Chapter 51 - Chapter 51: Push ups

Jeffrey fell, he hit the ground pretty hard. He heard a familiar voice ask him

"You good?", Samantha asked her science project group partner.

Samantha was passing by when she saw Jeffrey in the crowd selling jars of Tanoshi (Foam) Oobleck and Art slime. (Gold flecks, rainbow pop, air bubble starch)

"No, but that's ok. Because we got work to do." he said with a smile on his face.

Jeffrey left the excitement between Stuyvescent and their school's French kids. They both started heading to the science classroom.

Preston had already set up the computer and projector.

Samantha grabbed the classroom clicker and talked about what her and Preston had been working on while Jeffrey was busy messing with the French kids.

"After our interview with journalism, we also decided to meet with some of the sponsors and local stores that sell stuff. There were a few places we thought would be a cool place to visit and meet more kids", Samantha said to Jeffrey.

Preston said some of his ideas, "I think we should check out some of the video game arcades, like Chuck E Cheese or Boomers. We could exchange them as ticket prizes or talk about our science project at some of the birthday parties"

There were a few places they mentioned like the mini golf courses, go kart racing tracks, ice skating rinks, and the parks. They discussed a few things before just playing around in the classroom and feeding the fish.

Preston had volunteered to take care of the fish in exchange for getting to use the classroom.

At this point word had got out about Oobleck and slime. Most of the kids were quite interested in their project and during lunch break and recess they'd sell about 2 or 3 jars a day. Kids started to buy it for their friends and soon some of the kids from other schools wanted one as well.

Many of the after school programs had kids that recognized Samantha and Preston. Jeffrey meanwhile was busy counting money and saving it for later.

"Anyway, we should meet up at my house. My parents know a neighbor that's CPA certified and could probably help us with all the tax preperation stuff", Samantha mentioned.

"That sounds great!", Preston exclaimed "I always wanted to learn how to do taxes"

Jeffrey found the whole situation funny, since for adults they hated doing paper work. However it was all a novelty to any one who hasn't done it, but heard about it so much their whole lives.

Soon the three exited the classroom and their daily schedule of classes continued. The blue sky was as calm as always, the sunshine shining brightly over the students.

Jeffrey sat at his desk watching the shimmering reflection of the sun on the whiteboard. Eventually the teacher spoke up.

"Is someone doing this on purpose", Mr. Co asked. Everyone looked at each other confused. No one raised their hand to speak up and class continued.

After a few slides, the reflection from the sun appeared again. Mr. Co looked around at some of the kids with plastic wrist watches and shiny pencil boxes. The culprit remained a mystery.

Meanwhile most of the kids in the front rows and near the window were paying more attention as they felt their teacher starting to get annoyed. The heavy scratches and writing of pencils were the only sounds that could be heard.

Mr. Co pulled down the blinds to the window and continued teaching class.

As one of the kids started erasing his work, the sharp eyed Mr. Co saw the glint appear again. It was an amusing sight to Jeffrey.

The day passed by pretty uneventfully, although with each passing day winter break came ever closer.
