Chapter 1 - "Down, down I go"

She stared down into the darkness, feeling as if it would swallow her whole.
"If this is to be my fate, let it be so." The abyss lulled her into the pit. Falling, falling, falling. She was always falling in one way or another. From grace, from expectations, and into harm's way. Hot stinging tears streaked across her face. Suddenly, a voice echoed through the darkness, an eerily familiar sound.

"Are trying to escape again?" The voice echoed in a mocking tone.

"Your sarcasm is showing, Elias."
I did not want to deal with this demon's shenanigans, desiring only to be in solitude--for eternal peace, silence.

"As I'm quite sure you already know, you aren't allowed to do this."

"Oh but I don't, you'll have to remind me, as my memory is so extremely poor." I replied in the same mocking tone, taking no precautions in offending Elias, I want him out of my head.

"Look, as much as we both want you gone, you can't kick the bucket quite yet, for the sake of your people, of course." A loud crack broke the silence, and she was once again lying in her own bed. Soft and warm, one would not be opposed to staying in it, however, this is the reason she hated it. The one place to keep her comfort was really as a jail cell.

Elias sat on a stool across from her, hands threaded together and placed elegantly under his chin. One could assume him to be a prince, the way he carried himself, his sharp eyes gleaming with the sort of authority not often seen amongst the common people. Demons most definitely had a flair for the dramatics. A sly grin played across his lips.

"Ah you're awake!"
"What more could be obvious, my dear?" A look of disdain took over his ethereal features.
"Alas, I cannot even express my feelings to my own fiance."
"You can cut the sweet talk, alright? You use telepathy as often as you speak aloud. There is no need for the conversation to continue."
