Chapter 162 - Karate Island #9

The White Storm's image had been built so far surrounding humans without any body differences like the other tribes with the exception of Aizah and the mercenary group was made up from humans.

Although she did not wish to overly promote diversity within her group, she did not wish to push for the exclusion of other racial groups.

Big Mom's dream of uniting the races may sound like a good dream to Alyssia but the way Big Mom tried to achieve it was ineffective because she herself was not a big believer in equality, all she wanted was a large tea party surrounded by all the races.

She continued to exploit her children for political gain and even said rude things about their appearances and differences even going as far as to call her own daughters third eye creepy.

To accept a Fishmen into the White Storm was just a small step in changing the image a little and help gain some additional support and cooperation from other racial groups.

When Alyssia and the others appear on stage and their names spread around the world, they will be connected to the White Storm further gaining them the image she wish for.

The White Storm would not discriminate between race or status and would continue to recruit people from all walks of life and cooperate with those that would lead them to become more successful and earn more berries as it grew larger.

The way she wished to create change was more subtle and it also provided people with paying jobs and did not take from others or destroy anything to achieve this.

Although it may take a longer time to achieve a positive change, it was better than becoming a wanted terrorist, revolutionary or pirate for taking more forceful actions.

As the next round came along, Ann's voice spread around the stadium. "Wow! Liushi has defeated another! Oh look! Boarman has knocked someone down again and is pummelling them! Tony is so fierce! Monera's fists are powerful! Belt has such a sharp kick almost like a spear!"

Soon after a match up came between Boarman as he tackled a man to the floor who belonged to the group of men who were plotting against him.

As he raised his arms to begin punching the opponent under him, the man underneath grabbed at the dirt on the tournament stage and threw it towards the eyes of Boarman.

Just as he thought that he had created an opportunity for himself, he began to thrust his thumbs towards Boarman's eyes as he imagined blinding him.

A fist struck downward onto his face as many fists followed until he lay motionless and as the dust and dirt cleared from the area, the man in his late twenties stood up and walked down the stage while muttering to himself. "That was close, if I did not receive a warning then I may have not noticed his action so soon."

During the instant that the man under him had grabbed towards the dirt on the ground, he became alarmed and closed his eyes before it was thrown which protected his eyes.

Since he had the man held down, he was able to predict best where to punch first and then followed with several punches until he won.

"Another win for Boarman!" The announcer smiled as he turned to Ann. "What do you think of what his opponent did?"

Ann pouted. "Despicable and shameless cheating, he should be banned from participating again even if he lost. Hmph!"

The announcer sighed. "If only it were that easy."

Keeping track of everyone who had participated and broken the rules was too much work and there were always those that changed their appearance or names to enter again many years later so some often got away with what they did and suffered no consequences.

However this did not stop there as similar incidents began to happen in the later rounds as the remaining people within the group got through the rounds and came across their targets.

Liushi was facing off against one of them and continued to avoid each attack calmly and countered with some targeted chops and finger spear strikes to the joints in their arms and shoulder.

Just as he countered and looked to be gaining an advantage, the man dropped down as if he had slipped and aimed a punch towards Liushi.
