Chapter 400 - Nica of Raijin Island

Near the Red Line were three islands and they had suffered the most from attacks ever since the war of the best.

Swarms of pirates, explorers and all kinds of other groups crossed the seas in search of adventure, treasure or just to satisfy their own desires.

On one island, there was more of a resistance to violent visitors and those that caused problems were met with what the people of the island called 'God's Wrath'.

Raijin Island was that island and it was just another day as Nica was reading a newspaper while sitting in a tall tower of a castle.

The castle seemed to be made of a special stone that did not attract the falling lightning that came from above and if it was hit by it then it did not look like it would be damaged by it.

Nice closed the newspaper and smiled a little, the fur on her body had become closer to her Sulong appearance and she had matured a lot since Alyssia left her there.

Her eyes were partially turned red but they were not as red as Alyssia's eyes, she put the newspaper down and said to herself. "They went and had some fun without me.. though being here has definitely been beneficial for my growth. I cannot keep relying on Alyssia all the time."

There was a knock at the door and someone entered. "Nica, those people are back again and they brought more ships with them this time. What should we do?"

Nica looked through the scope on a large sniper rifle that was set up by the window of the tower. "Just leave it to me."

Nica saw some familiar faces of people she spared the previous time and allowed to get away but they did not learn their lesson and returned to cause more problems to those living on the island.

Further away at sea, a large group of ships were approaching closer to the island and there were getting closed to the docking area that had been set up.

They soon found themselves a little outside of the range of the thick thunder clouds where a large amount of white lightning was stored within.

Occasionally white lightning fell down on a random location while others landed in areas that had some devices set up to collect the lightning or to protect the residents of the island from harm.

The captain of the ship raised his cutlass and roared. "Today we will take this land and will take all the riches and resources that it has to offer! All ready!?"

The cheers from those on his ship and other nearby ships that heard him had spread out and infected the others.

Each of them prepared for combat and readied their weapons but suddenly someone spoke among the loud noise. "Huh what is..?"

He could not finish his words when a strange and destructive scene took place that cut all of their cheers short.

The same scene happened again on each ship as they were destroyed one after another.

A large piece of metal shaped like a bullet flew across the sky from the tower towards the ship without slowing down but it did not end there.

The white lightning fell down from the clouds above like it was attracted towards the bullet then had no choice but to follow behind and chase it if it could not reach it before it flew further towards its target.

Everywhere it passed, more white lightning was attracted and followed then the same scene happened once more bullets were fired towards the other ships.

Even when the ships were not directly under the clouds, the white lightning seemed to break the known laws that people knew and followed the bullet towards each of the ships.

Every little bit of gunpowder or just the explosive power of the lightning that hit the ships following the force of the bullet hitting it had caused a massive amount of damage to their overall forces in a single moment.

The screams followed of those that survived as they floated above the water or struggled to swim with the injuries they had gained but the rest of the area was filled with the burning smell and the silence of the dead.

What was used was one of the newly developed bullets that had been made with materials from Raijin Island and it had excellent propertied for drawing electrical energies towards it.

Nica saw the potential for it to become a weapon but she had also worried about it being made into a potential weapon that could be used against the Mink tribe so she had developed the bullets for her own personal use of the island but had been trying to stop it from spreading to the outside world.

It was the kind of material that if used differently, it could be used to weaken the combat power of the Minks and cause their electro attacks to miss their intended target.

All it took was positioning some pillars or other built inventions around the battlegrounds where a Mink had been lured into then their Electro would be directed towards them.

It had some similarities to the way Alyssia's Electro core worked in the way it could direct electrical energies towards it so it was something that could be dangerous if used by someone opposing the White Storm or Zou that knew how to use it.

There had been increasing pirate groups and others seeking to discover the rare materials and secrets of Raijin Island once it had opened up a little more to the world but there were still times when violence was necessary to protect those secrets or to protect the island from threats.

Nica had a very high position thanks to the transformation she was undergoing and the more she had unlocked her Sulong bloodline, the more the people revered her as gods messenger just like Alyssia.

Nica turned to the person near the door after taking her gaze away from the scope. "Go deal with the rest. They should be no trouble now."

The person who was stood there was dressed in a black cloak with white and yellow lightning markings on them and showed a look of worship. "Yes, of course. Please leave it to us."

The survivors of the attack washed up on the island if they survived the journey there and were met with people dressed in strange suits that were made out of special fabrics that were resistant to electrical types of energy while they held some weapons in their hands that did not seem to attract the lightning from above.

Some were dressed in strange metallic armour or a mechanical suit that were both intimidating when seen up close.

The mechanical suit had poles on the outer parts and they started to release sparks of electricity which only helped to intimidate the survivors more.

They were filled with dread and regret as they allowed themselves to be captured and imprisoned.

The previous attempt to cause trouble ended better for them and they got away without having Nica act personally so they believed a second attempt would be successful but they never expected to lose in such a way and in a single instant.

Their defeat was just a test of something Nica had been developing and it was a simple show of her new abilities that had been developed for her role as a sniper.

She did not need to step onto a battlefield to help win the war if her firepower was so destructive and she could make full use of her environment.

Raijin Island was the perfect location for her to grow and she had made full use of it.
