Once he had dropped the call,Xavier rubbed his slightly stubbled chin, a faint frown creasing his smooth beautiful forehead.Sometimes he wished his mother was dumb, then she wouldn't have to be annoyingly talk-active.And she wouldn't be a pest to him either.
But sadly, she was not!
A knock came on the door, causing Xavier to purse in his hell-worthy thought."Come in".
The huge mahogany door pushed open and in came his accountant,Alexa Cruiser, straight and official to the tip if her fingernails,She had lasted more than any accountant he had,and that was an advantage of her adhering to rules strictly and not throwing herself at him like some workers do.
"Good morning boss".Though he had walked past her earlier, she had been too busy with typing away on her system that she hadn't noticed him.
"Good morning Miss Cruiser"He replied as formal as she had.Unfortunately,he couldn't describe her elaborately because he had never taken into full consideration the features of his workers, especially the females.
"How may I help you?"
"The file about the debit and crediting of last week hasn't been reviewed sir,I was hoping you could do that now so it donesn't mix up with those of this week."She replied, stretching out a stack of flat file to him.He took it,casting an annoyed glance at his already filled table.
"Sit," he told her as he buried himself in the files.Still reviewing the files,he stood up to pace about while doing just that, one hand in the pocket of his black pants.
"It's accurate Miss Cruiser."He said as he leaned against the only bricked wall in the large office, thereby facing her from the side.
"You do a good job here at De Luca's Inc", he was saying until he noticed the bright red swelling on her right ankle where she had crossed her legs over themselves at the knee.
"You hurt yourself ?"He queried.
She glanced at the swollen ankle and smiled nervously"Oh that,it's just a minor strain and it should be okay with a pack of ice"She replied.
Even if Xavier loved to maintain the strict boss-worker protocol in his office,it never meant he didn't care for his workers,They were humans afterall.
"Are you sure about that, let me take a look"He offered as he tossed the files onto his desk and went down on one knee to examine the leg cladded in a five inch high red studded heel that matched her deep red suit."How'd you get that?"
"I mistakenly twisted my ankle on my way up here" She explained.
Xavier frowned as he poked the swell to hear her wince. It made him wonder how she had walked all the way up here from the elevator without wincing or limping. The thing between women and heels was still a bother to him.
"If you will all keep straining your ankles in the name of heels then there better be new rules. You tell everyone that henceforth,no one should wear anything higher than three inched heels to work, okay?"He raised his head to look at her.
"Yes sir,"She replied meekly.
Just then the door bust open and in came Natali De Luca looking as gorgeous and vibrant but annoyed as ever.
"Mom?"Xavier called, his mouth suddenly running dry as he dropped the accountant's leg and slowly stood up.
Without bothering to reply him,the woman took one glance at her son and the woman sitting in the chair in front of him before her lips broke into a sweet smile.
"So you have a girlfriend already?"
