Her attack was like a fierce sea predator jumping out from the water and returning to the sea again crashing into its prey sinking its teeth into a weak point and making it helpless.
The force caused Liushi to stop spinning and be forced on the defence as he tried to push her back but it was too much for him to overcome.
His arms could no longer exert more strength and his legs were unable to support him.
The fist broke past his guard and hit him in the face which knocked him to the ground as the water was added to the attack to display enough power to knock him out.
Monera took a step back and her eyes calmly looked at his body with respsct as the countdown began.
"5...7..."
She then turned to look towards the audience where Alyssia was watching her.
"9.."
In a brief moment, she looked as if she had come to some sort of decision.
"10!"
"Wow.."
"Another upset.."
"I think it is good."
"Yeah, it was an exciting battle."
"I approve."
"Poor Liushi.."
The male announcer spoke up. "We have a winner for the karate competition! Congratulations Monera!"
"Ann sounded slightly disappointed. "It is a shame that Liushi lost in the end but it was an exciting battle. Is there anything that miss Monera wishes to say or do you have any goals for the future?"
Monera accepted her champions belt and placed it on her waist as she spoke into the Sea Snail. "Hmm.. for now I just wish to improve my strength and abilities so I will go where I can do that. I wish to ask those of the White Storm if they would be willing to accept me."
Ann looked shocked at her sudden declaration. "Wow.. you sure are decisive. Hmm.. anyone of the White Storm, what do you say?"
The audience and the announcers focused their gazes towards Alyssia and Tristan who sat side by side with each of their belts resting on their shoulders.
Alyssia nodded calmly and raised her thumb up into the air to indicate her approval, Tristan noticed her intentions so copied her.
Ann grinned as she cheerfully spoke. "It seems that you are welcome to join them. I wish you the best of luck in the future."
The male announcer sighed. "This really is a sudden development but very entertaining nonetheless."
"So.. this means.."
"Another champion from White Storm!"
"It seems that they have some potential."
"We must keep a lookout for them in the future."
"We could very well be witnessing history in the making!"
"Pfft.. so overdramatic."
Monera grinned as she watched Liushi be sent to be treated and then walked towards where Alyssia was sat. "Thanks for accepting me. I will not let you down."
Alyssia and Monera's hands locked into a handshake once more and the battle of power began again for a short moment.
Alyssia smiled as she responded. "If anything, what you have just done has already let me benefit in many ways... that would already be enough to pay for saving your life but I do not mind making friends with you."
Monera smirked as her eyes turned gentler. "I always keep my word, I will join you and I would like to be friends too. Sorry about the damage I did to him by the way."
Alyssia shrugged. "He can handle it, he is not so weak that he will not recovery from this. If he loses his spirit here, I would be greatly disappointed in him. A loss is a good thing for many people."
Monera looked a little surprised but then nodded. "Hmm.. I understand what you mean."
Alyssia chuckled. "In the end I still benefitted from this so I cannot complain too much. I am glad that I did not bet on my own people this time and trusted my instincts."
Monera looked wide eyed at her and questioned. "You mean that you bet against Liushi? You knew he would lose from the beginning?"
Alyssia sighed helplessly. "The result was obvious from the beginning but I am still impressed at how he was able to fight and struggle for so long. If I wanted to, with my winnings I could just go live a hermit life full of leisure."
Her bet was placed so that Monera and Liushi would reach the finals and Monera would win, resulting in a large payout yet again.
She still had not even collected the reward for first or second place...
