JoyBoy looked at the Power Gem on the Gauntlet and thought
"I am counting on you buddy. I will really feel ashamed if I have to depend on hunting spirit beasts when I have you. I have decided that if I have to depend on killing spirit beasts to achieve breakthrough, then I will stop cultivating and live my life as a normal person. I already have sufficient abilities and skills to live a satisfying life."
Then he started observing Tang San who was absorbing his first spirit ring while staying vigilant of his surroundings. What he didn't know was that the Power Gem could feel his thoughts and emotions and it automatically started analyzing the process of the spirit ring absorption from start to finish including when and how it appeared.
By the time Tang San absorbed the spirit ring, it was already morning. Grandmaster asked him whether he was successful to which he directly released his spirit ring.
JoyBoy noticed that both Tang San and his martial spirit had grown considerably after absorbing the ring.
After checking his spirit ring ability, Grandmaster was satisfied with it. Suddenly he started feeling dizzy and fainted on the ground.
"Teacher!"
Both JoyBoy and Tang San exclaimed. Tang San checked him and realized that he was poisoned while JoyBoy was surprised because he thought that unlike in the story, maybe this time because of his presence, Grandmaster may not have been poisoned.
After Tang San removed the poison with JoyBoy's assistance, they still had to wait for three more days before Grandmaster woke up.
Within these three days, Tang San tested his spirit ability on numerous weak beasts who tried to attack them, observing its effects on them while JoyBoy was cultivating as much as he could while observing everything.
JoyBoy saw Tang San's first spirit ring ability and was inwardly shocked at the sheer versatility of his first ability. He finally realized just how scary a control system master can be.
After Grandmaster woke up, they decided to leave the forest because their supply of food and drinking water was almost finished.
While going back, JoyBoy told them about his decision regarding the spirit ring. They tried to change his mind but he was determined. He also told them about his decision regarding stopping cultivation if he is not successful. He requested them to keep this a secret.
Both Grandmaster and Tang San were shocked hearing his decision about leaving cultivation. Tang San felt a new found respect for his friend and was impressed by his courage to do what no one else including himself dared to do.
He decided that in the future when he creates the Tang sect in this world, he will definitely invite JoyBoy as a member.
Grandmaster was worried about his disciple and tried to change his mind but his student was determined. He could only gave his blessing to his disciple hoping that he would be successful in his endeavors.
Under Grandmaster's directions, they slowly went out of the forest with Tang San carrying him while JoyBoy kept watching the surroundings. They rode a carriage to return to Nuoding primary spirit master academy.
Undergoing several days of recuperation with JoyBoy and Tang San's meticulous care, by the time they returned to the academy, Grandmaster could already with difficulty walk supported on Tang San's arm.
After they settled him in his room to rest, he gave them a book in which he had summarize his lifetime of research on cultivating spirit power. Then he advised Tang San to go register as a spirit master at the Nuoding City's spirit hall ro receive stipend every month.
"Teacher, then you first rest a moment, we'll leave. At noon we will come back and bring you food."
JoyBoy politely said before leaving with Tang San. He noticed that Tang San kept the book in his Utility belt.
When they returned to their room, they found it empty. JoyBoy already had an idea about what was going to happen but he decided not to join the fight as he knew that he wouldn't be of much help and Tang San will be able to handle everything.
"Brother San, can you please show me the book teacher gave us for a moment ? I want to see just how much difference is there between school's meditation technique and teacher's meditation technique."
"No problem brother JoyBoy. Here, take it."
Tang San took out the book from his Utility belt and gave it to him. JoyBoy quickly read the entire book within 10 minutes before giving it back to Tang San. He had already memorized the contents of the book.
"Thank you brother San. I am now going to cultivate my spirit power. You should go and register in the spirit hall. We have to take food for teacher in the noon."
After Tang San left, JoyBoy summoned his martial spirit and started cultivating according to the method mentioned in the book. It took him some to adjust to the new mthod.
After some time he was surprised at how effective the method was compared to the academy's technique.
Although his cultivation was stuck in a bottleneck because of the lack of a spirit ring, he could feel that the amount of spirit power he absorbed from the Power Gem was atleast double compared to before.
The best part was that a small part of the spirit power he cultivated was absorbed by his body permanently increasing his physical attributes by a small amount. Although the boost wasn't significant in a single gain, he believed that in a week or two, it would become apparent.
