Chapter 238 - Central Lawless Zone #1

Outside of the walls, a large group of roughly dressed people had arrived close to the walls but due to the surrounding forest not being cleared yet, it was difficult to spot them before they had arrived.

Luckily the people spotted them as they got closer and alerted everyone within the walls.

Alyssia was busy setting up her laboratory in the underground space after moving many things down there with the help of the members of Creation Union that followed along but upon being warned about the large group, she quickly arrived at the wall. "Who has arrived?"

Alfred responded calmly. "They seem to be a combination of tribesmen, bandits and pirates that are living on the island in another location. Upon arriving at the capital, I was able to pick up some information about the surrounding powers and the territories or alliances they have. Among them there is a large force that even the people of the capital do not dare to act recklessly against which is within the most central part of the island which is a completely lawless zone filled with all types of savage tribes and people with a bad character. From the information that you have provided from the Flintlock Pirates, I can assume that they are connected through mutual interests."

Tristan frowned. "So should we expect trouble from them in the future?"

Carrot added. "Do we have to fear these types of people? They do not look too scary compared to some that we have faced."

Medea looked towards many at the front of the large group and saw many totemic tattoos on their bodies along with their fierce expressions so she responded. "Do not underestimate them just because they may not look like your average opponents. Each group has their own way of life but also their own way of battle, we cannot even fathom their true strength just by what they have just displayed."

Yvie had a slight excited look in her eyes towards the group as if expecting a battle but she remembered Alyssia's warnings so she suppressed it. "Hmph, how do you plan to solve this?"

Alyssia smirked as she spoke. "If the capital is located in the far north and we are in the east of the island, then at the central part is them who are right in the middle and most likely they have also occupied a place in the south or west near the edge of the island so that they can leave the island and travel by sea. To cover such an area on their own they must have a massive population or a group of fighters with very strong strength. If we attack right away then we would be declaring war on them but if they are intent on making us submit to them or wish to do us harm… we do not need to rely on words and diplomacy."

Alfred bowed. "If it is your wish then I will see to it that they understand quickly about the overall situation."

Sunila already had her newly made bow aimed towards the people outside the wall cautiously and if they made any threatening moves, she would open fire. "Just give me a signal and I can take down the leader from here."

Alfred placed his arms behind his back and strolled towards the gates which were opened and several people along with Liushi, Archie, Clifford, Jester, Carrot, Tristan, Li and Medea exited along with him as Alyssia calmly watched from the top of the walls. "Aizah and Ashwin be ready to provide support from the air and keep an eye out for people hiding up in the trees. Ein and Yvie provide tactical support from the walls while Nica and Sunila will provide cover fire while targeting their most dangerous people. Pascia and Ann will handle the mirages and illusions to confuse the enemy while firing at any that get close to the walls."

Each of them had quickly prepared for a war to break out as Alyssia calmly watched everything that was happening. 'They have all been involved in many dangerous situations or faced a powerful enemy but they have never been involved in an islands conflicts before. They do not yet know the terror of being outnumbered or outgunned.'

Not all battles were based on strength alone and often battles were drawn out over a long time within different landscapes as hit and run or zerg tactics were used with their great numbers to either wear down their enemies and not let them get a moment of rest.

Many would be sacrificed in order to claim their enemies head and if the people of the capital were fearful of those within the central area then they should not be looked down upon.
