Grandmaster smiled after hearing his response. When he came to Shrek Academy, he was worried about Tang San and checked his condition the next morning after his return from the forest after getting his third spirit ring.
He didn't meet with JoyBoy directly after his return with other students from forest because he wasn't worried about him that much. He knew about his martial spirit and its capabilities and sometimes even felt helpless that he wasn't able to help him as much as he wanted to.
He knew that if any other spirit master had even one of JoyBoy's spirit ring abilities, he or she would most likely join the spirit hall and would easily live a comfortable life. But, JoyBoy didn't do it and instead followed his childhood friend and accepted him as his Teacher.
He had once asked him about why he didn't join the spirit hall after the awakening ceremony in his village when he was given the chance, to which he politely replied that he didn't like how Tang San was treated by the person from spirit hall despite his innate full spirit power.
Hearing his response made him feel glad that he had accepted him as his student with Tang San. What he liked most about JoyBoy was his humble attitude despite the overwhelming abilities he got from his first three spirit rings.
He knew after checking every student's records that JoyBoy was now a four ring spirit ancestor.
He wasn't surprised hearing it as he knew that he was already level forty when he left Nuoding primary spirit master academy.
He had asked JoyBoy not to register his current rank in spirit hall because that would create an uproar among their higher level positions and they would do everything in their ability to make him join them otherwise get rid of him before he grows up if he didn't join them.
So imagine his surprise when he found out that his friend Flender had made him participate in the spirit arena with other students and that too without wearing any mask! He almost lost his mind and gave him a harsh lecture on his foolish decision.
He knew what a twelve year spirit ancestor meant and had decided that he won't let JoyBoy participate in any of the arena fights for atleast three months hoping that any kind of sensation would die down after his three months absence.
Since JoyBoy was already in front of him, he decided to check his fourth ring ability. He had learned from Zhao Wuji that his fourth spirit ring ability had something to do with clones but he wanted to ask JoyBoy and know the full extent of it because he knew that the first three abilities he got from his martial spirit were all unparalleled.
Soon, Flender, bringing Zhao Wuji and a few other teachers quietly appeared beside Grandmaster.
"Grandmaster, you're good too. Ruthless enough."
Grandmaster didn't mind the discontent in Flender's words. Waving his head, he said
"It's time to bring them over there. JoyBoy follow me outside."
JoyBoy bowed towards the teachers with a polite smile and followed Grandmaster. After moving for some time they stopped.
"Little JoyBoy, release your spirit rings and tell me about your fourth spirit ring ability."
Hearing him, JoyBoy released his four spirit rings and used his fourth spirit ring and summoned ten shadow clones. His shadow clones also had the abilities of Hashirama's wooden clones meaning they are able to share information and don't get destroyed after getting hit once.
He first told him about the age of his black spirit rings and then explained about his clones. After hearing about his clones especially that his clones could use his spirit ring abilities and that they could assist him in his cultivation, Grandmaster was shocked.
He warned JoyBoy not to show his spirit rings and use more than two clones unless it was a life or death crisis. He also warned him not to be hasty in increasing his cultivation level and adviced him to take atleast one year between getting new spirit ring in order to have total control over his abilities and have a sturdy foundation.
After JoyBoy nodded his head with a polite smile showing that he had taken his words to heart, they returned to the academy and he asked him to be on the grounds next morning on time.
JoyBoy returned to his room, cleaned himself up and sat down on his bed to cultivate after summoning his martial spirit. The next morning, he finished his routine of daily workouts, absorbing the spirit power from his clones and summoning ten clones to cultivate, he left his room and went to the grounds after hearing the familiar clock gong sound.
Grandmaster was already standing on the field waiting for them. Looking at Grandmaster's calm and stiff face, other than Tang San, everyone couldn't help but feel nervous, even a bit scared while JoyBoy had his usual smile on his face.
"Very well. Today everyone came quickly."
Grandmaster nodded, his gaze habitually sweeping over their faces.
"Yesterday's actions made me very satisfied. Though some people didn't finish their punishments, what made me satisfied was on you, I saw the spirit of not abandoning and not giving up. As buddies, how can you be at ease to give your backs to your friends? What you need is trust.
You all did well, the trust in each other let you finish the test yesterday better. Before we start today's lesson, Tang San, go finish your punishment."
"Yes."
Tang San said and turned around to run outside the Academy. JoyBoy politely bowed towards Grandmaster and joined Tang San.
"Little San, I'll accompany you like I said yesterday."
Xiao Wu skipped happily towards Tang San. Ning Rongrong suddenly said
"Let's go too. Aren't we a whole entity?"
Oscar stretched his arm.
"Warming up works too. This time it isn't a punishment, its just accompanying him, so we don't need to carry weights."
Ma Hongjun, frowning and worried, said
"Looks like I really have to lose weight. It wasn't easy for me to get all this fat!"
Dai Mubai and Zhu Zhuqing already ran out
"Stop talking, quickly catch up!"
Grandmaster slightly stunned, looked at the leaving teens. Clenching his fists, Grandmaster silently decided he'll do his best to educate these teens.
Grandmaster's training for them was simple. One or two hours of fighting per day, with every day's situation different. Two sides of fighting were randomly decided. Sometimes 1v1, sometimes 2v2, sometimes 3v3, and sometimes even 3v4.
Everyday Grandmaster would give special restrictions. For example, which spirit abilities they are allowed to use, what they are not allowed to use, and other requests.
