"Here I come! Have you missed me?"
All of a sudden, an exciting yet, melodious voice whispered from the behind of Xenthe and Rozena causing them to snap their heads towards the voice.
The blue eyes were beaming like a sapphire ocean and a cheerful smile was expressing the joy of reunited on her dazzling pale face. The brown strands of her pony tail was dispersed widely on her shoulders and her hands were behind her back in the form of intertwined.
On the other end, Xenthe's pink lips twirl into a smile while she nodded her head at her and whispered. "Yes, we did." Where Rozena shook his head at Casey and her lips uttered a slow noise. "Phooey! Dear me." And she shoved her hands in the pocket.
Abruptly, Casey's blue eyes started to display mourn towards them and her pink lips were slight lowered down showing sorrow while she whispered. "A while ago, I felt lonely when you guys weren't around." And taking a step further, she quickly wide spread her arms and embraced to both of them while her sudden action caused them to stumble slightly forward. "Oh, woah!"
At the same time, Xenthe embraced her back while Rozena rolled her eyes at Casey's melodramatic emotion and shortly, they departed themselves.
"We do not have much time, we must hurry up and get the coffee." With a stiffness in her voice, Xenthe stated and her eyes were fixated on them.
Frowning her brows, Casey asked to her. "Coffee for what?" And they started to take a pace towards the cafeteria.
"I will tell you soon enough." Xenthe declared to them where Rozena responded. "I am all ears."
The classes were in progress as the lunchtime had already passed an hour ago and hopefully no one will see them on the way. Walking on their tip toe, their eyes were wandering around the corridor and shortly, they stood next to the wall of the cafeteria and slowly taking a few steps ahead, they remain firm beside the door frame of the wooden wide door. Individually, Casey's suspicious blue eyes tried to peek inside and above her head, Xenthe laid her chin and her doubtful eyes began to scan the whole wide room and on the top, Rozena's unenthusiastic brown eyes targeted the only one thing, the counter.
The walls were painted in white pristine color and it has a wide glass window. Around the round tables the stools were arranged orderly and a counter made of glass was displaying the different types of meals. Behind the counter two ladies were taking the rest while scrolling on their phones.
At the same time, Casey slightly lifts up her chin to gaze at Xenthe from her down position while she asked in a whisper tone. "How are we supposed to enter into a down time?" Meanwhile Xenthe lowered down her face to look at Casey and she whispered. "We need to plan something."
Shortly, they dismissed themselves from their a quick - look, posture and went back to their upright position and again stood next to the wall. Folding her hands over the chest, Casey's blue eyes landed on Xenthe while she frowned. "What if they make a complaint about us?" And her lips formed in a thin line.
All of a sudden, a realization snapped at Xenthe and with a wide and confused eyes, she looked at Casey while she asked. "Somebody's missing out here." And she bit her bottom lip.
The moment Casey heard her, she frowned her brows in a perplex and slowly, she parted her lips while mumbled in a daze. "Rozena?" And soon, she quickly added. "Where has she gone?" And her bemused eyes began to search for her in the corridor.
Once again, Xenthe approached near the door frame and she tried to take a quick glimpse inside. Where her blue eyes discovered Rozena, who was standing next to the counter as she was waiting to get her order fulfilled. Battling her thick black eyelashes, she try to view clearly again at an unbelievable sight while she licked her bottom lip and whispered with an astonished tone. "She went inside."
"What an audacity!" A quick remark caused Xenthe to snap at Casey, where her eyes were widened struck at the view of Rozena's boldness.
"Aah!" Releasing a long sigh, they looked at each other and took a pace towards the wall as they were waiting for her to appear.
"I have got the coffee, what's next?" A familiar voice announced causing them to turn their heads towards the sound. A form was standing with a dull brown eyes and her pale hand was gently holding the disposable glass of the coffee while shrugging off her shoulders, she raised the eyebrows at them while they blinked their eyes at her in a wonder-struck.
With her popped out blue oceanic eyes, Casey stared at Rozena and shaking her head in disbelief, she exclaimed. "Wow, well, what kind of excuse have you given them?" And she took a single step towards her with an extreme enthusiasm.
Her dense question caused Rozena to roll her brownie eyes at her while a playful smirk swirl on her lips and she said in a sarcastic tone. "My unwise friend has blacked out and rather than drink water, her taste buds like bitter coffee." And she slightly took a step back.
Meanwhile, an annoyance caused Xenthe to shook her head at them and her legs started moving forward and at the same time, she whispered with a hasty tone. "Come on, we must head for the staff lounge."
The moment Rozena heard Xenthe, she fixed her attention on Xenthe while nodded her head and in an instant, Rozena extended her hand towards Casey and handed over the coffee to her. Without any delay, Rozena caught the pace of Xenthe and on the other end, Casey was unaware of the complicated situation. However, her legs began to follow them at the tortoise speed.
While at a pace, Xenthe's sharp blue eyes landed on Rozena who was next to her in a sync and with a clear intention, Xenthe added. "Well, first of all, it must be done. We are going to spill the coffee on that paper and the fault will be entirely on French lecturer. Since he was there with a coffee and that is the only way to ruin that paper and claim we know nothing about it." And simultaneously, with an attentive ear, Rozena heard her intention.
"Hey! Can you guys halt for a moment?" Out of the blue, Casey announced causing them to turn their heads towards her while they were on the track.
"There is no time for that." With an irritation, Rozena rolled her brown eyes while declared at her.
Shortly, they gave a halt to their pace and with a low speed, Xenthe and Rozena placed their foot stagnant beside the door frame of the staff lounge and tardily, they stare at each other while their eager eyes try to search Casey, who was still struggling to catch them.
Releasing a long sigh, Xenthe try to peek inside, where she didn't discovered any presence of the person and immediately, she hissed at Rozena. "No one's in here." And she nodded her head.
Without hesitation, they entered into the room and immediately made their way to Evelyn's work table and top of the desk, a pile of notebooks was in a resting position. In a flash, Xenthe and Rozena began to go through all the unknown notebooks. Fortunately, a thin and plain sheet fell off on the surface from the notebook and instantly, it gained their attention.
In a swift way, Rozena grab the sheet against the surface and when her brown eyes landed on the sheet, her brows scrunch together and quickly, she whispered. "I found it."
Promptly, her remark snapped out to Xenthe and taking a few steps ahead, she glanced to the paper and instantly, her startled blue eyes came in contact with Rozena while relieving a long sigh they nodded their heads at each other.
As fast as possible, they placed the paper on the desk and quickly, glanced at Casey who was lamely standing behind them.
"I will keep an eye on the hallway." Stating the quick words, Xenthe forced her legs to approach the door and she stood in a stagnant position near the door frame while she poke her head out and her eyes began to wander around at the either side of the hallway.
"Give me the coffee, right away." In a swift way, Rozena said to Casey as her attention was completely on the paper while she extended her hand towards Casey who was in an upright position next to her.
"Yeah, sure." Without any delay, Casey whispered and quickly, she stretched out her hand to pass down the glass of coffee.
All of a sudden, the moment she held the glass from her grip, a realization hit to Rozena and she quickly lifted her chin up and her perplex brown eyes interlocked with Casey's cheerful blue eyes and slowly, Rozena's startled brown eyes landed on the glass as she didn't feel the weight of coffee in the glass. In a confused state, she scrunch her eyebrows at Casey and she parted her lips to ask in a dead serious tone. "Where's the coffee and how come it's empty?" And her furious brown eyes was dragging a dead glare at her.
"Most likely, I sipped along my way."
