Selene was having a normal day in San Fran, she wandered around on Fisherman's wharf, little did she know that her life'd be changing soon. She waved to Maira, her best friend, and probably only friend for now.
It was a nice sunny day, with cool sea air coming from the ocean surrounding them. The sky was a perfect shade of blue, with a few fluffy white clouds in the distance, she hummed, and tucked a lock of her long straight black hair back in its place.
She was rather pretty, with fair skin, and sea blue eyes. Her hair was jet black, it was long and straight, it went past her shoulders, she wasn't short for her age. It was nearly her 14th birthday, and she was excited to celebrate it with her family and Maira.
She saw Nate, a boy with a tan skin tone, with bright green eyes and a messy haircut, she guessed she had a crush on him.
He looked up from what he was working on and waved, she waved back, and smiled.
Little did she know that her only friend, Maira, attended a special place, and was out to recruit Selene, she was Gemstone Academy material.
At a first glance, you'd think she was a popular girl, but she's really shy, and nice. Quick-witted, chivalrous, and protective, and seemingly perfect.
But she did lose her father early on, she and her mom still mourned about him, inside, she was merely broken.
Maira had told Selene that she could come to a place Maira had been going to for a while, Selene gladly accepted, always looking for a new adventure.
*Time skip to tomorrow* The morning light beamed into the room, washing everything in a warm glow, Selene was still in bed, her hair was all over the place, she grabbed a pillow and put it on her face to block the light, and snuggled another in her arms.
But at that point, someone burst through the door, "Wake up sleepyhead!" Maira exclaimed, her light brown hair shimmering in the sunlight as she pulled the pillow away from Selene's face, and then plopping down next to her. Selene turned over slightly, "NoOoOooo it's morning alreeaaadyy?" She drawled groggily, Moira pulled Selene by the arm so she sat up, Selene propped herself against her wooden bedframe. "aren't you excited for today?" Maira asked. "Whats today..?" Selene asked groggily. "wow," Moira said with a laugh in her voice. "you really are a sleepyhead."
Selene gave a sorta of glare at Maira, but sighed. "I guess... what's today again? I forgot." She remarked, Maira let out a giggle. "why, it's Saturday! It's time to go to my place at the Academy! Hopefully we'll be roomates this semester!" She said thoughtfully, staring around the room in wonder.
Her eyes had a dreamy look to them, she was like that often, she was obsessed with boys and crushes and whatnot. Selene sort of was obsessed, but not as much as Maira. "So. are we going toodaaayy? If so, let me go get ready." She shuffled off the bed and brushed her teeth, washed her face, combed her hair, that stuff.
She normally slept with normal clothes so she didn't have to change. Maira sat there, waiting till Selene was ready. She finally stopped infront of Maira, Maira gasped, "Oh my god, Selene! You still look amazing even in those clothes!" She complimented, Selene looked away and flushed. "I do not." She refused to think of that.
There were other girls who looked much better than her, as usual, she doubted herself.
She had a plain old black hoodie, slightly oversized, with a wave design on the front, with black leggings not too tight, she had a navy long-sleeve underneath, with green sneakers to go along with the outfit, her eyes were a bright shade of green, of course.
Selene was always a special girl, with natural looks anyway, no makeup except for chapstick. She could be called "perfect" in any way.
She can hide her feelings and true self very well.... at a first glance you'd think she was the happiest person in the world.
Earlier that night She had packed a bag of some things for the trip, Maira stood and started to walk out, "Cmon, let's head out" She said cheerfully, pulling Selene along by grabbing her wrist to make her hurry. which made her stumble and fall in the process.
