Chapter 7 - SOUTH KOREA

"What the hell is happening here? I have asked you all to submit the report on Monday and to arrange the schedule for our new exhibit."

"Sir, since the opening was announced on short notice, we still couldn't get a reply from the guest." Kevin looked down as he stood in front of the staffs to cover for them as usual.

"Who is the guest? Who in this country have the audacity to make us wait?' The office was under fire since the past one hour and they knew, it would only go up and up as time passes.

"It's the painter from the last exhibit held by TK group. He has gained some followers after that event and people are dying to see a live event from him." Kevin knew these excuses would only worsen the situation.

"Are you waiting to get a reply from a painter who worked for TK? Are you kidding me, Kevin?" He shouted looking at his assistant who took two steps aback.

"He will be a good choice."

"Cut that shit now and change the whole program, make it to some live book reading or some other talent show. We are not doing painting for the inauguration."

The others looked at each other as there were only two days for the program and he is changing the entire concept they worked on. They have even let out the broachers and noticed the other companies about the event for their support. It would be really hard to change as the installations were almost getting done in the exhibit hall. Kevin noticed the panic in the staff's face and decided to negotiate.

"Sir, we have already reached the last stage of preparation. It is impossible to make sudden changes."

"Who asked you to fix the whole schedule on your own? Are we perhaps running low of fund that you decided to take refuge on a man who had the audacity to not respond to our company?' His deep voice was echoing in the large conference hall and everything went silent, even the turning of the paper folds stopped.

"You said, you we-were busy with the presentation for our financial budget and asked to manage on our own."

Kevin was the only one who answers the man as all were scared to do so and the man himself doesn't like when staffs talk back to him. He groaned as the answer was not fulfilling his expectations, he was already tensed about the presentation as his father would be in the board meeting after five years. TK company was one of his rivals and the company who spied on his last year exhibition so bringing an artist who worked there was like a degradation.

"Do as I say, I don't want any excuses regarding this. I am paying you all not to just roam around here and waste time so for once, get back to work finish it on time." He ordered as the staffs flinched, while some cursed him internally.

"Y-yes sir." Kevin replied as he had no other option.

"Work from six in the morning and leave after one at night for two days. Three hours of sleep is enough till this is over. Cut short the break and eat food while working. Add twice the number of labors for the installation and call in the best artist out there." He left them confused and walked to his cabin.

"Seriously? We even invited everyone relating to the painting." One of the staff huffed while throwing her identity card to the table.

"We need to start our work now or else be ready to be fired." Another staff answered before running to her cabin.

"Arrange a meeting in five minutes with everyone in the team and I will keep another meeting with the labors after this."

Kevin called all the staffs before running to his cabin to take the alternative plan which he had prepared. He knew that his boss would always bring up an excuse at the last minute, because he has been working for him since the past few years. None of the programs and events went smoothly as long as it was under him. The past years have got more hard because the man, started keeping miles of distance between him and the staffs.

"Who am I to contact now?" Kevin flipped through the papers which he had arranged.

He always thought about one person in particular but was not planning on calling thinking his boss wouldn't allow. It wouldn't make people surprised or anything because the man is a company friend and a celeb which everyone knows. Since, the occasion was book reading, it would definitely be popular among the public.

The luxurious cabin of the Vice Chairman was closed tight and the grey curtains where pulled over all side, making the room totally dark. A small humming of jazz being played in the background from his old recorder and new painting covering the white walls. He sat at the centre in his chair with eyes stuck on the laptop and fingers busily moving along all keys.

The presentation was by Thursday meaning, the next day after the exhibition ends giving him no time to prepare. He had his own perspective over everything that he ends up reworking everything on his own, doubling the load. He took charge of the company seven years ago when he was just twenty to help his father and in just two years, his father gave him the full authority.

Kim Jung-Won, one of the most established young business tycoon in the fashion and cultural industry in South Korea. He not only gained fame as the business man but also as the main model for his fashion brand which was now spread over hundreds of countries. He was also called to participate in some movies as his charisma was worth to be used in the screen. Looking back at the success he gathered, it looked perfect for his age but there was something that he was lacking.
