Chapter 9 - Chapter 8

Hey, my name is Arial, and I recently became the maid of the first prince Marshall Malone. To tell you the truth, I was scared. You see, I came from a different world where the events in this world were just a game. I knew that the prince was an evil man who manipulated the villainess into harnessing the game's heroine. At first, I was tempted to run, but instead, I found something had changed in the prince.

Unlike in the game, prince Marshall was a lively, happy kid constantly getting in trouble with the villainess of the game. She seemed different too. If I were to guess, I would say Angelina is a reincarnated person. She did not push the prince to make powerful connections or boost his ego like she did in the game. Instead, Angelina let the prince be a child and encouraged him to be himself. It is thanks to her that prince Marshall did not turn into a monster.

Instead of feeling scared of prince Marshall, I found myself drawn to his smile, laughter, and the way he would lookout for the people around him. Even now, he protects Angelina from her grandfather. Angelina may not have told the prince what was happening, but he was smart enough to figure out what was happening. Unfortunately, when he told the king, he was told he could not do anything unless Angelina complained herself, but he found another way to help. Looking into Angelina's grandfather's past, he managed to find something to use against him and make her grandfather back off.

The prince is a good man. There was no way I could not fall for him. When we were both fourteen, I found out he felt the same way, and we got together behind Angelina's back. But since the prince was such a good person now, he told Angelina right away. I thought I would have been killed or impression for days after that. Still, Angelina really is a different person and accepted our relationship. She even went as far as allowing Marshall to break off their engagement, but that is not an option for us. If a royal dating his maid were to become public, then it would be a massive scandal. But, of course, becoming his mistress will be perfectly acceptable. It may not be perfect, but that is the only way we can be together.

The prince really is a good man and nothing like he was in the game. He protects the people he cares about and rarely has any selfish requests. I will do anything to protect him too. Whenever noble tries to gain his favour or corrupt him, I help the prince avoid them. It is not easy since the noble society is a viper pit, but somehow, I manage.

Hey there, Angelina here and I figured out what that bad feeling was. It turns out it was a pregame event where a group of wyverns attacked my home town. It was meant to have been a terrifying experience, but the wyverns were no problem for me. I took them down one after the other using my magic while in my adventurer disguise. I should have foreseen the consequences of my actions, but instead, I was blind-sighted when I next visited the guild.

My father, who I rarely see leave his office, wanted to meet the adventurer me. I was a nervous wreck as I struggled not to give away my true identity. He tried to recruit me into my families guard, but I managed to turn him down, but the most awkward moment was when he wanted me to marry Noah. I managed to talk him out of it, but my father was persistent, and I fear he may come back to the guild again. My fellow adventures were just as bad. Usually, they would back down after I said no to joining their party, but after I dealt with the wyverns, they would no longer take no for an answer. The higher ranked parties were, the worse.

I might have to make my way to the neighbouring town and start taking quests there. When I told the guild master about this, he was unhappy, saying he could not let a promising adventurer like me slip through his fingers. In the end, he said he would deal with the adventurers harassing me. Still, I might start a new identity in the neighbouring town because he cannot do anything about my father. The best thing about the adventurers guild is that they do not check your identity when you sign up.

When I got home, I had to hear my father trying to get Noah to come to the guild with him in the morning so he could introduce him to my adventure persona. It was fun to watch Noah try to turn him down, but my father was persistent, and in the end, Noah had no choice but to agree to go with him. It looks like I will definitely have to take on quests from the neighbouring town after all. I just need an excuse to visit and find a place I can teleport to, and everything will work out.

The only good thing that came from my fight with the wyverns was that I finally got promoted to B rank. But even that promotion might be meaningless if I have to start over. I should just take the rest of the month off and let things settle down. It is a shame I have to do this when the orcs are breeding and worth their weight in gold, but it has to be done, or I might end up engaged to my younger brother.

"You should come to Angelina," My father suggests, and I quickly agree. It will help kill the time I used to spend handling requests for the guild. "The adventurer I was telling you about might be more willing to join our families guard if you befriend her."

"Welcome to the adventures guild. How can I help you?" The receptionist is nice. Good looks, friendly and she looks like she could entertain me. If the rumours prove to be a dead-end, then maybe she could make this trip worthwhile. "I am looking for someone. I want to know where I can find the person that took down those wyverns."

Thank you for reading.

Who do you think the person looking for Angelina is?
