Her parents weren't killed for holding her in such a bad situation because she didn't know anything besides that attic up to that point. Her parents never let her outside the house so she didn't understand the concept that it wasn't ok to be in something like that. The reason she killed them was that her parents began becoming physical. To her, it was just a random occurrence that started happening frequently but on the outside, it was obvious why they started acting this way.
Their position of power in the political scene was slowly going downhill when they were caught being connected with criminals. While it wasn't known to many people outside their political circle it was still known and caused many people to stop being affiliated with them. The reason they had connected with these people was to have some kind of backer or a sign of power despite them not having a class or ability but it came back to bite them.
