"While I was thinking, Su Yuntao asked me to take the spirit power test. That reminded me that I was still in the middle of awakening ceremony.
Deciding that its best to not show my abilities in front of Spirit Hall until I am strong enough, when I placed my palm on the blue crystal ball, I tried to control how much energy it absorbed from me.
After some difficulty, I was somehow able to control the glow of the blue crystal ball. Seeing that its glow was only one fifth as bright as when Tang San tested, I was satisfied. Then I looked towards Su Yuntao."
While JoyBoy was testing for spirit power, Su Yuntao's mouth kept twitching because of the fluctuations in the brightness of the blue crystal ball. He couldn't help but think
"Just what's going on today? First, it was the trash martial spirit with innate full spirit power and now this one has fluctuating spirit power. How can spirit power keep fluctuating ? And why did its brightness decreased by so much ? Poor kid appears to be struggling. Finally, it is starting to stabilize. Hmmm ? "
After seeing the result of spirit power test Su Yuntao announced
"Spirit Power Rank 2."
Hearing the announcement, JoyBoy tried to gently removing his hand from the blue crystal ball afraid that he might break it. Then, Su Yuntao collected the crystal ball, packed things up, picked up the bundle and headed to speak to both Tang San and JoyBoy.
First he explained to Tang San about innate full spirit power, its importance and how sad it is to have appeared on his useless martial spirit. He also gave a little introduction on spirit rings.
Listening to Su Yuntao speaking to Tang San like this made JoyBoy feel like cursing him on his face and he thought
"This is simply brainwashing. He doesn't even realize that he is speaking to a six year old child telling him why that child will remain a failure in his entire life.
Sadly, even he seems to believe in every word coming out of his mouth. That just means that even he is a victim of this large scale brainwashing. Spirit Hall really has become rotten. I guess this makes my next decision easier."
When Su Yuntao came to speak to him to invite him to join the spirit hall, JoyBoy didn't directly declined. He gave some B.S speech about power of youth and not wanting to join the spirit hall directly but test himself in the Nuoding Academy as a working student using Su Yuntao's recommendation letter. He also added that if he finds himself worthy, he can contact Su Yuntao at the Nuoding City's branch.
His passionate speech removed any doubts Tang San had in his mind. His speech was so hot blooded and full of passion that it almost made Su Yuntao cry.
Seeing his red, teary eyes, JoyBoy wondered if he overdid it. After that Su Yuntao opened the door to
"Old Jack."
Door open, old Jack with a tense face went to meet Su Yuntao.
"Grandmaster, what do you think. Do this year's village children possibly have capability of becoming spirit masters?"
Su Yuntao looked at him, made a sighing sound, and said:
"There are two who do, only it's a pity."
In Jack's eyes revealed a bewildered indeterminate expression. Enquiring further, he asked:
"Grandmaster, that outcome is..."
Su Yuntao said:
"This year among these eight children, only two possess spirit power, and one even innate full spirit power, it's too bad, his spirit is blue silver grass. You understand?"
"Blue silver grass? Innate full spirit power? Heavens."
On Jack's face was a downcast expression which was much more grave compared to Su Yuntao. He who had been village chief for so many years, naturally understood what significance innate full spirit power represented. But this innate full spirit power appeared with blue silver grass spirit; that truly was...
"Grandmaster, blue silver grass truly has no way of cultivation?"
Jack asked with a frown.
Su Yuntao could understand old Jack's state of mind. Instead of his earlier arrogant manner, patting old Jack's shoulder, he gave him a speech on why Tang San will be a failure in his entire life.
After that he gave Jack a recommendation letter for JoyBoy before he departed from the village without waiting to answer any more of Tang San's questions.
Afyer his departure, Tang San asked his questions about spirit rings to Jack, who unfortunately knew even less than Su Yuntao.
