Connor McDonald was stunned by what Rachel Wallace said.
He didn't know what Rachel was trying to do by telling him all this.
"Yes or no?"
Rachel looked at Connor and asked.
"No!"
Connor shook his head without thinking.
"You're lying. I can see it in your eyes!"
Rachel smiled faintly and continued, "Actually, I wouldn't be angry with you even if you did. But no matter what, you couldn't have stolen my pajamas, right?"
"Ma'am, I really didn't steal your pajamas!"
Connor was feeling very frustrated now. So, he had raised his voice in agitation.

Rachel carefully sized up Connor. She had initially planned to divert Connor's attention and then extract the truth from him.
However, she realized that Connor was not so easily distracted, so she gave up interrogating him.
"Alright, since you didn't steal it, I'll let you go now. You can leave!" Rachel waved her hand dismissively at Connor.
