Welcome, to my comprehensive layout of how to power gauge the characters in my story. And how Magic and Aether work.
In the universe that the main character gets sent to, there is a substance called aether. It comes from agios the version of the Holy Trinity of that universe. In that universe, he takes the form of a single being. And he releases aether into every corner of the universe. Aether is a powerful type of energy, the craziest thing about this type of energy is that it does not follow how normal types of energy like kinetic or static. It remains alive until used by the person storing it inside them. It's almost like a living being, those being's with a Mana-Sphere(Or MSP) can use and control it. Mana is what aether is called once somebody takes it into their Mana-Sphere. Ang magic is just the process of using mana.
: Mana-Sphere, the place where mana will naturally go and form, is usually located right where the ribcage starts or otherwise known as the Solar Plexus. Every being is born with a Mana-Sphere. This stage is called Mortal-Sphere the weakest level and also the most common stage for most of the common folks. They can perform simple magic. (Mostly used for chores) Training your core is a long and tedious process with the only thing making it worth it is the crazy leaps of power between the power levels.
: Soul, this is where your mind is located. The mind takes the form of a metallic orb, that floats in the expanse of your soul energy. People etch spells on the surface of the orb with their mana to memorize it. They can be wiped off using mana as well but some of the orb will be lost and so will some of the mental energy. The soul itself is used for soul magic and is considered a very prestigious school of magic due to its difficulty to learn. The amount of soul energy is dependent on the level of your mind.
: Mana-Warrior, a person that sacrifices their core, in doing so it is a very painful process, they are changing their bodies to essentially an Aether battery, and the way that they get stronger is by forcibly stuffing Aether into their cells which slowly makes stronger. The reason they do this is that when one becomes a Mana-Warrior their physical strength becomes astronomically strong, although mages can refine their bodies to extreme levels (Which they do) Mana-Warriors have the ability to still control the type of magic affinity they have, for example, if they were born with a fire affinity they can still use fire, not only can they use it they can use it even better than mages with the same affinity, it's called elemental Dominance.
: Normal Mage, the classification for anyone that is on the path of Mana-Sphere cultivation, you have to be above the level of a Mortal-Sphere to be a mage. They are normal mages that train their MPS normally.
: Veritas Mage, the classification for an awakened mage. They have through an event in their life awaked the ability to sense raw aether. Because of this they can interact with it and actively control it to a degree, the higher the soul core the more than can control it. Veritas mages will cultivate faster and with be able to cast spells without using their own mana. How ever if they push that ability to far it can lead to exhaustion and even death.
=Magic Affinity, magic affinity is when a being is born with an inborn ability to control an Element better and to learn anything relating to that element faster. Sometimes a person will have more than one which evolves into something else, for example, if a person is born with Fire and Air affinity, they automatically learn explosion magic easier. Although affinity themselves are pretty rare much less two or more.
=Each Mana-Sphere level has a different name or (title) color that goes with it, the color comes from the mama being purified over time. On mortal planets, there are a total of 9 levels that you have to climb before you can have a chance to become a deity. Each level has a total of 2 stages for each level, the lower and higher being stages.

=Spells, the essence of magic, spells are the precise execution of mana in specific ways. A spell is a complex geometrical pattern that gets etched on the walls of the Soul-Orb, Because of this it takes mental energy to cast a spell, and that is also why the soul-orb gets bigger and stronger the more spells you have and master. There are ways to speed up the growth of the mind other than spell casting though.
=Martial arts, are like spells but instead of casting mana to take a certain form you are manipulating mana through the body to push it to extremes along with the weapons of the user.
=Body Refinement is something only mages can do, it is the process of cleaning your body and also making it stronger they usually do this with rare herbs and sometimes but rarely runic tattoos. They also train under gravity spells and with weights to thicken their muscle density, they can do this type of body enhancement until demi-god rank and after that, the people of jakraa don't know what happens. Body Refinement Techniques are used to force mana into your body. Don't confuse it with what Mana Warriors do though they force raw aether into the bodies. The two can't be compared raw strength-wise.
=The rarity for Spell, Martial arts, and body techniques are 1 Star To 9 Stars with 9 stars being demi-God Level.
