Everything about him was a mystery but his homeland, his involvement in MADS, his involvement in Punk Hazard and his overall achievements into many things including Devil Fruit research.
His true goals were unknown, his strength unknown, Devil Fruit unknown, body modifications unknown and many more things which made Alyssia have a difficult time identifying the much bigger picture.
Was he just a genius scientist forced into working for those within power or was he a master schemer who put on a kind face to get the resources and support that he needs to continue his own work, ready to abandon and switch to a new support once he notices danger.
Alyssia could not dwell on this mystery any longer. "First we need a new direction for the group. Destruction and coveting others work and designs under the protection of the World Government is a path only leading to death or a life of slavery. If this group wishes to grow and prove themselves then they need a new purpose."
Nica's eyes lit up. "How do we do that though?"
Ashwin began to pay attention and removed his eyes from his book.
Ein lazily sat back in her seat and crossed her arms. "Is that even possible to convince everyone?"
Alyssia shook her head. "Some or many of them may be unable to change but there are many with bright minds that wish to make a name for themselves. Many may no longer wish to live under Vegapunk's shadow or they wish for his research notes and blueprints so bad that they have lost sight of the previous reasons why they began experimenting in the first place. So here lies the challenge… we need to bring people over to our side and spread rumours among the group about what the end goal of the leader could be. Those smart enough to identify what the parts of each blueprint they have been working on would be used to make should be able to identify the true use of what they are making. Even the most loyal people may think twice upon learning that they would be attacking people within their own country and involving innocent civilians. This is step one."
She continued after taking a breath. "Next would be making use of this division, giving them a new goal. As opposed to destruction… lets call it the Creation faction. Our goal would be the continued development of each individuals own goals on what they wish to create but it must receive approval to get proper support. If their ideas are creative and can have a positive effect on the world… it can be produced and sold to different consumer groups. They are wasting their potential as being known as the Future Country, they do not need to solely rely on one man and the supplies brought in by supply ships belonging to the Marines."
The Engineering, Cyborg, Mech, Robotic and advanced science that they had, could be used in many ways to create a path for them to fund their own research from outside of the Island.
The World Government may see this as them trying to break away from their control but it would also be a positive thing since Baldimore opened up its science to the outside world and was doing trade with islands that were affiliated with them.
If the nobles could be targeted for some products then those involved with the creation and sale of a high quality item would make a large amount of berries to help fund their own private research.
If she could have many promising scientists growing around her and expanding their skills then she would be able to use her system to gain every small bit of progress that they had made.
If she could have these people follow herself, she would also gain much support and manpower to make bigger projects possible.
She continued. "What we need… is a merchant or broker. Alfred.. we need to contact him and the crew with him."
Alfred had the most experience in that area and knew to mingle with people of different backgrounds and broker deals.
He should have a good eye for what would sell well but also where to target a certain product for to make the best profit.
The tailors and various others were being put to use on her crew in their own way to improve themselves and make some berries, the small booklets that she had written should be popular if released so she had requested him to find a way to acquire something similar to a old paper printing or book factory to make copies of several of the most basic skills to help people pick up the beginner and basic levels of various mathematic, language, science, healthcare, childbirth, baby care, child psychology and many other topics targeted towards learning students or people in need of new knowledge because of a change in their life.
Right now he should be in the process of doing that on St Poplar or another island where he could find a place to set up a suitable place to trade and achieve this.
She had been expecting him and the others to work on their own things, gain experience on the seas while completing her task as a merchant ship and visiting to send supplies to Baldimore on occasion.
Since it was uncertain if he had completed some of what she had asked him to do and this new idea had come up, she believed it was best to make a call to him to check up on the progress and talk about her new ideas involving the group.
Although ambitious, it did help the people of Baldimore to find a way forward and no longer have to rely on the scraps provided by the occasional supply ship.
Ein sighed. "It is not that I do not believe in you but there may have been someone in the past that had a similar view as you and was not able to succeed or if they did, it may have not lasted long or had bad consequences. However, it is better than the alternative. What type of things will this group focus of making by the way?"
Alyssia thought and then replied. "High quality goods tailored for the rich or cheaper and easy to build goods tailored for the masses. The high quality goods can be to provide entertainment, security or easing their overall lifestyle. The low quality goods just need to be consumables with several uses or something cheap and easy to use by everyone. It could be a toy, security system device, a vehicle, robot helper, household appliance or even something to help with a job type. If something is difficult to make and the cost to make it is very high then we can package it as a luxury or rare item for the nobles to fight over."
Although the possibility of a robot helper would be small or something similar, Alyssia still had the many skills that she had collected that could produce an automated robot of some kind.
Depending on how it is programmed, it could take up the role as an assistant, maid, guardian or even a killing instrument.
If the Automata technology was introduced then living robots could be made so long as she intended for them to but there would always be a risk of them going against humanity unless there were certain safeguards in place.
