Smooth
- Santana & Rob Thomas –
Man, it's a hot one .. Like seven inches from the midday sun
Well, I hear you whisper and the words melt everyone
But you stay so cool .. My muñequita, my Spanish Harlem Mona Lisa

Less than half an hour later, it was time to enjoy the banquet the host had prepared after a long series of previous business speeches from various influential figures.
Vince Hong and Kevin Lam breathed a sigh of relief, each inadvertently sighing without holding back as the host of the event invited the audience to take whatever dish they wanted to the corner of the ballroom, where many high-class dishes and drinks were available.
"You guys, you young people," sneered David Lam, Kevin's father. He could only click his tongue to see the impatience of the two young men to leave the party since earlier. "Enjoy eating and drinking first, then it's up to you where you will wander."
"Thank you for the invitation, Mister Lam." Vince Hong still shows his courtesy to Kevin's father. He lowered his head for a moment to a chuckling David Lam.
"It's okay. I have to thank you, Vin. If you weren't there, where would this bad boy want me to take to an event like this?" He patted his son who was standing next to him. "He's always playing games and doesn't want to study business. Huh . . . if I had a son like you, Vin."
"Ahh, Pa, what if Papa just adopted Vin as your son?" Kevin Lam even chattered casually.
"Damn son! You should be ashamed! Look at Vin, he can handle a lot of business from his father! Then when will you be? Are you going to continue to be the cause of my white hair, huh?!" Big Master Lam acted glaring at his youngest son.
But Kevin Lam didn't look the least bit intimidated. He actually grimaced as if he had no sin whatsoever. "Papa ... didn't you say yesterday that your hair keeps turning white because of Mama?"
"You!" Mr. David Lam was at a loss for words to reply to his wayward son.
Kevin Lam had hurriedly dragged Vince Hong away from his father before his father got angrier and angrier at him and continued to worship Vince Hong like a god.
"Hong boy, you have to be careful if one day someone kidnaps you, and forces you to become someone's son. It must be my papa." Kevin Lam has managed to bring Vince Hong to the front of the steak booth.
"This little Lam is such a jerk, huh?" Vince Hong lightly punched Kevin Lam in the arm while his best friend was choosing the steak he wanted.
"Ha ha ha ... I was only kind enough to warn you, brat!" Kevin Lam took a small plate and was ready to accept the steak he wanted, which was offered by the booth guard.
"Ahh, you're just-" Vince Hong suddenly forgot what to say to his best friend when he saw the young woman in the simple red dress earlier, now the girl was walking toward him with her female friends. Maybe they are relatives too.
Kevin Lam turned in the direction that made Vince Hong stunned as if he was watching an elephant flying across the moon.
Young Master Lam smiled as soon as he found out what drew his best friend's attention. "Good evening, Mrs. Lee." He bowed respectfully to a middle-aged woman who was standing not far from the girl in the red dress.
"Oh! Is this the son of ..." That middle-aged woman in the black dress seemed to be remembering something, even though she herself didn't know who the young man who greeted her was. How could she possibly know all those present at this event? Therefore, to cover up her ignorance, she pretended to be trying to remember who Kevin Lam was.
"I am the son of David Lam." Kevin Lam introduced himself. He understood that the middle-aged woman was only pretending to remember him.
Vince Hong who was next to Kevin Lam couldn't help but be astonished. Is this Kevin Lam too crazy and wild to even greet a middle-aged woman?! Is Kevin Lam starting to target the MILFs?
Vince Hong's eyes couldn't help but rest on the middle-aged woman's chest, just to check how big the middle-aged woman's 'special property' was. And he was confused because the woman's chest was not what Kevin Lam used to chase. Did the Lam boy change tastes?
"And this is Sir Benetton Hong's son." Kevin Lam's voice suddenly sounded clear in Vince Hong's ears.
Vince Hong stammered. Had he been daydreaming while he was too busy analyzing the middle-aged woman in front of him to not know what Kevin Lam had talked about with the woman called Mrs. Lee earlier?
