The courtyard was spacious, but there were few houses, yet if one were to live there, accommodating four rooms under one roof wasn't a big problem, and there was still plenty of space outside, all planted with lawns and various flowers.
Artificial hills and exotic rocks, rare flowers and plants were abundant here, and indeed, there were over a dozen ancient trees that had grown so large that two people couldn't wrap their arms around them. They were lush with foliage and had vast canopies; come summertime, their shade almost covered the entire courtyard, offering a hint of coolness on even the hottest days.
The greenery and the old trees complemented each other, along with the quaint architecture, creating a natural oxygen bar that was cool in winter and warm in summer.
