"You and she are what?" I ask to the best of my ability, not to overthink.
His hiccups can't be calmed as he wants to, he wipes his tears like a child, the children at the back of the car kept on crying, so should I cry as well so I could feel at ease? I just watch him as he tries to calm himself. Every word that comes out from him is inaudible.
He sighs and looks up to breathe. "She said that we have a child which is now at the age of five." He finally said.
I crooked my forehead in confusion. "Oh… which means that what happens back then between the two of us isn't your first time doing it." I commented.
He turns around and looks at me with confusion all over his face. I want to ask what that kind of reaction was then; he suddenly leans on the window. "Of course not!" he said that it is almost with a yell.
"What do you mean?"
"That was also my first time." He said with all seriousness.
I sigh. "If it was your first night with me then what are you crying for like a baby? We can always have a DNA test if that child Marvelous is saying is yours or not however, if you say that it is I whom you spent your first, then there is no way that the child is yours, right?" I said uninterestingly.
He blinks. "You are right." He said when he realized. "I thought you are leaving because you found out about it." He said.
"No, I am leaving because you don't want to talk to me."
"No, that's not it. I was just not ready to tell you about the issue in the house that is why I kept my distance from you. Why are you leaving?"
I rolled my eyes. "Don't act pitiful, I am going to drive home tonight. Hue told me to do that it should be tonight while the kids are asleep but now they are fully awake because of you. anyway, she said it will help me and also so I could sleep before the session."
"Oh… I panicked when I saw you are about to leave," he said. "I'll drive you there."
"Well, too late because Hue told me to just go home before the session," I said when I check my phone to see her text message. "By the way, why do Marvelous still calls you babe?" he looked at me with confusion. "Don't try to deny it, I heard it on the other line earlier and say her name on it."
"I am not trying to deny it but I don't know what you are saying. I am not talking to Marvelous on the phone. You can see my last phone call if you want." Then he showed me his phone, and there I saw that the name isn't Marvelous but Marveluis. "He is the engineer that is always being contacted in the company. I think the voice that you heard was his wife. He kept on calling me late at night because he was on duty with his two boys every night since his wife needs to rest. After all, she is sick. He kept on calling me because it is his first time looking after his children who are three years old and five months old baby."
"Then why did you keep this from me?"
'Well, I didn't. It is work. I am being paid for answering his calls and questions regarding his concerns especially when it comes to his younger child." he said. "Anyway, unlocked trunk, I'll put the things inside the house."
When everyone is calm and the children are asleep, he suddenly pulled my hand. "Rackie, sorry if I've been neglecting you for the past few days. I am working on my paternity leave; it's just that my boss is giving me a hard time having one. I am also working hard to earn because I am saving for our future. I will not do this again, what I mean is, I will make things clear next time so we won't have any misunderstanding in the future."
I just nod and flick his forehead. "Next time, don't cry like an idiot," I said then when to bed to sleep.
"Uhm… can I sleep next to you tonight?"
"No, go to the other edge of the bed, the kids are sleeping in the middle."
"You know that we can just put something so they won't fall."
"Master, a no is a no, so go to your place and sleep," I said then closed my eyes.
I can feel that he is still looking at me. "You know that after that heartfelt moment you had with your mom, you didn't cry after that. You are always composed, never had a moment I saw you have teary eyes. It's not that I want to see you crying but sometimes, you need to. I know you are still in your sessions with your sister but I hope one day when you feel like crying you know that it is okay." He said then went to kiss my forehead. "Good night."
While we were driving home, River calls me than Master glanced at me. "You are more close to River now, I feel somewhat jealous you know." He commented.
River and I laugh. "Did you hear that Rive, our Master is jealous?" I teased.
"Yes, but the thing here is I don't know whom he is jealous of, you being close to me or me being too close to you." River said on the other line as I put it on speaker mode. "Is it really okay to take Lily with us?" I am a bit worried.
"Of course, Lily will always stay with my neighbors when I can't come with her to work. Since I don't have parents to go to, she doesn't have grandparents to visit. As for her grandparents on her father's side, they didn't know about her because her father didn't let them know about us."
I looked at Master to see his reaction. I can see how his eyes blaze. "Now, I know why Master here is so mad at Lily's father," I commented.
"Master is like a brother to me, after being an orphan at the age of 18, he and Act was the one who pushed me to finish my studies; they even save half of their allowance before so I can enroll." I turn to look at Master he was seriously driving. Lily suddenly sings a nursery rhyme that I thought her the last time when we are alone and all I could do is to teach her the songs that I sang to the twins. "Is that Lily who's singing?" River asks.
"Yes, who do you think will sing, the twins?" Master sarcastically asks.
River laughs. "I just ask because you might be the one singing trying to sound cute with the kids." She replied. "I don't know that song she's singing because knowing my daughter's speech."
"Oh… I will send you the first one she sang the song, her pronunciation with the other words is so cute." I said.
"Uh… thank you Rackie. Her pronunciation right now is more straight than before. What is the title of that song?"
"I forgot the title but I heard that song when my aunt borrowed a cassette tape from the school she teaches before," I replied. "What I like the most about that song was the lyrics of the chorus. She enjoys the verse parts because she is like participating in class." I said then sent her the video of her daughter singing.
River laughs from the cutest of her daughter. "Oh, Rackie, thank you for this video you sent. She's cute, she even tries to sing the song with the twins as if she was teaching them."
"Yes, I can't also help to laugh as well. She's so cute."
"Rackie, you also have a nice voice. Can you sing it with her today?" I was about to refuse when Master look at me and glance at the back which made me look behind. I saw Lily waiting for me to come and sing along with her. How can I refuse a child?
I sing the chorus and look at Master to sing the verse for me.
"It was one of those awful days for me from beginning to end as you will see." He continues the song. "I wanted a hot bath."
"Oh, yes!" Lily sang.
"But the water ran cold." I sing.
"Oh, no!" Lily sang with feelings.
"I wanted a new hat." I sing.
"Oh, yes!" Lily's eyes are sparkling.
"But the leaves are very old." Master sang it with feelings.
"Oh, no!" Lily even frowns as she sings it.

We all sing the last chorus and repeat the last line of the chorus three times and Lily enjoys it a lot. after singing, I heard River crying on the other line, I panicked however Master hold my hand and shook his head as if saying let her cry for a moment. Honestly, I am so curious why she is crying. Did I make the people around me a crybaby?
