When Yuki remembered 'Shiva' name from her previous life that she heard it from her mother, her face became gloomy.
'When you shout that, you will calm down. Bharath country people came up with that sound scientifically, va is a damper. The same goes for Shiyon. You forgot but your mother also always chants Shiva Shiva slowly.'
'Ah! Now I remember, Shiva is called Adiyogi (means the first yogi) the almighty who knows everything, yoga also came from him. Mother went to the Himalayas in her 20s, wait, why am I remembering these things. Didn't you say my subconscious is dead?'
'But I am your subconscious; I can let you remember them.'
'Don't do it, it will only make me homesick,' Yuki blocked that.
"How old are you?" Shiyon asked to break the long silence.
Yuki just realized she zoned off and replied, "I am 14, how old are you?"
She genuinely got shocked not bothering to cover, "Why are you so short?"
'How can I answer that?' Yuki put her finger on lips and with a snap of her finger she replied, "I am too beautiful and powerful, so gods got envious and stopped my growth at a small age, so never do bad things otherwise you will end up like me."
"But you are very cute. I will also want to be cute so that I will get friends," said Shiyon as she was an orphan no one would play with her much.
"How about I will give you a big brother?" Yuki offered with a gentle smile.
That glowed Shiyon's eyes at once and asked, "Who is my big brother?"
"Me..." Yuki suddenly stopped and her cheeks glowed red and her eyes turned left, "I...I mean big sis, you can call me big sis from today onwards, I will take care of you and give you many friends."
"Really? Can I play with friends?" Shiyon asked in great hope forgetting that Yuki almost called herself big brother.
"Yes come with me," Yuki said and took her to her place.
Mira was practicing yoga breathing techniques when Yuki came into the room, "sit there," Yuki said and Shiyon sat on a round cushion made of straw. Yuki gave the yoga breathing technique and instructed, "Read this and tell me how much you understand from this."
"Ok big sis," she replied in joy and started reading. Yuki was surprise to see she could read. Then Yuki heard shouts from outside.
"Come out Mr. Akihiko."
"Why did you make my child get hopes in cultivating?"
"We gave you a place to stay, is this how you repay us?"
With a pained gaze Yuki rushed out. The children whom Yuki said to take permission from their parents came there with the village chief. The children whom she rejected also complained that she didn't teach them, their parents were protesting that Yuki was trying to raise conflicts between children.
Akihiko was trying to calm them, "she is just trying to teach cultivation, isn't it a great thing?"
"It might be great for you but we don't want our children to become murderers and greedy people...and then get murdered," one mother shot at him.
Yuki and other family members came near, Akihiko noticed Yuki and nicely asked just by turning his head, "Yuki, what did you do?"
"I just asked the children to go and ask if they want to cultivate, I don't know why they are making a scene," replied Yuki by looking at the kids. The kids looked scare but all of them were gazing with admiration towards Yuki.
"We know why you want to recruit our children, just to use them as meat shields, why are you saying it like something godly," another mother raised her point, she was genuine about that and what she said is true in cultivators' world.
Yuki never thought about it in that perspective and became aware of the bad side of cultivation. As she didn't value the life that much she forgot others value it and sincerely apologized, "I am sorry I didn't expect it to be like that."
"She is still causing trouble after falling to this point, do you want us to live in a forest or something?" A dissatisfied voice came to Yuki's left.
That made Kimiko mad and finally she said something, "You are talking too much Chisato, now we have to find a way to get back not blame others for the past."
"Village chief, we don't want them to stay here, what if their enemies come and destroy our village, send them away," a voice came from the crowd followed by everyone's shout.
"Yes."
Yuki and others understood they couldn't stay there anymore.
The village chief politely walked to Akihiko, "Please forgive us for our rudeness but you have to leave our town, our people are feeling insecure." He knew they were not bad people people so he dared to ask them to leave.
"How dare you say that? You are nothing but low lives, you should feel honor for hosting us," Chisato condescended to the people.
The people leaned backwards but their eyes couldn't cover the frustration, Akihiko didn't want them to remember them as bad guys, so he decided to leave that place, "Don't worry, we will leave right away."
"Father, I took a girl named Shiyon in, can you ask if they allow her to come with us," Yuki informed.
"We don't even have food to eat and you want to raise a girl?" Chisato poked like fish bone in fish fry. Yuki's fist itched but her subconscious didn't allow her.
"Shiyon?" exclaimed the village chief, "where is she? Did you do something to her?"
"No, she is inside the room, she is interested in cultivation," Yuki spoke with a dull expression by looking at his worried expression.
The chief immediately ran into the house and shouted in anger, "Shiyon, what are you doing?" Shiyon jerked in fear and saw the chief. Mira opened her eyes for the shout and saw them.
"Village chief I...I..." she got scared to even explain.
He caught her hand, pulled her outside and slapped her back a few times by saying, "Who said you to cultivate? Do you think I raised you for...?" Shiyon started to cry in pain.
Then suddenly his hand got caught, he saw who it might be and got jerked due to fear as he saw Yuki was mad and serious, "This is definitely not a way to raise a child."
"Who are you to say that? She belongs to this village, we need to teach her good and bad," he said like a righteous little hypocrite. He purposely said that to feel like a hero in front of his village people.
"There is no such thing as good and bad in this world," Yuki claimed, "there's only what you want to do and what I want to do. Shiyon, tell me, do you want to stay in this village or follow me?" Yuki gazed into Shiyon.
Shiyon's flickered her eyes as memories of the village chief slapped her back flooded in, he was a good person in modern-day terms but he just didn't know how to raise children.
He interrupted, "What will a little girl know? You can't take her away from this town."
"Shut up," Yuki shouted in rage that made all the villagers step back a foot in fear, he decided not to speak one more word, "once a child is above 8 they will have a conscious of what they want and what they don't, you don't need to decide for her. Shiyon, don't be scared, tell me if you want to stay or come with me?"
The villagers started to talk against Yuki's opinion by bad-mouthing her as a witch.
'I don't know why people always try to control others but at least do THEY know why?' Yuki asked the system.
'It's for satisfaction,' the system replied.
Shiyon got scared for their talk and looked at Yuki because she thought Yuki would feel sad but her face glowed with surprise by looking at Yuki's smile, the villagers got puzzled on why she was laughing when they were cursing. She was laughing because now she knew she was living life better than anyone there, happily.
"Look Shiyon," the wind just embraced them both, Shiyon covered her eyes from any dust falling into her eyes and saw Yuki through her fingers' gap but Yuki was unfazed,
With the wind her hair floated, Yuki looked like a goddess for Shiyon, "no matter what you try in this life, the fact is...we are going another step towards the grave. You born naked...you are zero, there's no reason not to follow your heart," Yuki looked at Shiyon with a soothing smile, "It's your decision, choose."
Shiyon digested the meaning and in a fit of motivation she decided, "I want to follow you, big sis."
The village chief stopped struggling to take his hand, Yuki released his hand and he didn't get the guts to argue after Yuki's words of wisdom. The people also calmed down.
Akihiko and others went out of the village, Yuki took Shiyon with her and waited for Gakuto, Katsunari and Katsuo who went to pick herbs for Yuki's alchemy.
The women were not cultivators so they couldn't take the discomfort of being out for 2 days. Yuno saw that and commented, "That's why people should start encouraging girls to cultivate."
He loved his sister even when she was waste, he knew every sacrifice she made for the family, so even when they lost everything because of it, he only blamed them for not supporting her since she was a child.
