In between protection jobs and other things, there was a certain part of the crew that loved adventure more than most and could not wait for the others.
Many children ranging from eight to fifteen years old could not stay still so Yvie and Clifford occasionally took trips around the Grand Line collecting all sorts of things and experiencing many scenes during their free time.
They occasionally revisited near Boin Achipelagos but without Alyssia to provide them with better protection and a way to escape, they left the job to Clifford each time to collect new food supplies allowing him many opportunities to hone his swordsmanship.
After several visits, there was still no discovery of the previous traitors of the crew so they were either eaten by the island or one of the many creatures or plants on the island.
Electro flashed as he jumped from tree to tree with a large backpack on his back.
Just as he was approaching the outer parts of the island, a large plant appeared before him trying to swallow him whole.
Despite the danger he faced, he continued to move unhindered as he removed the sword from the sheath at a fast speed and struck upward as the sword was charged with Electro. "Single Sword Style: Crescent Rising."
He brought the sword striking upwards, stretched his back and head upwards as if he was howling or barking towards the sky, the sword cut through the large plant at a high speed as he continued to pass through the opening that he had created but another beast appeared in his path.
Growing accustomed to many types of battles and enemies, he had grown greatly during journey so when faced with unexpected situations, he remained calm as he adjusted the grip on his sword and brought it back down upon the new arrival without a shred of hesitation. "Single Sword Style: Crescent Descent."
After completing his attack, he removed the sword from his waist with his other hand.
Another beast was appearing on his path and he began to show a look of impatience as he detected many more in the area.
Clifford flipped the swords in his grip so that they were both held to face downward and began to raise one sword up quickly and as it descended, the other passed by it rising up over his head then lowered as the other passed by. "Two Sword Style: Flying Crescent Moon Barrage."
This continued at a very high speed and many flying sword winds flew forward ahead of him one after another sending sharp slashing attacks flying at the creature ahead of him.
Just as he finished many attacks he landed and adjusted his stance and spun around in a circle quickly on the spot. "Two Sword Style: Double Moon."
Those creatures that thought to have caught him off guard were sliced up as both of his swords produced large and powerful sword winds around him that were sent outward towards the man creatures cutting them up.
Clifford did not choose to stop there anymore and flickered forward past the dead creatures he had killed only to end up near the edge of the island where he found a secured strong rope tied to one of the trees.
He put removed it and began to attach it to something on his waist and began to tug at it many times until his body was pulled through the air quickly but before he could reach wherever he was being pulled, it stopped once he arrived over the sea and began to fall.
However he seemed to be within range of the ship so he removed the bag from his back and threw it on board before he fell downwards.
It was as if he had done this many times before but his expression told another story.
He had a tired look on his face as the many children raised the backpack over their heads cheering, he fell further down and hit the water below. 'This is the last time...'
He had not grasped Moon Walk so he could not use Alyssia's methods to escape, after some planning and discussion with Alyssia before the journey she came up with a simple way of using this method as the rope is automatically pulled back in quickly with himself attached but to avoid damage to the ship or others, it had to be stopped before he fully reached the ship.
Each time he would have to endure the sickly feeling as he was pulled through the air at a high speed and then dropped into the sea making him completely soaked.
The problem was that not every attempt would be successful so he may miss the throw and get the gathered materials wet or crash into the ship upon failure.
He had to resort to these methods because Alyssia was very busy and unable to leave Baldimore for a long time because she was in a critical part of her research and almost reaching completion on the main parts of one of her projects.
As he climbed up onto the ship and shook off some of the water on his body, he looked at Yvie who had grown a little more during this time. "That is the last one, if I take anymore then it would be a waste. I also do not wish to do that again."
Yvie shrugged. "Fine! You got enough but I do not know if I can keep the others from trying to eat it all if they get their hands into them. Hmph!"
Her black hair had grown slightly longer as it and her white skin seemed shinier and healthier, her body was a little taller and curvy but she was still dressed in the same kangaroo one piece as she placed her hands into the front pocket habitually as if always ready pull out her slingshot.
Her strength and abilities had grown as she continued to explore new places and experience real battles while she continued to train and eat food made from special recipes and ingredients upon visiting Alyssia from time to time or eating the Boin Archipelagos food.
Clifford looked down at her and teased. "Right. Right.. but you still must love your captain, huh? Look at you wearing this thing all the time. Ahaha."
Yvie began to pout. "It is none of your business! Do you wish to get a metal bead in the face?!"
Clifford shrugged. "You could not catch me anyway. By the way, now that you are growing... do you not wish to graduate from using that small thing? I know it is easy to carry and conceal but I am sure that your growing strength will be wasted if you continue like this. You should take a look inside the ship, the captain sent you a reward for your efforts."
She ran towards where he had pointed and found herself before a wooden box so as she opened it, her eyes lit up with joy. "It is perfect!"
In her hands was a larger slingshot but was adjusted to the size of her body, although it could not match the one belonging to Usopp during the Water Seven Arc in size and shooting power, it was tailor made for Yvie and her estimated growth at this time.
Inside the box was also many balls and other shaped projectiles to be used with it and a bag to carry them on her back.
