Chapter 122 - Creation #6

However Alyssia also had some designs for other self defence tools that would be of a higher value, the most basic ones would be the extendable baton, portable staff, stun gun , handheld taser and a cattle prod or taser baton.

Each weapon was dangerous in the hands of others and should only be used if such methods were really needed so they needed to be put in reliable peoples hands.

Most of them required charging or a battery replacement so they would have to pay to have it recharged or replaced so if they were liked by law enforcement groups or nobles that had their guards carry them so more berries were to be made from that.

To stop others from trying to take them apart and research the insides, a safety mechanism was built into each of the stun based tools.

Much like the cane design that she had built for Alfred, they each used Electro to work so it was difficult to reproduce unless they had access to her blueprints and had a source of electricity of their own.

Alyssia, the old man and Nica worked on the generator for many years on Zou and had gained much during their travels to be able to make improvements to it so making a small battery or generator was not too difficult of a task for them now.

Since she had the Scientific Union things to handle too, she left some parts of those blueprints to be made and had those remaining idle people complete some other tasks on the ship or on the island.

She made sure to keep tabs on her own private laboratory inside the ship and wished to slowly change the inside and outside of her ship.

The top would be for the crew and the open space on the deck but underneath would be her own private laboratory and places where more dangerous weapons are placed like bigger cannons or projectiles for example.

————————

A group of people were together within the Scientific Union and they looked quite troubled.

Many of them were a small amount of the group of Ein's friends, a slightly handsome man who had an ambiguous relationship with her and some others who looked to have some authority within the Union by how they carried themselves.

One of the people among those with a higher position spoke up. "What has happened with Ein? We have been receiving far less completed parts from her lately, she is one of our best workers so can you possibly explain this change? I thought you had her under control."

He had an arrogant and intimidating voice as he spoke to the others that made them scared so the handsome man spoke up. "Ein… She still cares for me and the others but it seems her motivation has been down lately or she has been influenced by those new people around her. I have tried asking her what she has been doing lately but she will not say a word. Maybe she has noticed something?"

Ein had been requested to remain quiet about their operations for now since it concerned the safety of others so she was not allowed to tell her closest people.

She believed that there must be danger involved somewhere within the Scientific Union after hearing Alyssia speak and if it is spread out, others may be in danger.

It was true that dangers did exist but that was the sole reason why she told her that, not all of her friends may be trustworthy and had probably already been using her this whole time.

A woman walked to his side and held his arm with a gaze full of affection. "How could that dense woman notice anything my love, you are overthinking. Let's just try to find a way to exclude those people with her and create a misunderstanding between them. Before long she will come crawling back to us where she belongs."

Although she spoke to the man full of love and affection, when ever she mentioned Ein she had a cold look in her eyes full of hate.

She hated the idea of sharing her man with Ein but to get more achievements during their years of study, they had always used him as the glue that binds her and the group together, whenever there was a group project or assignment they needed Ein to handle the hard parts so they could achieve higher grades and win group awards.

Even to this day although it was not everyone that had been using her, some of her latest completed works or recognised theories had their names underneath her own because of this close group they had formed with her.

The woman had been with him for many years and they both kept it a secret from Ein but those within the group that were with them now knew about their relationship.

They all knew that they were playing a dangerous game by playing with Ein's feelings and taking advantage of her but without her, they would never amount to much.

The woman may also be in on the arrangement out of necessity but it does not mean that she cannot still hate the idea of her lover getting so close to Ein all the time.

Normally it was fine since they did not have contact but whenever she starts pulling away, he sometimes becomes desperate or obsessive enough to almost make a move on her.

When she noticed him get so close to her and making Ein blush turning away after he noticed the new people she was with, they both got into an argument with each other about it when they were alone together.

Their relationship may have healed quickly within a short time but she still held a grudge against Ein for it.

One of the members of the group spoke up. "How do we do that? She may be stupid when it comes to emotions and relationships but she will not be fooled too easily by some simple trick."

The handsome man linked arms with the woman and smiled. "Here is what we should do…. ...… .... Then we no longer have to worry about them again, so…my love. How is that? Do I get a reward?"

The woman scowled at him but gave him a kiss in the end. "Good job my love."

The man of higher rank looked at them coldly. "Do as you like but there can be no mistakes, the boss is not so forgiving."

As those words were said he left, leaving behind the others who showed signs of fear in their eyes.

The only reason why they had been accepted into the Union was because of Ein, their own capabilities were to the level of understanding and creating things from a blueprint or already completed theory, they did not possess the skills or creativity to produce their own work or something of a decent quality that would be acceptable to enter the Scientific Union.

They knew it, the others within knew it and even the leader and higher ups knew it but they were still kept around because without them, they would lose a talented scientist that studied under Dr Tsukimi.

If they lost control of Ein at this time, their plans would be greatly delayed and the groups only use within the union would be no longer protect them from being discarded by the boss and possibly punished too for their failure.

As they continued to discuss their plans in more detail, not far away was a figure hiding in the shadows without any of them sensing their presence.

In their hand was a small shell shaped object and they continued to stay still and quiet until the others left the area.

Alyssia stepped out from the shadows a little while later holding onto the shell carefully like it was of high importance and could not be damaged in the slightest.