"Ohh! It turns out that this is the son of the famous Master Hong!" Mrs. Lee smiled at Vince Hong. Fake smile, of course.
Vince Hong quickly bowed his head briefly as a sign of respect and reached out to shake Mrs. Lee's hand which was already stretched out in front of his body. "I ... Vince. Vince Hong. Nice to meet you, Mrs. Lee."
Young Master Hong wondered and thumped, was he the famous one or the father? And what reputation was it when it comes to him? Unknowingly, Vince Hong swallowed awkwardly. The girl in the red dress was still standing next to Mrs. Lee.
They occasionally looked at each other even though the girl mostly ignored Vince Hong's gaze.
"Mrs. Lee came with your family?" Kevin Lam flexibly conversed with the middle-aged woman who still looked beautiful and charming.
"Oh, yes. I came with my daughter and sister to accompany my husband. This is my sister, Lana. And this is my daughter, Eva." Mrs. Lee introduced the two women who were standing nearby.
Kevin Lam and Vince Hong took turns shaking hands with Lana and Eva.
Vince Hong's eyes lit up as he shook Eva's hand.
Lana, who seemed to understand the meaning of Vince Hong's stare at her nephew, replied to their conversation, "How about the young people talk to each other, Sis? We'd better not disturb them, right?"
Mrs. Lee was silent for a moment before she finally nodded casually and let Eva Lee stay there with Kevin Lam and Vince Hong. After all, the parents of the two young men were not random people. He believed they would not do anything to her only daughter.
"Eva, did you and your friends come here? I saw you were with some girls your age?" Kevin Lam started a conversation with Eva Lee.
"Oh, they're the children of Papa's associates. There they are." Eva Lee waved at a table and the three girls waved back.
"Okay, looks like I want to get acquainted with them." Kevin Lam casually walked away leaving Vince Hong and Eva Lee.
Eva Lee was surprised because Kevin Lam just left and now she was alone with Vince Hong, standing awkwardly in front of the steak booth.
"Um ... what do you want to eat? Let me take you." Vince Hong understands Kevin Lam was giving him a chance by walking away leaving the two of them alone. He's not going to waste this.
"I . . . I think I just want a drink," Eva Lee replied a little awkwardly.
"Oh, then I'll take you to choose which one you want. Cocktail or light?" Vince Hong pointed to a cocktail bar as well as a bar that specializes in juices.
"Just juice. I don't really like alcoholic drinks." Eva Lee pointed at the juice bar.
Vince Hong also led Eva Lee to the bar. The two of them sat next to each other on the bar stools. "Orange strawberry punch for me." He said to the bartender there. Then he turned to Eva Lee. "What do you want, Eva?"
Eva Lee chose the menu listed there, then replied, "Raspberry smoothie." She mentions.
While the bartender was preparing their orders, the two of them started talking.
"May I know your full name?" Vince Hong asked opening the chat. "Ahh, I don't mean to be presumptuous, just ... just wanted to get to know you as a friend."
"Oh, um ... Evangelin Lee Hyoona," Eva Lee answered simply. Then she busied herself with looking through the menu list book in front of him.
"Lee Hyoona? Are you Korean?" Vince Hong hasn't given up.
"Yes, my father is a Korean businessman, married to my Hong Kong mother." Eva Lee replied while welcoming the smoothie she ordered. The smoothie was a deep pink, very attractive. Looks like Eva's preferred color.
"Are you on vacation in Macau?" Vince Hong also received the punch he ordered.
"I study in Hong Kong, so this can't be called a vacation." Eva Lee answered while sipping lightly on her smoothie, without looking at Vince Hong, then she was busy stirring the smoothie.
Vince Hong felt himself being neglected all along.

I could change my life to better suit your mood
Because you're so smooth
And it's just like the ocean under the moon
Oh, it's the same as the emotion that I get from you
