things Sengoku had to say about her.

It caused Kizaru to bring in a large amount of information that had been gathered related to the White Storm and Alyssia.

It included everything from the businesses, their people of interest, their affiliated groups and many more details that had been collected in secret since they had begun to make their mark on the world.

He was busy reading a document leaning back as he recalled the earlier conversation.

There was a thoughtful look on his face as he pondered over a possible solution using every bit of information that had been gathered and what had been told to him by Sengoku. 'Sengoku said that she is still young and easier to provoke into revealing some details that can be used now.

This is helpful after he had provided information about some of her view about the Marines and her world view. She may not have realised what he was doing but I cannot rule out the possibility that she could have known but said those things with some purpose in mind.'

The moment that Sengoku talked to Alyssia after the battle she had with Garp, he had acted rashly and said some things that had got Alyssia to mock him and the Marines.

After being ranted at by Alyssia, he seemed to accept his loss and retreated back as if he had made a mistake to say such things but that was not the complete truth.

Sengoku was a very shrewd man who had sat at the very top of the Marines for a long time so there was no way he would lose to someone younger than him when it came to talking to others and controlling the overall situation.

He knew that Alyssia was still young and had a lot of confidence in herself so he provoked that a little to see her reaction and to get her to reveal more of her personality and beliefs to him.

He achieved that since Alyssia was believed to have been a rash youngster but it was still yet to be determined if what she had said was in the heat of the moment or if she had thought more carefully about what she had said.
