In the year 2060, a young man was in a virtual lab testing out various DNA samples. An elderly man walked in with a solemn expression on his face. "She's here," he said, before pushing a wheelchair containing a woman, or what was supposed to be a woman.
The young man did not stop what he was doing as he asked a question at the woman in the wheelchair. "What's your name?" he asked. The father glanced at the young man with a hesitant gesture. "Uhh sir, she can't hear. Her name is Sophia, and she's 48 years old."
The young man's face twitched as he heard the name. "Sophia who?
he asked further. "Sophia Adams," the elderly man said simply. The young man finally dropped what he was doing and turned to stare at the woman in the wheelchair. He went to be in shock, then depression. "What happened to her?" he glared at the elderly man as if at any moment, he would punch him.
The elderly man bowed sadly as he recounted everything that happened. "It was her stepsister. I—I wrote my will saying that Sophia take over all my businesses and possess all my wealth, only a few billion dollars being given to my second wife, but they did not take it lightly, so they vented their rage on my daughter Sophia, and poured acid all over the eye, her ears and even her genitals. How she even survived was even a miracle, but she is currently in deep pain.
"Please sir, tell me you can do something about it" the elderly man pleaded, with tears coming from his eyes.
The young man turned around and broke down. He could not believe she ended up like this. He quickly wiped his tears and coldly stared at the man "Bring her here" he said and waved his finger, and suddenly, a bed materialized from nowhere.
"Where did that come from?" the old man said agitatedly. "It's just a realistic simulation, but that's not the point. Get out of here, let me see what I can do." He waved his hand and gently grabbed the woman who looked like melted ice cream and positioned her on the virtual bed.
"But sir, I have to be here to monitor her. She is the future of my business and my possessions…" the young man interrupted him in rage. "I said get out of here, are you mad?" he screamed, causing the man to scurry away.
The young man turned his face to the very ugly woman and cried uncontrollably. Who was the bastard that turned your beautiful, elegant body into this mess? Who was so heartless to see your perfect attributes and decided to destroy them? Oh, Sophia…" James was lamenting.
"AI! Clear all of this, render virtual lab for this situation." He voiced out, and the realistic room turned to a series of blue lines and morphed again to a different lab. The scene looked like something straight out of a sci-fi movie.
"Extract a portion of her blood and take a full backup of her brain, including her consciousness" James ordered.
[James, if you want to rebuild her body with her DNA, I wanted to say her blood might not suffice. The acid content had severely damaged most of the DNAs on her body, so this blood is a waste]
After the AI replied, James stared at the screen that displayed AI's face. "You said 'most' right? Then find something I can work with, and quickly! We don't have much time."
[Alright sir, this would not take long.]
"And do the brain backup thing," the young man said and took out a pill and swallowed it. "So much for staying young," the young man said spitefully.
[DNA structure is found; shall I synthesize it]
"Quickly"

After AI made a full backup of all Sophia's memories and her consciousness, James made an injection from his virtual lab and approached her. "I'm sorry for doing this, but I hope you understand why I'm doing it. Let me alleviate your pain".
With tears, James injected the needle into Sophia's mashed up hand, and soon after he did that, Sophia trembled slightly. She then stared at James with her bloodshot eyes. James knew she wanted to say something, so he flicked his fingers on empty space, bringing a wide space.
He immediately connected a series of wires on her head. He then turned and stared at the big virtual screen floating in front of him. "Decode brain frequency, code 1.2.2," he said, and soon, static sounds could be heard, until it slowly turned to a woman's voice. It was the thoughts of Sophia.
"…die, I feel pain…don't want to die… pain all over my body…" James wanted to tear up again hearing those repeated phrases, but he stopped himself and stared at Sophia's face.
"Sophia? I can hear your thoughts. Is there anything you want to tell me?" James asked solemnly. Sophia struggled to look at James and trembled violently. Clearly, the solution James had injected into Sophia's body was taking effect.
"James, James can you hear me? You can hear thought?" Sophia asked in her mind. "Yes, yes, I can hear you, please speak up." James was starting to regret injecting that poison.
"Please don't heal me. Let me stay dead. I don't want to live anymore." James was shocked. 'Why" was the only question that popped into his mind.
"Look, there was something that I wanted to say to you. I love you, deeply. I married my husband because I thought you were never… interested in me. All these years I've always been thinking of you. I even looked up your names of Meta, but you were not there." She said.
James could see that her brain frequency was slowing down. She was dying. James closed his eye and a tear seeped out. "I loved you too, but the reason I never got close to you had to do with your parent. They never give me the chance to talk to you, despite the countless time I come to visit you."
Sophia closed her eye without any visible expression. "If you love me, make my final request come to pass. Don't heal me. You are a scientist, right? You can keep my memories as a reminder of my existence on this earth. I also wanted…" then James could not hear Sophia's thoughts anymore.
[James, she's dead]
The AI said solemnly. James knelt down and shouted in grief. Why did I do this? Why did they do this? James had never felt this hatred for humanity till now.
