"Valerie, hey Val! Wake up!" Dense darkness greeted her eyes as soon as she woke up. The cave has been emptied. The torches were extinguished and the smell of bat droppings stung. She didn't know how long she had been unconscious. Almost all parts of her body ached. At first she panicked because it was difficult to move her hands. But slowly she was able to sit and straighten her back.
"Raph?" Valerie said hoarsely. She made sure she wasn't dreaming. Her husband was now holding her tightly as if she didn't care even though now she smelled a bit and was stained with blood. Her hand was still gripping the cursed weapon tightly.
"I thought I was going to lose you," Raph vented as he continued to hold her as if he was worried that his wife might disappear again at any moment.
