Synopsis

Chapter 1 - Whispers from the shadows.

Evidence #401- An excerpt from the beast's journal.

"If you are reading this then you have clearly stumbled blindly into a location I suggest you leave as soon as you can. Your existence in this location will put you at risk, your family at risk as well as any friends you may have. If you are stupid or alone then read on.

If you are a Hunter from the church, I would like to quickly mention, I look forward to ripping your throat apart while I piss on your lifeless corpse. Also while I'm at it. if you are one of the traitors sent by my ex-wife to drag me back to Romania, please let her know I will be disappointing her yet again.

Right so how would you like a summary of my story so far?

Well, it starts off as your typical romantic tragedy really, a young serf and a noblewoman fall in love, they go against everyone's wishes and pursue a relationship. She was the daughter of the local Baron, I was the typical brutish soldier in the garrison.

Anyways let's skip the boring romance bits, for now, I really need to keep this brief, the Iron Guard is closing in on my location, I don't really need to feed right now and killing them to prove as point leaves a body trail to me. Not long after me and my soon to be wife married in secret, I was cursed by a witch (I know right? Bad luck). Revenge for me killing her son in the previous war no doubt.

The curse itself ravaged my body, the first things that changed were my teeth, replaced by fangs, perfect for the only drawback of the curse. The curse also made me stronger and faster than a normal human, to what extent I'm still not really sure. I can guess what you are thinking? Oh wow. the really bad curse only made you stronger? Well, the downside is that I consume Human blood like it is going out of fashion.

Failure to drink blood causes things to happen to my body, the first makes me go into a Bloodlust so strong that I can't break out of it until I have drunk a month's worth of blood (Which is a lot, trust me.) The second is that my body slowly turns into a husk that can barely move, not really how I want to spend my unending life.

It took me quite a while to come to terms with what I was doing ], after all the people I prayed on were the people I was meant to be protecting. That all changed when I tried to stop myself from drinking for the first time, that mistake still haunts me to this day.

During the following rampage, I killed two of my friends, I also attacked my wife at the time, however, I didn't kill her, something happened and she mutated like me. Amazed by this I spent a year r two studying the mutation within her and with it, I found a way to spread the curse to others without fail.

It seems the witch had used some form of blood magic to create me as all I had to do was remove a significant amount of Human blood and replace it with my own. Long story short, I created an army of Vampires, furthermore, unique abilities began to spring up within my horde.

As the original I dedicated a large amount of my personal time exploring my powers as they came into being, the thing I forgot to mention about my species is that we continuously evolve over time depending on the strength of the person who turned you and the amount of blood you consume.

As I sired more and more vampires, I noticed that my overall power began to decrease, I now believe that was due to me doing too much with not enough power. Well, it doesn't happen now, so that's the reason or I mutated again. As I grew weaker, my wife grew stronger and stronger, too strong in fact. She overthrew me, took my throne and tried to stake me through the heart, how does the modern lyric go?

"Shot through the heart and you're to blame, you give love a bad name...

Stake through the heart and you're to blame, you give love a bad name..."

Sort of works I guess, anyways back to the story, I fled Romania nearly 600 years ago, slowly I have regained my strength and powers. Enough about me for now, I feel like whoever ends up reading this will be tied to my fate, if that is the case I guess we will see each other soon.

For now, I think I'm going to enjoy my retirement a bit more before the events I'm running from catch up with me. Now for the fun bit, if you are a random person reading this, then please enter the room in front of you.

if you are a hunter sent by the church. then please go into the room on the right, Iron guard into the room on your left. Just so you know the cave is sealed and you will not be able to leave until you enter the correct room.

I will now hand over the show to you, the reader, pick the right room or you may regret it, oh. I alm9st forgot, thanks for reading the ramblings of an old man, see you soon.
