Sung-Ho knew what he had to do now. First thing's first, go visit his mother and sister, before he went to train in the Tutorial. He felt, he had to at least reach A-Rank, so he could take the Ranking Test once more.
So, he slowly dragged himself out of the hospital bed, and towards the subway station. Checking his phone, he had no unread messages. He had already informed Seo-Jun of his plans, except for the thing about the tutorial. He had simply said he needed to 'spend time with family'.
This excursion was solely for the purpose of reaching S-Rank.
Why?
Because once he had reached S-Rank, the journey could begin.
Reaching the station within a matter of minutes, he sat down on a chair, slowly placing his hands in his pockets.
However, the train, after it had begun going, rattled to a halt, slowly, with the captain's mic coming on.
"Erm, hello....
We have come to a halt because- hey, what's this mist surrounding the train----"
And with that, the mic abruptly shut off.
Mist?
Glancing out, Sung-Ho noticed the mist. It was a....purplish colour.
That could only mean one thing.
Dokkaebi.
These monsters were basically the Korean version of Japanese Yokai. Ugh, and they were divine beings, too. It was the gods' job to exterminate them, and Sung-Ho has spent many a moon trying to kill these pesky beasts.
But that also meant, the people on this train were in danger. Why? Because this was a Dokkaebi, which meant that no Hunter lower than A Rank, except for him, could deal with them.
He quickly turned his phone on, yet, there was no internet.
The Dokkaebi must have jammed the signal!
Ugh, that meant they were surrounded. He didn't know how many there were, but he also had to defend a crowd of people.
People were running around, screaming, doing everything that regular people would if put in a situation look like this.
"Hey-calm down." Sung-Ho tried to say, however he couldn't be heard over everyone's noise.
"LISTEN TO ME! I SAID, CALM THE FUCK DOWN!" He roared. After saying that, everyone stopped panicking, and glanced up at him, standing on the chair.
"Listen, I know you're all worried...."
"Yet I can't deal with this alone. I need your cooperation if we're all to make it out with our lives intact."
Yet, one boy, around the age of...10, clung on to his leg. Why was he on this train alone?
Probably going to visit his parents, but by himself? Sung-Ho thought to himself.
Cracking his knuckles, he turned to face all of them.
"I will make my way to the front of the train, and draw the Dokkaebi's attention, while opening the doors. From there, you have to get out of here, and alert the nearest Guildmaster."
With a few scared nods, he jumped down, and begun moving. Once he had made it to the front, he opened the hatch, waving at the Dokkaebi.
"HEY! DOKKAEBI! GET OVER HERE AND FIGHT ME, YOU SORRY EXCUSES FOR MONSTERS!"
That was sure to rile them up. Dokkaebi were certainly not low-level monsters, and despised being treated as such.
They began flying over to him, so he slammed on the button to open all the doors, while turning on the mic and screaming
"GOGOGOGO!"
The mic shut off, and he was left to fight 3, very angry Dokkaebi.
However, he simply grinned.
"So, the gods are so useless without me that they can't clear out a few Dokkaebi?"
"Come and get me, you ugly lumps of fur."
