I groan as I roll out of bed. why does school have to start so early. I wash up and chose one of my more flattering outfits to wear to school. I grabbed my phone and checked the notifications

I can imagine her sighing and shaking her head at me. me and ruby have been bffs for like ever. she's the prettiest girl I've ever met but I'm a closeted gay so we'd NEVER happen. she has hazel skin, dark hair and caramel coloured eyes. when we were little people used to think we were related because the only difference was I have dark green eyes and she's slightly taller.
eventually I meet ruby who is dressed up in like an alt style with light make up.

as we walk into school laughing I see her check out Ace, who is walking with his popular jock friends, tristan and caleb. "keiran did ace get hotter over the summer or is it just me" ruby says as she nudges me firmly.
