Chapter 1 - Back to the past

The gods are dissatisfied with the worldly life, they decide to rebel against the Creator.

The Creator, in his exploding rage, imprisoned all the gods, and summoned all living beings into one game world.

The world of Anchrea.

There, all beings have the opportunity to gain unlimited power. Once they reached a certain level, they would then be able to take on the challenge for the heavenly throne.

As these beings would only be able to return to their world after all of the Divine Thrones had been replaced, they overcame every challenge thrown at them.

And after forty years...

"I have defeated 10 demon gods"

Alex Edenfield, the black-haired youth sitting on the steel throne, spoke.

He sorted through his memories.

"I have destroyed the demon god Aamon, I have driven the Dragon and Giant races to near extinction. Not to mention the countless other mythical creatures I've destroyed as well. "

"Then why am I still not qualified to challenge the heavenly throne?"

No one could match Alex in terms of fighting power.

Be it the Elf Queen, who reached the pinnacle of all magic, nor the Necromancer who ruled over a hundred thousand souls, there was no match.

"Sorry, but…"

Alan, the great wizard spoke up, causing everyone in the room to turn to him.

"Maybe the timing is not right, if you can wait a little longer, until the next world update..."

"I can not. The enemies of my enemies will come to me sooner than waiting for the next world update."

Alex has made a lot of enemies.

His immense strength had caused many people to form factions with the aim of fighting him. Also, he doesn't have many allies either.

At this rate, he would slowly be cornered.

"There must be something I missed. It couldn't be this world's fault, from the start this had always been a perfect system. "

Alex had no doubt that the Creator wouldn't bother creating an unsolvable world in the first place.

The next update of the world is probably only to give players a small advantage.

"Are you really planning on going back in time?"

"Did you really think I would stay here and play games with all of you? There are no more territories to explore and no missions left to complete, just waiting for world updates or training every day, it would be very boring."

He's done everything he could.

Still, for some reason there were a lot of things he couldn't accomplish.

Living in this world, Alex also made some mistakes and missed many golden opportunities.

If he had the chance to start over… He would definitely do things differently, and be more careful.

"But..."

Alex stopped Alan from continuing.

"This peace will not last long. You should know that better than anyone, Sir Alan."

There is no guarantee of security in the world of Anchrea.

Soon, another challenge will befall the inhabitants of the world, and many will die once again.

Alex is convinced that he is the only one who can put an end to this endless nightmare.

Alex took out a scroll from his pocket with a satisfied look.

[Return].

It was a gift he got from Goddess Casillas, after completing a Legend tier mission.

It was a unique item that could only be owned by one person, and would become soul bound once it was given to a human.

"We will meet again. Thanks for everything."

A brilliant white light erupted as Alex tore the scroll.

Alex opened his eyes to see birds chirping as he surveyed his surroundings.

Extensive forest.

Unconscious people scattered around him.

Before coming here, Alex was an ordinary student, had a handsome face and had enough wealth inherited from his dead parents.

'Base camp, huh.'

It was the starting zone for all adventurers, the tutorial site before finally going to the world of Anchrea.

He finally came back.

"I will finish this cursed game once and for all."

One failure is enough.

Alex immediately stood up from his place, and remembered all the things he had been through here before.
