"I think both me and my brothers agreed that," Benjamin broke the silence, making me look at him, while I ate the last cookie. "If you will become the Queen, and will marry one of us in the future, we need to know what are your thoughts on the other races."
Oh, I confess I didn't expect Prince Benjamin to be the one to ask me such a question. It has deep meaning, and he must want to know in a way to see if I would want a war with the other Kingdoms. But it was a good surprise because, in the game, they all respected the other races.
So, I answered with honesty. "I find them fascinating. In my opinion, the divisions of the four races in different Kingdom can both be good and bad. It protects them from the closed-minded and racist people, who think their respective race is superior, but it also proves they aren't equal to each other. Maybe one day," I looked at nowhere specifically, "we'll all be united as one. Even if it takes years for that to happen, it would be good."
"Who do you think is the race that causes more problems?" Kaleb asked.
Still lost in my mind, I managed to ask, "Easy question. We, humans. Humans tend to be condescending, arrogant, and narcissistic. They think that just because they are in major quantity thanks to the fact that they procreate faster, they are better and can command the others. Because of the tendency to fear the unknown, they think others look down on them and decided to act recklessly to avoid a future problem, and they do that by creating problems. We are a complicated race, and although we've been on Luthai for centuries, a big part of us is still narrow-minded. But when those people become the minority, I think a big and necessary change will happen."
When I focused my vision again, blinking, they seemed intrigued. "Are you really only 8?" Nathan exclaimed, making me chuckle softly.
"I was born 8 years ago, so, I guess that's my age," I joked and picked a brownie from the tray in front of Erik and Kaleb. "Your chef is just divine," I took a big bite. "It has a different taste, but it's really good," I took another bite and they all stared at me in shock. "What?" Erik and Kaleb looked at each other then at the others, then back to me. Their eyebrows raised in concern. "Was I not supposed to eat it?" They said nothing. "Is there something on my face? Why are you staring at me like that?"
Erik gulped, "Are you feeling alright?"
Staring from him to the tray of brownies, then to him again, I gulped, "They weren't poisoned, right? I heard there are lots of powerful people who consume small amounts of poison, so they will become immune to it."
It was Kaleb who taunted at that, to my surprise, "You can say that. We all have special medicines to consume to stay strong and able to keep going through our training," the others turned to him and when he glared at them, they all nodded. "Our bodies are different from each other, so we have different medicines that we consume through our food. Mine and Erik's are the same, while Timmy, Ben, and Nathan's are the same but different from ours "
They probably didn't wanted me to know about it before. But it's not surprising, once I know about the fact that they train since they were old enough to walk, thanks to the game. At least, the game gave me that information.
"Oh, you scared me for a second. But, will that medicine have any side effects on me?" I bit my lip.
Erik and Kaleb looked at each other. "I think it won't," Erik said. "But do not consume it anymore, okay? Just tell us what you want to eat and we'll see if it's normal or with... Our medicine!" Then he took a plate of brownie that was on the other side of the table and put it in front of me, "Those brownies you can eat as much as you want!" And he said that smiling, the most charming smile ever.
Like the game said, both Kaleb and Erik's smiles are hypnotizing and beautiful. Their brothers were also owners of outstanding beauty, but something about those two really hits different. I caught myself smiling back at him like an idiot.
"Thank you," I muttered feeling my cheeks burn.
Benjamin was clearly annoyed, "Don't be stupid, Erik, you know girls don't much. Especially not a Princess, and things that can make them gain weight," he stared at me as if he knew better than anyone. "Isn't that right?"
I glared at him, "I'm not that type of Princess, Prince Benjamin. Sorry to disappoint." The I replaced my plate for the plate full of brownies. "I have a metabolism that allows me to eat a lot and not gain weight," I took a bite of the brownie. "It's probably in my genes, since my mother is also like that. Besides, I practice martial arts, so I'm constantly training my body, which makes me burn my energy, and to recharge that," eating the rest of the brownie, I met his eyes and smiled when I finished. "I need to eat!"
Nathan seemed surprised to know that. "My mom is always on diet not to gain weight, so, I thought all women need to do that. Although she still eats a lot, and is also very healthy." He side-looked at where his mother was and then focused on me again. "And I didn't knew you trained martial arts!"
That made me chuckle softly, "It's hard to see girls who are able to defend themselves, most parents want their daughters to stay defenseless and be protected by them or her husband. I'm not a fan of that, and I don't want to need a man's help, so, when I was old enough to talk and walk, I asked my parents to let me practice martial arts."
"And they allowed, just like that?" Valentin asked looking a little skeptical. "My mom told me that she heard you were good at sweet talking," she's right. "Especially your parents."
A smirk appeared on my lips and I turned to him, "You are right, I am indeed used to sweet-talking and gaining what I want from my parents," I decided to be honest, after all, I had no reason to lie about that. "So, yes, I did had to bargain with them to make my dad agree with my wish."
Valentin grinned probably glad that he was right about me, "And what did you bargain with him? That was good enough to change their minds?"
"There was something I was refusing to do. I kept postponing it as much as I could, using the crying method to make them stop mentioning it. But they needed me to do it, so, I told them that if they allowed me to go to those classes, in a determined time, I would do it without complaining," I didn't need to say what it was, they all caught on. Smirking, I took a bite of another brownie. "And the main reason I learned and I'm still learning martial arts, is that I would be able to protect myself when one of you eventually tried to kill me," I said the last part giggling anxiously and without looking at them.
