Hi my name is Amarís Lilliana, I am normally called Amarís or Lilly for short, my name means promised by God, My dad picked it out since I guess since he had always wanted a little girl. He always says I will be big and strong like my mommy. My favorite color is yellow and I love lilies. I am actually the daughter of the Alpha. I am from the Darkpaw pack, we are the original pack created by the moon goddess a long time ago. We got the name because for a long time our pack went thru a rough and dark time. Or at least those are the stories that mommy tells me before bed every night.
As much as I really loved sleep I had to get up. My mom had set an alarm and it was going off, it sounded like little screeching birds playing tunes in my ears. I wanted to keep sleeping so bad, But today was my first day of kinder. I get to go with Natia my very best friend to the Paws Academy. I don't go to human school because I am considered royal family. Kind of like when humans go to private school because they come from a family with a lot of money and such.
Mom says I am staying there only for a couple hours and then she will be coming to pick me up with my big brother Arthur Theodore jr, she is taking us to the arcade.
Arthur was 12, he was named after my dad, one day he will be alpha just like my dad. He was an amazing big brother. Even though as future alpha, sometimes I don't get to see him as often as I would like.
Dad always has him training. He is always busy but when he is home he always finds time for me. He calls me his little princess.
I run down stairs and giggle at the sound of my footsteps on the stairs.
Bonk. Bonk. Bonk.
I take a seat at the bar stool where my mom has set up my bowl of cereal with my cup of orange juice. "Thank you mommy" I say taking a sip of my OJ.
"Hey lil sis" Theo said coming down the stairs while I put a spoonful of cereal in my mouth.
"Hi big broww" he giggled and sat down next to me so mom could give him a bowl of cereal too. He ate the one with the tiger on it. He thinks it'll make him stronger. But mommy always says that only veggies will.
After breakfast I went to get dressed and then mom took me and Natia to kinder. Natia was my best friend since little girls. She was part of the pack, her mom was a servant at my house. But that didn't matter to me.
We met new friends and played. Our teacher was real nice too! My new friends were all so nice. But they were always calling me princess. I didn't like it I wanted to be treated like any other girl.
"Guys I'm not a princess!" I yell getting frustrated at them. I start to cry. A teacher came running to me and scooped me up in her arms.
"What's going on Amarís?" Asked the 7 foot male teacher.
"They call me princess! I don't like it!"
"Okay hun let's get you inside"
He murmured something to another teacher as he walked by and the teacher went to my friends.
"Hi guys please don't bother Amarís. If she doesn't like people using her tittle then don't okay?"
I looked back and saw them all nodding.
I got inside and sat down and colored until my mom came.
After school my mom, Theo and his friend Dean came to pick us all up. They both were on their phones laughing about some game they were playing. Dean was just a little younger than Arthur. He was 10.
"Heyooo" me and Natia said in unison.
"Hi lil sis, hi Natia"Arthur said. "Mom is taking us to the park" I frowned I thought we were going to the arcade! There was a bear I wanted from there.
"Yay" natia said behind me.
I felt bummed but as soon as everyone was happy in the car I realized it wouldn't be so bad and that it would be fun.
When we got there Arthur and Dean sat at a picnic table nearby and stared at their phones. "Do you guys want to come play too?" I stood at the end of the table barely able to look on top of it.
"No Amarís go play with the little kids"
"Yeah get away you are too little to hang out with us."
My eyes filled with tears, my brother was mean and so was Dean. I let a small tear escape and I went to play on the swings meeting up with Natia who was already swinging all by herself.
I miss the days Arthur would play with me.
We played until late that day, we made friends and played tag and seek.
"Girls let's go!" I hear my mom yell while the boys are helping her pack everything up.
"Natia wanna watch movie at my house?"
Natia nodded and we smiled. We skipped behind my mom. I looked back at the boys and they were also having their own fun and making their own plans.
When we got to the car, I sat in the back with Natia and Dean.
Dean helped me get into my car seat. When we touched I felt a weird sparking feeling.
"Wow what was that"
"What was what?" Arthur asked looking over from putting Natia in her car seat too.
"I got electrocuted just now!" Dean let out a small laugh. He smiled up at me and continued to put my seat belt on. Then they sat next to me.
When we got home, Natia went to go say hi to her mom and dad and then came back to watch a movie. Natia and I stayed down in the living room to watch spy kids. The older boys went to go play on their Xbox.
"Mom I want to have an Xbox too" I said pouting at my mom.
She smiled and walked by to the kitchen. I was feeling sleepy. Then I remembered it was Friday.
Mom and dad always left me and my brother alone with my uncle Jake on fridays. They always went out to a party or something. I smiled thinking about how awesome my uncle is. Him and auntie his mate are always the best to be around. Suddenly my eyes go dark. But then come back to light again. Natia is really into the movie.
"Natia let's go hang out by the lake?"
Natia nodded and we snuck past uncle Jake on his computer. He was supposed to be keeping an eye on us but instead he was on Netflix watching some tele novela.
It was cold out and Natia decided that we should play tag. She was it first. We ran into the woods, hoping no one would see us. When we were far enough from the house we began to chase each other.
Shortly thereafter, a loud growl came from behind the trees.
Grrrr. I heard a low growl coming from the trees. Me and Natia stopped. We looked and it was a rogue. I did what my dad taught me and I howled, I have never shifted before but I knew my howl was in there. I howled and Suddenly a bunch of pack warriors surrounded me and left Natia out.
"Get my friend! Help her!"
I tried telling her to get in the circle or to run. To run as fast as she could but before she could make it she was caught. The pack warriors attacked the rogue but before we knew it they grabbed my friend and bit her on the neck. I just watched my best friend get hurt in front of me.
I sobbed. Tears escaped my eyes faster than I could blink.
"Natiaaaa"
I yelled out for my best friend.
