"Alright, we're here. Where's Nathan?" Ana asked as she put her book on the table. James put down the book he was reading and placed it back in the library. "Obviously, he had gone to build the "robot" that he claimed to do," James said.
Ana laughed heartily and covered her mouth so she would not disturb the people using the library. "I'm really sorry for laughing like that, but still, I cannot believe Nathan would boldly tell the class he was going to build a robot before due! That's a really crazy dude!" Ana exclaimed.
As James did not want to waste time here, he began explaining the concepts of the architecture of the robots. "You know what you did the last time. You design the body, I design the board" James finished explaining, waiting for Ana's comment.
Ana pouted her lips and folded her hands. "What makes you think I cannot build the motherboard James?" James gave her a questioning look. What was this girl up to this time?
"Seriously Ana, you want to start this? Did you not tell me literally a month ago that you want to be a 3D shape designer, sort of? Why are you trying to start a fight here?" James asked squinting his eye.
The latter raised her hands in defence. "No, no I wasn't trying to start a fight or anything. I just want to learn how you design and program a chip to do those amazing movements that our recent robot's project did." She then opened her biscuits took one slice and threw it in her mouth.
"Mmmh, I would have loved for you to see you watching me and disturbing the hell out of me, but you know I can't. This is something that is, well, out of your league, so just do what you know Ana, and stop disturbing me" James said, causing Ana to laugh again, for unknown reasons.
When James heard the bell for closing, he packed his books and returned all the books he read to the shelf left the school library and headed outside. Just as he was about to alert Maribel where he was, he was pushed by someone, causing him to fall flat on the ground. James looked up at who it was and saw it was one of Nathan friends. "I can't wait to beat you to a pulp when Nathan eventually wins the bet." He whispered and joined the crowd leaving the school's premises.
"But I did not make any valid bet" James grunted and stood up. He then headed to Maribel's car and jumped in the front seat. "Hi James, how was school today?" Maribel asked beaming.
"You never get tired of saying this right?" James said and smiled. "School was great. Oh, right one of my teachers gave us a project about building a robot, so I want to ask for your permission if I can use your workhouse?"
Maribel smiled and wiggled his nose. "Yes of course, but be careful with sharp objects out there okay?" Maribel said. James rolled his eye and smiled. "You keep saying this every time and here we are, still in one piece. I'll be fine".
Someone knocked at the window, and James looked over to see who it was. It was Josh holding two ice-cream cups. "Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot. Josh was sitting here before you came" Maribel said. James nodded understandably and opened the door. He has not exited the door when Josh rushed in, banging James head to the door's edge.
"Josh! Be careful with your entry. James, are you hurt?" Maribel asked concernedly when she noticed James holding his head. James touched the affected place and looked at his hands two times. "Yes aunt, I'm fine," James said and solemnly entered the backseat. "Josh, apologize immediately!" Maribel ordered.
"Mom, let's just go home," John said and rested his head on the seat. "Josh?" Maribel warned. Josh grunted and squeezed his face. "Sorry James, are you happy? Angel, take your ice cream." Josh said irritatedly. "No, I'm not. If you did not properly apologize to James right now, you will be grounded for two days" Martha scolded.
Josh then turned around, facing James and smiled bitterly. "I A-M S-O-R-R-Y J-A-M-E-S," he said slowly and turned back, licking his ice cream in silent anger.
"Good, it wasn't hard was it? Alright let's go" Maribel said and started the car's engine, before zooming off the parking lot.
James stared at James and pondered. If he could talk to Maribel in private about spending more time with Josh, maybe Josh would not be as resentful as now. James usually did not care about such trivial matters as this, but he was doing it because of his conscience. He did not want to steal someone else's mother and cause a long-term hatred against him.
With that being thought, he closed his eye and pondered. Although he still had his telepathic abilities, he preferred not to use them for now, or never, ever since he realized how complex and evil the human minds were. He preferred peering into an animal's mind instead.
A couple of minutes later, they arrived at their home. Josh jumped down ran to the door and waited for his mom. The rest came down packed their bags and walked to the door thereafter. After Maribel disabled the alarm system, she put the key into the keyhole and opened them.
James immediately headed to his room and removed only his tie, before turning on his laptop and opening his browser. He then opened the freelancing website and opened his inbox. Sure enough, there were tons of unread messages, waiting for James to sort them out and started working. James breathed in and out deeply before he began working.
