"Ding!"
The phone rang twice before Rachel picked it up. She said coldly, "Who is it?"
"Ms. Wallace, I'm Connor!"
Connor replied with a smile.
"I know you're Connor. So you do know how to call me? Although I promised you before that you wouldn't have to ask for leave from me, what on Earth are you thinking by suddenly disappearing for so long?"
Rachel's voice carried a trace of anger.
"Ms. Wallace, I ran into some trouble a while ago—I was in a coma for a month and only woke up today. After I woke up, I contacted you immediately…" Connor hurriedly explained.
"You were unconscious for a month?"
After Rachel heard Connor's words, she could not help but be stunned for a moment. Then, she asked with a puzzled expression, "How did that happen?"
"What else could it be? I met an assassin…"
Connor casually lied.
"Is it one of Rockefeller's people?"
