Chapter 10 - OO1.1O; The Way To Be Alice

Save him? Save the people? Is he talking about the same Alice who was going to murder and commit war crimes? As in, the very same woman who takes a dragon and causes minor property damage when patrolling?

Without the ability to respond, she simple stared. Her throat felt like it was a desert once more, and there was no hope it'd stop soon. The look he gave her was completely serious. "Ah, you're so cute! I just want to take my time, but unfortunately we only have five hours…" he whimpered.

Without further hesitation, the staff took her by the arms and placed her on a seat. As the staff begun walking up and down trying to pick out as many different boxes as possible. the white rabbit begun to lecture her.

The whole library visit made her much more exhausted than before, so Alice was glad to finally have a break.

She didn't really listen in on what her guide was saying. That was, until he mentioned the staff. A magic weapon that the original Alice Hartziene used in her novel, and the weapon which could turn from a staff to a monster that she saw through her mind, the physical embodiment of her magic, a giant bandersnatch.

Original the creature wasn't in wonderland she believed, but a poem under the same author so her friend consider it to be quite similar as the jabberwocky too, was a poem.

For now, she knew that the magic staff was very descriptive in the book, so she likely needed to exact same staff, wouldn't she? Wasn't this a bit too easy to just come to a store and buy the greatest weapon instead of having it hand crafted!

For a whole hour straight, she was showed different wands, staffs, and tools. None of them looked like what was described in the novel, however, but rather really intricate crafts that never screamed for her.

"No… this one's too dull, look at the carvings." The white rabbit interrupted as he looked through the boxes as well. It seems he may be even pickier than her.

She was about to choose the wrong staff at this point, but if it so happened to change the plot or even ruin her magic, she couldn't have it happen. The staff she wielded was a powerful weapon known as something with great destructive force behind her magic empowering the super tall staff.

Just as she thought about giving up hope, a member of the team assigned to finding the one came out. He held an extremely tall staff in his hand that fit the description of the very novel. Except way larger!

A mixture of green and pure white, and glowing purple. Hints of gold and textures of blue ribbons, and a gemstone within the middle embedded.

Her eyes lit up as she stood, about to ask for it. The white rabbit beat her seconds towards it with a laugh. "It seems our dear little Alice found the one, but it doesn't quite match her, does it?" He couldn't help it, since that was so true.

Even the staff looked unsure. The one she wanted was so long would she even be able to pick it up? She doubted herself, but still tried as the rabbit called her near, allowing her to try and pick it up.

Of course, she failed. She immediately fell forward and with a flash her senses changed, she squinted her eyes as the people and things around her returned to normal, and became large yet distorted.

It was like time was slow again, as she could see herself falling. Time likely wasn't, and her normal sense returned. That's right, she thought. The original Alice had an issue which was only solved with medicine but in the future it didn't matter.

Her reunion with normality ended, and her abnormal normal routine continued. As she was nearly to the ground, she heard a voice call out to her. "Spin."

She didn't know who it came from, there were too many people around and all of them looked like blurs. She didn't know if she could trust it, but if she was going to fall anyways, she was giving it a chance.

Seeing things slowly, her body tilted as she forced herself with all her strength to shove the staff around, and stuck it into the ground while barely holding on to stay upright, centimetres above the ground.

The staff emitted a light as the gem in the middle blinded others. She could see it clearly as her body forcibly shoved her up, and faced her to the white rabbit. He was the only one who didn't change, but his eyes returned to how they met the very first time in her garden, where she saw his signature smile.

"Wow, you really do look like the role now, my dear Alice Hartziene the Great Magician of Carne…" she couldn't hear as it felt like intense ringing in her ears took over while the flash appeared and things rendered normal and nondisporportionte.

What on earth was that, she thought as she fixed herself dress up with the help of those around her. She knew that magic would come up at some point, but using it so quickly?

Was… that even consisted magic if all she did was move according to what someone had whispered to her though?

The white rabbit eagerly clapped as he begun to take out a large bag. "We'll take it." Inside the bag were large silver coins with a mixture of golden ones as well, it seemed like Carneline really did use this type of money.

The employees all looked relieved as they no longer had to wrack their brains. "This is too much," the manager tried to say but the white rabbit took her hand and begun to leave.

"You're just too cute! But it looks like you're capable of controlling it." He said with a smile as she finally noticed she could now pick up said staff with relative ease.

Was it a resonance? Something like an ancient staff which finally picked her of all people over the years to lead the story of a hero's?

Checking the time, the rabbit hummed. "The Great Magician, the first and last roleholder Alice Hartziene will lead this country into war and kill the white queen, before the end. Afterwards, there shall no longer be a white queen, a role which has failed to be eradicated since the beginning, which causes the turmoil of factions, and the current white queen is…"

It felt like something she didn't want to hear, nor something she wanted to do. Was he ever going to ask for her opinion? "Lucky lady of the Despair.." he mumbled grabbing her attention. "Lisabeth Arisforthume."

That confusing name that came to her friend in a jumble of words, the woman who was deemed second strongest, and the girl who dies. The female lead.

Stopping dead in her tracks, she could not hide the sheer shock and nervousness. The main lead had only one love, her. She broke his curse and he had gone mad for her. Not to mention, she was her pupil.

Was the white rabbit really suggesting she.. to be-

"Hmm… you seem surprised? Have you perhaps heard of her before?" He asked as Alice violently begun to shook her head side to side.

The current Lisabeth was even younger than her, wasn't she? "Ah you must be thinking about her, are you envious? She is a woman who has surpassed you in skill already despite being only 15?" He asked thinking for a second.

Shaking his head he flicked her on the forehead. "If you've heard of her you'd know she was 7 and deemed a legend as is."

Did he say 15? Or actually did he mean she was 7? It didn't matter, since the explanation would only confuse her even further than all things which have confused her thus far.

"The white queen has existed since the start. Her role is to create panic and trauma, behind a mask and blame the red queen, meanwhile her magic allows her to cure impurities, under the act her body deaccelerates."

A woman who exists to cause pain to people around her, and the more she uses her magic the more she doesn't age? If she were really that old and even older than her right now then how much magic as she used?

Shaking his head the white rabbit took her hand once more. "You are to get rid of her before the white queen gains power from outside help and break the people of this land before it's too late you need to stop it."

"Instead of being forced into her role, she embraced it thoroughly and has become one of the worst role in history thus far as she has far too much brain and not enough time, even if the others only wished to survive she wishes for beyond."
