Dad's powers are getting fancy.
Charles cupped his chin and looked at Mike with immense anticipation.
Mike laid the drawing on the ground and mobilized the chakra in his body, forming a quick seal with both hands and holding out his thumb to his mouth with a bite.
The corner of his eye then twitched.
Didn't bite through ...
This was a little embarrassing.
Charles looked with anticipation.
Mike put his finger to his mouth again and bit down with enough force to break steel ...
Still no use.
The corners of Mike's mouth twitched slightly.
Charles looked puzzled.
Mike took a deep breath and couldn't help but mentally sputter, "Damn, who invented this jutsu and needs blood as a medium?"
"Dad, what's wrong?"
Charles looked at Mike in confusion.
Mike took a deep breath, squeezed out a smile and said, "Nothing."
With those words, he mobilised his chakra once more to make a seal, then with a flash of red in his eyes, two thin, thread-like flashes of heat vision cut into his own hand before pressing it against the drawing on the ground.
In the next instant, black mysterious lines appeared on the drawing.
Seeing this, Mike breathed a sigh of relief.
The chakra disappeared in a steady stream, and Mike felt as if he was connected to the earth beneath his feet.
The land beneath this place began to change under the effect of the ninjutsu, becoming just as it was on the design.
Charles looked at Mike and waited quietly.
After several minutes, Mike got up and said, "It's done."
The power that had materialised disappeared the moment Mike got up.
"Finished?"
Charles blinked, confusion all over his face.
Just a little crouch and it was done?
He was still waiting for Mike to make some kind of noise, and this was done?
Mike raised an eyebrow and said, "Don't believe it?"
"No!" Charles shook his head and said hastily, "Just can't believe it."
"Go and see if you can't believe it."
Mike pressed the drawing to Charles' chest and said, "According to the markings on the drawing, you should be able to find the entrance."
With confusion, Charles looked at the drawing and ran into the building to the entrance marked on the design.
Sure enough there was an entrance.
With a jolt of energy, he went back to his office, found a torch and rushed in.
A moment later, he rushed out with a look of ecstasy on his face and shouted to Mike, "That's too good!"
"Dad! How did you do that?"
"Squatted and did it."
Charles: "..."
"Is everything alright? I'm going back."
Mike said lightly and was about to leave when Charles grabbed him with a grin on his face and a playful smile on his face, "That, Dad, you're too much of a helper, just one more."
"What else?"
"The underground space is ready, but it's full of earth and stone, it's going to collapse!"
"Then just build it quickly ... don't look at me like that."
Charles continued to look at Mike with pleading and adoring eyes.
Mike slapped his head and said breathlessly, "If you weren't my son, I would have kicked you to death, you're so annoying!"
You said it was just a space expansion, but you still have to do renovations?
Charles smiled sardonically and said, "What's down there has to be kept secret."
"After the engineering team is done, won't you just use your powers to erase this memory and it'll be fine?"
"But wouldn't it cost a lot of money for such a big project!"
Most importantly, it would leave a lot of time.
Mike was stunned.
Also ...
He didn't have much money left, he could only buy like seven or eight manors, and he didn't know if there would be enough for this kids ...
Seeing that Mike was persuaded, Charles hurriedly said, "I've already bought all the materials and they're stacked in the meadow by the little lake!"
"Go over and have a look ..."
Mike rubbed his brow and walked over.
Charles followed, bumbling.
Piles and piles of ... steel and steel plates?
But Mike glanced at Charles suspiciously when he saw the supposed materials.
"Did you plan this all along."
"No!"
Charles shook his head.
Mike reached out and slapped Charles on the head, smiling and shaking his head as two cards appeared in his hand once again.
[ Name: Magneto ]
[ Character description: A powerful mutant with magnetism powers ]
The cards disappeared and a silhouette appeared.
The figure stretched out its arms, wearing a helmet and looking ahead with a cold face.
The shadow flickered away and Charles didn't see it clearly.
Then the deck of cards lighted up again and a rotating portal appeared before him, connecting to the underground space that had just been expanded.
With a flick of Mike's hand, the steel flew up like a torrent of steel, rushing through the portal and, under his control, began to fortify the underground space.
Charles watched the scene with bliss and couldn't help but laugh out loud.
He could already foresee the dumbfounded looks on Hank McCoy's and Ororo's faces tomorrow.
A few moments later, Mike dissipated the power of the manifestation and the portal in front of him disappeared as a point of light when the time for the manifestation was up.
"Dad, thanks ..."
"Whoosh!"
Mike shot up into the sky and quickly disappeared, the wind generated as he took off, sending Charles flying.
Charles rose from the ground with a depressed look on his face and spat out the hay in his mouth.
He felt sad...
Sad ... my ass!
He couldn't help but raise the corners of his mouth at the mere thought that the underground space below was almost complete.
Next, after securing the lighting, ventilation and all that infrastructure, he and Hank McCoy could start building the Cerebro.
A professional engineering team would be needed to complete this, and secrecy would be required.
But secrecy is a thing ...
As his father had just said, it was too easy for him.
...
January 12th.
Early morning.
"Gwen, we're leaving!"
Mike lifted Gwen's school bag and called out to the stairs.
"Coming!"
Gwen answered as she clattered down the stairs.
Dressed with the mushroom hairpin Charles had given her, Gwen straightened her dress and said to Mike, a little nervously, "How do I look, Dad?"
"Beautiful."
"Phew!"
Patting her chest, Gwen said sweetly, "Let's go!"
Today was her first day at this school and she had to make a good impression on everyone.
Driving Gwen to her new school, Mike drove Gwen all the way to the classroom door before heading back.
Gwen had actually wanted to come on the school bus, but how could Mike feel comfortable letting Gwen come alone on her first day at school?
As he left school and returned home, the phone suddenly rang.
Looking at the number, Mike raised an eyebrow in surprise.
Peggy Carter.
"Mike! We're short on people, can you help?"
A voice full of age, but still pleasant to the ear, rang out.
