Chapter 107 - Getting Used to the Past

"Damn it! Who the hell is that woman, and why did she send me here?" James was depressed. He never wanted to be sent back to this house, not when he planned to go back to Boston.

With gritted teeth, he stood up from his bed and sat down and pondered. He looked around his room warily, it was the same it was five days ago. Was he transported back in time?

What does the woman mean by him veering of his time continuum? What did he do that triggered it?

James currently did not have the time to answer those questions, so he climbed out of his bed to survey his surroundings.

"Oh my god, I was almost killed", James mumbled with fear in his heart as he suddenly remembered he almost died in the hands of that crazy man. As much as James despises the woman's action, he was glad that she appeared at the last minute to save him, although he didn't know why he suddenly became weak and mute.

As James walked to his desk, he felt heavy. He looked back and noticed he was still wearing his backpack. "Huh?" James quickly dropped it and opened the bag. Sure enough, his CPU, his SSDs and flash drive with his important documents was still there.

So his bag followed him back, James thought stunned. He darted his eyes on his desk, and he could see his desktop computer still running. "Wait, I possess a duplicate of my CPU?"

James was surprisingly confused. He took out his CPU and placed it next to his running CPU. They looked exactly alike, even down to the tiny scratch at the side of the power button.

"Oh my god, time travel is real?" James chuckled with surprise, before realizing something. He promptly unplugged his old CPU and plugged in his new one.

After powering it on and logging in, he was very relieved to see that all of his previous work from yesterday was still there. James wore the look of glee and surprise as he carefully looked at each of the research documents he had, nothing changed.

Who was that woman that took James back to now?

James was still reeling in excitement when a gentle knock on his door jolted him to reality. It was Maribel who came into his room. Because of his recent experiences, James became wary of her, as he thought she would lash at him again, but surprisingly she smiled.

"What are you looking at James, come on stop joking around and prepare for school." She then exited his room, leaving James in a daze.

James was taken back to before he was implicated by Josh, and that was supposed to happen this night. James could not help but leap with joy. Heaven has given him a second chance to undo his mistake, something that most people would never have.

After bathing and wearing his school uniform, James came downstairs and sat down on the sofa. James began to have mixed feelings seeing the entire family again, this time without looking at him with disgust. It was an indescribable feeling that was hard to put into words.

Angel was the first to come out of her room. When she saw James, she smiled cheekily and rushed to meet him. "How is the birthday present going?" Angel stared at James with pure innocence.

James smiled softly. He knew she was going to ask that question, but he still waited for her to ask.

"Well, it has been going smoothly. I'm still polishing it to make it beautiful. Don't worry, you'll like it", James then pinched her cheek. "Okay", she said and ran into Maribel's room.

According to his memory, two minutes after Angel left the room, Josh would arrive at the sitting room and sat down ignoring him. Sure enough, the event played out exactly as he thought of it. 'Wow", he mouthed in wonder.

Was this how time travel feels like? He has never felt like this before, to be able to experience the same event again, was something one cannot fully grasp until they experienced it themselves.

James slumped on the chair and looked at Josh, who was playing a game on his console before he noticed something on him.

There was a small thumb drive that was in his hands. It was the thumb drive that Josh used to transfer those vulgar contents to his computer. He didn't pay attention last time because he had no interest in Josh at that time. Now looking at him, he noticed it. It was plugged into his console.

He remembered that when he was sitting on this couch at this exact time with his eyes closed, he noticed Josh was breathing faster and faster. James naturally assumed that maybe he was losing, that was why he was fuming.

But the main reason caused James to almost vomit blood. Josh was oblivious to James stare as he placed his hands on his groin and caressed them softly. "What the f**k!!"

He could not believe Josh was watching that content in the sitting room! What the hell was he thinking? James was so disgusted with the actions that he felt a strong urge to vomit his empty stomach bad.

This time, James would use it to his advantage. He used his smartphone connected to his computer to hack into Josh's console through the Wi-Fi and screen recorded his screen and captured his face in real-time. He could not stand watching him destroy his life with this illicit habit.

Then Josh breathing slowed down. He then continued using his console as nothing happened and played a few games. James stopped looking at him and monitored him through his peripheral vision. He made sure to turn on his enhanced sensory input to peek at what he was doing.

Suddenly Josh glared at James, who pretended to be looking at the TV and mumbled something to himself. Luckily with James enhanced hearing, he could be able to listen to what he said.

"You think you are the good child, let me show you how it feels to cross me bastard", he said and began fiddling with his console. With James enhanced vision and hearing, he noticed that he was downloading those pornographic pictures and videos and transferred them to his thumb drive, before ejecting and putting the drive into his pocket.

"I'll wait till midnight, you'll see", Josh muttered again and turned off his console, before Maribel walked in with breakfast.
