"Critical error, critical error, critical error, critical error…."
James body continued convulsing rapidly for more than twenty minutes as the electrical surge passed through all of his organs. The chip inside James was trying its possible best to stabilize the situation, but his brain was not faring any better. James consciousness began to fluctuate rapidly as random memories and desires began to spin around his mind, causing James to randomly scream wildly.
"Wake up!"
The lights in the morgue room began fluctuating as a result of the power surge, and the temperature regulator began beeping ceaselessly. Sounds of clanking could be heard from the fridge from more than thirty meters away from the room.
"Wake up!"
The chip seeing that the situation was under its control, began beaming alpha waves all over James' brain, protecting the external electrical charges from damaging his brain.
"Wake up!"

Inside a motel, Amy was with her laptop video chatting and talking furiously to Charles. "Hey, guess what Charles, the boy is dead, happy now? You very selfish and deranged monster. You know, all the time I worked for you for five years, I thought your stupid attitude towards me and others was because you had a rough life, but how naïve I was. You were a heartless monster, and you are still one. The only thing I regretted was submitting the proposal to work for you!"
Charles stared at Amy with a cold expression then laughed softly. "Are you done? Alright, alright, just hear me out. Do you really think I give a damn about what you just said, I mean what do you think I am?
"Have you ever given a thought about your won pathetic life? I still have a great life, and you, huh, you are currently on the run in another country, so tell me, who is the sad one here. Your boyfriend was killed by some unknown people, you went crazy and almost murdered your own coworker, and now you travelled all the way to Boston to protect a kid that does not even know or care about your existence. Tell me, who is the crazy one here?
Now listen to me well Penn. I am going to take that chip from that corpse whether you like it or not, and if you try to even stop me, or prevent the assigned people to retrieve them, you would not imagine what your life is going to turn out, and that is if you would even continue living".
Amy sighed deeply and covered her face with her palms. "Game on Charles, game on. You still have the guts to threaten me. Let's see who first gets the chip. You destroyed what I love, and now, I'm gonna destroy what you love" Amy threatened.
"You wouldn't dare P…" Charles screamed agitatedly before Amy disconnected him abruptly. Amy thoughts began to drift to Matt. "You think you will be happy seeing me in this state huh" Amy muttered to herself sadly. She shook the thoughts away and tried to distract herself. She opened YouTube on her phone and threw herself to the bed.
Amy was on her fifth video when her laptop began to beep ceaselessly. Amy paused the video and stared at the screen confused. The laptop automatically launched a terminal and began running commands on its own and blinking a series of text.
Amy promptly jumped out of her bed and ran to her laptop to see what was happening and was shocked. Was someone trying to hack her? Amy attempted to stop the running terminal but stopped when she read the contents. The message was coming from the chipset inside James.
"Client ID [Amy Penn] connected: Retrieve body from coordinate (41° 56' 54.3732" N), the source system is encountering critical malfunction. Consciousness is awakened, but identity [James Nicolas Smith] is in distress. The countdown timer is T minus forty-five minutes."
Amy was petrified at the message. James was alive? But that cannot be possible. The doctor clearly told her that James was dead, besides, she saw the heart monitor flat-lined. Amy did not have time to delegate on this, so she immediately packed her bag and left for the hospital.
While arriving, she immediately rushed to the morgue where James was put in but was stopped by the attendants. "Where are you going ma'am, the manager's office is this way," one of the female attendants said, pointing to the opposite direction. Amy did not have the time to converse with these people, so she promptly dived through their middle and headed to the morgue.
The alarmed attendant then ran to inform the doctor, but Amy could not care any less. She approached the room and attempted to open the door, but it was locked. Amy became apprehensive, so she searched for the keyhole, removed her hairpin, and fiddled with the lock.
While there was going on, the attendants informed the doctor about Amy, but the manager of the morgue smiled and assured them. "Don't worry, it's fine. The family of the deceased do this most of the time, there's no need to worry at all. Just approach her gently and assure them that the boy is in safe hands like you always do".
The attendants stared at each other doubtfully before nodding and walking out of the doctor's room. "Do you think that crazy woman was grieving for the lost child?" one of the fat attendants asked her colleague. The attendant shrugged and said, "I don't know, but the time she ran in, she wore a determined look, like she wanted to take something, but I might be wrong."
"Erh, let's go meet her then and see if the old 'he's in safe hands' nonsense would work," the fat attendant said and raised her eyebrow, causing the other attendant to laugh lightly. "I cannot believe anyone would buy that."
When they arrived at the morgue, what their eyes saw shocked them beyond words.
