Chapter 141 - Chapter 141: He's Rich

The awkwardness continued until dinner was over.

Nick Fury put on his leather trench coat and left Mike's house, shivering as the cold wind blew in the moment he opened the door.

Turning to the father and son who had come to see him off, he waved his hand and said, "See you later."

Charles and Eric nodded.

Charles didn't mean to embarrass Nick Fury, but he knew Nick Fury wanted to ask about them, so he said that on purpose, to end the conversation.

"Wait a minute."

Mike called out to Nick Fury and with a flip of his palm, he took a box out of his dimensional pocket and said, "This is for you."

Nick Fury took it, a smile slipping quickly from the corner of his mouth, and said coldly, "What the hell is this, I'll lose it in a minute!"

"Suit yourself." Mike said, pushing the door open with Charles and walking back into the room.

After the three disappeared from sight, Nick Fury, however, flashed a grin and hurried to his car before unpacking the box in his hand and taking out a piece and stuffing it in his mouth.

"Fuck!"

The taste was familiar.

Nick Fury gave a satisfied look and drove off.

Inside the house, Charles asked curiously, "Dad, what's that stuff?"

"Bear biscuits."

"What is it?" Eric said incredulously, "Bear biscuits?"

Mike laughed, "That guy loves them, but because he's now the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., he can't be bothered to buy them, so I give him a box every time he leaves."

Charles and Eric looked at each other blankly.

S.H.I.E.L.D.? Bear biscuits?

Who could possibly associate these two things together?

Chuckling, Mike headed upstairs and said to the two, "Right, let's find out where the school is being built in the next two days."

Nick Fury ...

After all the years Mike and he had known each other, to Mike, his friend, he was still the same Nick Fury who liked to tease cats, said he was good at washing pots and pans for dinner, loved biscuits bears and was a bit childish.

Perhaps it is because Mike is so powerful that he doesn't care about Nick Fury's status as a director that he has been able to get along well with him and has been friends for so many years.

At Mike's words, the two men nodded, their minds still a little confused.

A head agent who liked bear biscuits?

A shiver ran down their spines.

That was scary.

...

Three days later, Staten Island, New York.

"This is it!"

Mike's eyes lit up with joy as he looked at the castle-like building in front of his face.

He really liked it, because it was similar to the X Academy he remembered.

The world had changed, Charles' upbringing had changed, but what was his still seemed to be his.

The castle-like main building, the gardens at the back, the main road at the front, the distant woods, the small lake and even the grounds for various sporting events ...

It's beautiful!

The important thing is that the area is large enough.

Charles and Eric were also very pleased, but sighed reluctantly when they remembered the price of the place.

It was too expensive!

The money they had saved was not enough to cover the last few digits.

They dragged Mike aside and Charles stammered, "Well, Dad, Eric and I don't have that much money."

"Money? Not a problem."

Eric's eyes lit up and he said, "Just use your powers..."

Without waiting for Mike to open his mouth, Charles frowned and began, "I won't do it."

Mike looked at the two men and raised his chest, showing his old father's authority, and said with a bland face, "I told you, money is not an issue!"

The two men looked at Mike suspiciously and said, "Dad, do you know how much money is here?"

"It's just a little over 100 million?"

Mike said with disinterest.

They looked at each other blankly and Charles couldn't help but say, "Dad, that's a billion, not a million."

If it was a million, he was sure his dad could come up with it, but now it was 1.3 billion!

Even if his dad had sold his family's farm and the villa in New York, he wouldn't have been able to pay a fraction of that amount.

Mike smiled mysteriously at the two men and waved to the agent who had shown them the house, saying, "Here, I'll buy it."

The lady was slightly surprised, but her good professional habits did not let her show any unpleasant expressions.

From the way the three men were dressed, they didn't look like billionaires, but she had heard that some rich people had such eccentricities, so she simply smiled and said, "Sir, are you sure you want to buy this place?"

Mike nodded his head.

The lady smiled, but she was a bit excited.

If the deal did come through, she would definitely have a large bonus.

She couldn't help but be a little excited and she said, "Sir, do you need time to get the money together?"

"No."

The Mike said, "No," and took a bank card out of his pocket and handed it over.

The agent took it and said, "Follow me, please."

Seeing this, Charles and Eric couldn't help but pull Mike's hand.

"Dad, don't be a prankster, Eric and I know exactly what's going on in our house."

Eric nodded and looked at Mike worriedly.

They say oldold people become more like kids the older they get.

He was prepared for that, but the way Mike looked now ...

Wait a minute, what about ... Parkinson's?

Eric was horrified and looked at Mike with a pained, torn, sad look in his eyes ...

Mike was about to give Charles an explanation when he was startled by the look in Eric's eyes and turned his head to look at it, the corners of his mouth twitching.

What kind of look is that?

What the hell did you have in mind?

"Sir?"

The agency lady called back.

Mike simply gave up on explaining to the two men, and followed the woman.

Let the facts speak for themselves!

Half an hour later, Charles signed his name on the purchase contract with a dazed look on his face.

The feeling was even more shocking than when you're on a horse and suddenly find you can't do anything about it.

What is it?

How could I have bought it?

Is it really my name on the top?

Turning to Eric, he looked at him and saw that he too was confused and shocked.

Charles coughed softly and said, "OK, you can go now."

"Good cooperation, sir!"

The agency lady shook Mike's hand, but gave him a wink.

This was a rich man, and richer than she could have imagined.

Mike waved his hand and said, "See you later."

The agency lady squeezed Mike's hand, clasped Mike's palm and, to the speechless expressions of both Eric and Charles, turned and left.

.....
