Chapter 37 - Antidote

"Sam, listen to me!"

Amber pulled her bag to her shoulders while trying to chase Sam on the streets. She wanted some solid answers from all of her questions. She knew that her best friend would never act that way.

When she finally grabbed Sam's hand, the female yanked away. "I said stop following me!" he snarled, pushing Amber.

Of course, Amber didn't budge. She went in front of her and blocked her. "What's wrong with you? You and I know that I win by fair and square. I'm going to nationals. Aren't you happy for me?"

That's it. Because whenever Sam wins, she's also happy for her. It's what best friends are for, right? But instead of getting the same reaction, she can feel that disgust couldn't leave Sam's eyes. She knew her friend because they grew so close.
