Early morning.
"Ah!"
Gwen opened her mouth wide and had to show Mike how some of her teeth were loose.
Mike looked at it and said, "It's fine, just one."
Gwen gently touched her incisor and said worriedly, "Would it not grow back?"
Thinking about how she looked with her missing incisor.
Gwen looked sad.
That would be too ugly.
Mike gave a sober nod and said seriously, "Yeah, it doesn't grow."
"No!"
Gwen worried.
Mike said seriously, "You must have been sneaking candy again and that's why your teeth are loose."
"No!" Gwen waved her little hand and said, "I don't have any more sugar."
"Then you'll lose all your teeth! You won't be able to bite the meat anymore!"
Swallowing hard, Gwen said sharply, "Daddy's a liar!"
Mike nodded, "Yeah, right, a liar!"
Gwen just looked at him
"Haha!"
Looking at Gwen's expression, Mike laughed, "Don't worry, it'll grow back."
Gwen patted her chest in relief, looked at the time and said, "I'm off, the school bus is coming!"
Gwen hurriedly put her hat on and Mike put her scarf back on and then gloves on before Gwen headed outside.
Not too far from their house was a station where the school bus would pass.
Mike dropped Gwen off at the bus stop, watched her get on the bus and then turned around and walked home.
The little one, who wouldn't let Mike drop her off, said that all her classmates were riding the school bus and she wanted to ride it too.
"Chinese New Year is coming up, isn't it?"
Mike counted the hours and his spirits shot up.
Three days to go, gotta get ready to get up.
Then again, I wonder how it's going with Eric.
He muttered in his mind.
Suddenly, a car pulled up beside Mike and the window rolled down.
"Good morning, Mike!"
Looking at his greeting neighbour, Mike smiled and nodded, saying, "John, going to work?"
John Brennan nodded and gave Mike a smile.
This was a handsome looking, gentle literature teacher, but with grey-green eyes full of melancholy.
"Good morning Uncle Mike!"
A little boy with blond hair and delicate features peeked out of the back window and greeted Mike with a rare smile.
Mike reached out and rubbed the little guy's head and said, "Good morning, Luke."
Luke Brennan looked around at Mike and was a little lost.
Noticing the little guy's expression, Mike smiled, "Gwen's gone on the school bus and won't let me drop her off."
Luke just responded with 'ooohh'.
"Come and play after school."
Mike said to Luke.
Luke looked to his father and gave a smile when he saw him nod.
He and Gwen were in the same school, in the same grade, but not in the same class.
Gwen was new to the area and didn't have many friends, while Luke was ostracised at school for some reason, and as the two families were neighbours, they had become friends.
Gwen would invite Luke over from time to time, and sometimes Gwen would go over to Luke's house to play, so the two families got to know each other better and better.
"Bye uncle."
Luke waved at Mike.
Mike nodded to both father and son and watched the two leave.
John, a very gentle man, and by the look of the other man, a man with a story too, but the other man didn't say, and Mike wouldn't ask, he just knew the neighbour was nice.
"Gotta go shopping and have a fondue tonight when Gwen gets back."
Mike slapped his head and turned to walk quickly towards home.
After packing up his home, Mike drove off, aiming for Chinatown.
There were many ingredients and spices that could only be bought here, and the place was already bustling with activity because of the upcoming Chinese New Year.
After shopping, it was already noon, so he found a restaurant and had lunch.
Eating the spicy oil-poured noodles, Mike was satisfied.
The restaurant was new and the taste was good.
Just as Mike was eating the noodles, his phone rang.
"Hello?"
*Slooorp*!
Mike ate his noodles.
"Mike, where are you?"
"I'm in Chinatown."
"What are you doing in Chinatown? Come back quickly! I'm at your doorstep with Maria!"
"On my doorstep?" Mike's face twitched as he said, "Are you so idle now?"
"Idle? I'm not idle at all!" A grey-haired Peggy Carter waved her fists in a spirited manner, "I just got a Chinese master to learn a some martial arts to compliment my other styles! Wait until you even lose your trousers!"
"Peggy!"
Maria snapped angrily at Peggy Carter.
Peggy Carter coughed lightly and said, "That's it, we'll be waiting outside your house, so come back soon!"
Mike looked at the hung up phone and shrugged.
"Another money delivery!"
Mike laughed and shook his head, sharply finishing his noodles and paying for them before heading back to the supermarket.
Needless to say, these two came and would definitely leave with dinner and had to buy some more ingredients.
Meanwhile, outside Mike's house.
Peggy Carter and Maria were sitting in the babysitter's car, waiting for Mike to return.
"You, me, and Mike, that's only three!"
Peggy Carter said with some headache, "What about the last person?"
Maria looked to the driver and said, "Happy, do you know how to play cards?"
"No!"
Harpy shook his head hastily.
He was Tony Stark's bodyguard and had come to be the driver for these two old ladies today, and his boss, who should now ...
Happy gave an envious look.
I hope Mr. Stark wasn't too tired last night.
"What an idiot, you can't even play cards, and I don't know how Tony got you as a bodyguard."
Peggy Carter looked annoyed.
Maria rolled her eyes while Happy looked embarrassed.
Peggy Carter's personality had changed so much since she retired, she had simply let herself go.
"Ding ding ding!"
Suddenly, Happy's phone rang.
Happy looked at the number, hurriedly picked up the phone and said, "Boss!"
Tony Stark yawned and said, "Where are you? Come pick me up."
"Boss, didn't you tell me to take orders from the missus today? I'm on the doorstep of a friend's house with them right now."
Happy spoke carefully.
Tony Stark gently pushed away the cover girl who was hugging him from behind, smiled and winked before getting up and walking to the bathroom, saying, "Uh ... I forgot, don't pick me up then, I'll be back on my own later."
Happy nodded and said, "I ..."
Before Happy could finish her sentence, she was asked for her phone by Maria.
"Back! Back to what? Where are you going back to?"
Just then, a very familiar voice of Tony Stark rang out from the other end of the phone.
Tony Stark coughed lightly and said in a serious voice, "Mom, I'm going back to the office, I have a lot of things to take care of."
