Chapter 153 - Karate Island #1

Everyone's eyes were drawn to the ring where a man who looked to be in his forties, he was extremely tall with white hair and beard and a black mustache.

His legs and arms had a very long reach and allowed him to tower over many others in the ring making him difficult to land a critical attack to his head

Alyssia closed her eyes and saw something that was very interesting among his skills which allowed her to identify him. 'Purchase the Yoga skill with the remaining points.'

The large man continued to attack his opponent with quick punches that created after images from the speed as his two red boxing gloves had turned to many and hit the body and head of his opponent until they fell down.

Almost like Luffy's gatling punches, his long reach and quick punches were able to create a similar effect and his height allowed him to exploit the rules a little since his opponents had a difficult time reaching his upper body.

While everyone was busy placing their bets on who would qualify for the finals, Alyssia placed a high stakes bet which was on who she believed to be the final winner but also who the two finalists would be in the boxing finals along with a smaller separate bet on the final winner of the competition.

If those two people did not meet until the finals then she would make a large amount of berries from the high stakes gamble.

Ann nudged the man by her side and asked in a surprised voice. "Who was that?"

The man smiled in response and replied smugly. "His name is Jerry, he was close to winning to championship last time but has come back this year to win."

Ann looked at the tall man as he left the stage to allow other boxers on to fight their battle. "Hmm.. it seems that he is one of the favourites this year."

The man smugly replied. "Of course! Everyone, Jerry has won! Offer your support!"

"Wooo Jerry!"

"Awesome punches"

"He has gotten faster!"

"Undefeated this time!"

"Go flicker jab!"

Ann rolled her eyes as she watched their display but remained silent because she did not wish to gain the hate of the crowd for speaking against their favourite.

Many people participated and some were among Alyssia's crew who were under Tristan, a lot of them even made it through to the next round.

Suddenly everyone's eyes turned to Tristan who stepped onto the stage. "A female?"

"So young!"

"Animal person?"

"Wow she looks so cute!"

"Such a cute bushy tail!"

The man lifted his document and looked at the information. "It seems that you are all interested in that participant. She is called Tristan, sixteen years old and is a squirrel type animal human race. Her likes are boxing and medicine, it seems that she is a doctor! She may be able to help those injured. Hehe."

However in some peoples ears it sounded like the man was mocking her and saying to focus on her job as a doctor and treat the injured rather than fighting on stage, although it was subtle... some were able to understand his thoughts.

Among them, Ann was one of them and she stood up and began to cheer without a care for the others. "Go Tristan!"

Against everyone's expectations, Tristan moved at a very fast speed around the ring and was untouchable as she continued to dodge.

She made the best use of the Mink tribes agility and natural reflexes and senses to avoid any harm then ended the fight with a single punch.

The added experience and training she had endured over the years made the battle look too easy for her even against experienced boxers who had participated in many competitions.

She slipped past her opponents punch and got close to him, she sent an uppercut towards his chin and sent him flying back onto the rings floor.

"1...4, 5...8, 9, 10! Winner Tristan!"

She bowed slightly and left the ring to await her next battle.

"Who would have thought.."

"One punch!"

"Go squirrel lady!"

Many who had thought she would lose in the first battle remained quiet as they had just been proven wrong by her display.

Very quickly the stage became more lively as the battles continued and the next rounds began.
